https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/47488/? Single 2K retexture of a blacksmith sign. Quick reference: Bumpy Inn & Shop Signs (former STEP) >> THIS MOD >> Better Signage - Inns And Shops >> >>

I thought about it you are right, I should try it in game, as the small details DOES matter indeed. I added this to my game, if I won't forget to look for it, I'll express my opinion again :) Ditto for Dandelion Seeds.

SKYRIMLE Interactive Torch Sconces (by fireundubh)
rootsrat replied to Ganda's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yeah, I also think this can be treated as a fix. I will be testing this, definitely. What I really mean is - I will add it to my massive list of mods awaiting to be tested O_o -
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52884/?# From the author of "More *** On The Road" series. This one is a Solstheim road texture replacer. It changes the road that connects Raven Rock and Brodir Grove. I have not tried it in my game, just bringing it for people's attention :)

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52886/? A thir mod in the series. Adds the ash texture onto the Solstheim roads. See this thread for a video and more details.
-
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52682/? Second mod in the series. Adds a dirt texture onto the roads. It uses whichever dirt texture you have currently installed. See this thread for a video and more details.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52548/? It may be an interesting effect. I haven't tried it, but looking at the video it may actually look good in game. Going to test it out. It adds the existing texture of snow onto the roads so that they look more snowier and blend more with the environment. It doesn't provide the new texture, but uses whatever snow texture replacer you have actually installed, which is great! It also works with parallax effect, but need to be installed after any parallax mods. There are 2 more mods in the series: More Dust and More Ash. I'll create separate threads for them.

All And Sundry - a collective art exhibition in Leeds, UK
rootsrat posted a topic in Step Banter Inn
Hey there guys. I am part of art group Barking Man. We're based in Leeds, UK. To give you some background: Barking Man is a Leeds based, non-commercial art project that aims to promote independent artists. We organise a variety of events: art exhibitions & installations, interactive workshops, live music/DJ nights etc. Our goal is to present a wide variety of artistic creations as a form of entertainment standing in opposition to consumerism-orientated spending of free time. We have organised over 10 art events in Poland and the United Kingdom, each being a great success. Our new exhibition will take place on the 10th of May at Eiger Music Studios. We'll see 14 artists presenting their artwork, in addition we'll have 4 live music acts and all this will be followed by an aferparty in D'N'B, house and techno rhtyhms! You're all more than welcome to attend this event. You can find more details here and I also attach an official poster :) Hope to see you there! Also, a quick teaser-trailer from our last event (warning, NSFW!!!) [video=youtube] -
ACCEPTED Greatsword Sheaths and Scabbards Redux (by rpsgc, MadCat221)
rootsrat replied to rpsgc's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Agree. I have the full scabbards installed in my game and they look really good! -
I must admit I did not try it in game. I do have it on my list "to check at some point" though :)

Well, pretty much all of the mod pages mentioned in this thread are NSFW, so I thought it'd be appropriate to mark the whole thing as such. But yeah, there is no NSFW content in the actual thread itself.

Why, oh why?! So many mod authors take their screenshots in either dark interiors or at night when using whatever dark night mods etc... WHY? What is the point in uploading a screen showing off your super duper million K resolution retexture of an armour, or new items, or new NPC/monsters, ANYTHING that must be visually appreciated to be convinced to download a mod, when a user can't see SH...UGAR in the image? I completely do not understand this and it drives me mad! There, feel better now.
-
No worries, I have a separate mod bookmarked for this :) Just wondered if this one had something like that.

I think this deserves our attention. I finally had some time to read through the description and if I understand correctly it has a great potential for STEP as a texture selector and combiner. We have some mods that we only use some textures and delete other ones (Trees HD is an example that comes to my mind) and perhaps similar mods will join this group (there was a massive thread about hand picking textures for farm houses a while back...). Maybe we should look at this in more detail? I allowed myself to edit the OP and add part of mod description from Nexus.
-
Just one more q then - can you set a new "home" for your followers with this mod?
-
Added [NSFW] to the thread title.

Ah, OK. Sounds really good then! If I knew about it before, I'd definitely install it instead of EFF for the current playthrough, as the latter doesn't work correctly with Sky Haven Temple Enhanced - Recruit More Blades. In fact, it's SHTE not working correctly with EFF... The recruit more blades function is not working sadly (the other features still work perfectly fine though). Maybe I will make an attempt to uninstall EFF, try to use that new Save Cleaner tool I've made a thread about recently. See how it goes.

non-issue Multi Quote and Quote malfunction
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's question in Forum Support
Ah, OK, wasn't aware of that. I can see the logic behind it, but would it be possible to allow for 2-tier multiquotes only? It would be beneficial I think. -
Just to clarify - I don't get VRAM/RAM related crashes, I don't get other CTD's ofter either tbh. It's clearly not enough VRAM problem, as the game freezes when it tries to load new textures as the camera rotates the view. Once the textures are loaded, it comes back to normal. And again - these freezes happen ONLY where there are a lot of various NPC's in an exterior area - it's pretty much OK in the cities as well, only happens in the open world with load of NPCs. I will do some more testing soon and report back. And yeah, I agree there are a lot of factors to whether it works or not, like hardware set up, OS architecture, other software running in the background etc.

Sounds good! 2) Will they take Fav'd/equipped items or will they leave them alone? 4) Can you switch that off? I can think of a scenario where I am sneaking and need to wait for a guard to walk away or to come closed to shoot them with a bow or something. If my followers start wandering off... Not good!

I gave this a quick test and I think it really improved my performance! I have 2 GB graphic card and 8 GB of ram. I set VideoMemorySizeMb to 2048 (as per my VRAM) and I must say that sometimes I get big stutter when turning around (a clear indication of hitting VRAM limitations), especially when there are a lot of NPC in the picture (I use 1K for exterior textures, but 2K for NPCs and most of the equipment). I have changed VideoMemorySizeMb to 8192 (as per the formula above) and loaded a recent save, where a large battle occurs (Extended Encounters mod), something between 15-20 NPCs (my char + 2 followers, some bandits, a Redguard party, a giant, a farmer with a cow, some mercenaries etc. - so A LOT of different textures loaded) and the battle went really smooth, only some minor stutters when turning around. As I said, this was only a quick test in a spot I knew is bad, as I've had some problems with it yesterday when I played - first time I encountered it my game froze for about 30 seconds during getting off my horse, then another 15 sec freeze when I tried to turn back and run to fight. Now all played very smooth, no issues. I will do some more testing soon to confirm, but initial thoughts are that this formula is actually working. I just hope it's not a placebo!

SKYRIMLE Automatic Variants (by Leviathan1753)
rootsrat replied to Anosognos's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I found SUM never worked for me in the past... I may actually see how AV works for me with my new mod set up and hence use SUM again... Thanks for reminding me of both! :) -
CJ raises a very important point here. STEP:Core is supposed to serve as a BASE for extensions (packs). By forcing certain body type that will eliminate the possibility to use custom armors in game, we're also drastically limiting possibilities of the pack authors to include custom armors, which isn't great considering what STEP:Core is meant to be.
