The best game in Fallout series?
PioneerRaptor replied to rootsrat's topic in General Fallout 3 Discussion & Support
I've only played Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. I enjoyed both of them immensely though I would give the edge to Fallout 3. -
STEP v2.2.7 Official Bug Reports
PioneerRaptor replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
For the ones that STEP doesn't have recommendations for and instead allows the user to make the choice, perhaps you can write "User's Choice" where you would normally put STEPs recommendation. -
I completely agree. Heck, I'm still running the i5 Sandy Bridge and nothing is pushing that yet (of course those are hard to find now). A decent i5 will suffice for anyone (for gaming). The only part needed to splurge on is the GPU. I'm using the 7970 and nothing is pushing it yet. The most demanding game coming out (with released specs) is Battlefield 4 and the 7970 is over the recommended. So that should last another year or so. Personally, I would go with an i5 Ivy Bridge, then I would get either the 7970 or 780. While these technically aren't the top-of-the-line for AMD and nVidia, I personally avoid the cards that are technically more than one card packed into one. Either way, if you go top-of-the-line AMD or nVidia you'll be set for a few years and since you were pretty cheap elsewhere it shouldn't cause your PC to cost an extraordinary amount. Note: Preferably go nVidia for now as AMD should be releasing the 8xxx series soonish. Memory 2x4 is just fine, I would have a motherboard with four slots for later upgrade potential. However, 2x4 will probably last long enough until we see DDR4.

My GPU almost cost that much! I can't do 1K textures though, I need more!

ACCEPTED Book Covers Skyrim (by DanielCoffey and doccdr)
PioneerRaptor replied to dstansberry's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I was also thinking Extended until I saw the Book Case screenshots. In my opinion it really is needed for the bindings to have variation. The Vanilla screenshot makes it look like only 3-4 books are on the shelf but that's not the case. -
SKYRIMLE Ancient Falmer Armor HD Retext & Redone (by Barneq)
PioneerRaptor replied to DCS78's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
While the quality is definitely better, I hate how clean and white it got. Makes it look too new (even the ragged version). Therefore I prefer the Vanilla texture. -
A Bittersweet End to LucasArts
PioneerRaptor replied to TechAngel85's topic in General Game Discussion
KoTOR 2 was developed by Obsidian :p. Anyways, it's always a shame to see a lot of people lose their jobs, but they just haven't been able to develop games very well in a long time. I believe it will be for the better in the long run as Disney will not license out the different licenses to more qualified developers. -
I'd love to help as soon as I get back to the states in a few months :p (Currently I'm only able to use the fixes/gameplay mods.)

I like the idea of moving and removing signs where plausible, however, I do not like the new, clean look to the signs.

SKYRIMLE TTYM - Think To Yourself Messages (by VorpalBlades)
PioneerRaptor replied to Yggdrasilion's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I don't see any issues with Dungeon Quest Awareness as that merely adds text to the titles of locations. So unless this changes discovers of locations ie. "I've just discovered Whiterun" then it should be fine. Either way, the mod sounds awesome. Definitely cool for immersion. -

[Searching] Nude mod
PioneerRaptor replied to Thc002's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
The game is rated "M" for Mature here in America and rated high in most other countries as well. I think STEP should address this for the simple fact of immersion and reality. Looking at the game, most of these people would be lucky to afford under garments at all. I don't see a problem adding in a mod that is realistic and not over-the-top. Obviously, we don't all want pornstars or barbies, but some nice realism would be good. Also, sometimes I just want to go for a swim, naked ;) -
Skyrim Beta 1.9!!!
PioneerRaptor replied to torminater's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Legendary Skills is optional. It's merely a new difficulty level you would select that most likely comes after Master. Even then, you still don't have to use the skill portion. -
Currently the 7970 offers the best price/performance. You could get an SSD or another Monitor with the money you save.

A very nice idea, hopefully it comes to fruition.

SKYRIMLE No empty tag on empty containers
PioneerRaptor replied to JudgmentJay's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
While it is good for immersion, I think the "Empty" tag is one of those cases where convenience trumps immersion. Think about how many containers you open when you play and how much time is saved by being able to skip containers that you already know are empty. -
Looks awesome!

GameSave manager would no longer be needed to do that. You can create a Steam Library on each HDD/SSD through Steam now. So when installed Skyrim, merely choose to create a D:/Steam/ folder (or whatever the drive is) and it will automatically be installed to that drive and you can still launch it from Steam.

The 670 you linked to is actually 10$ more for 1GB Less than the 7970.
