  1. 1. Don't use the output of one optimizer as the input to another optimizer; this can degrade image quality. DDSopt detects whether it has already optimized an image (at the same output resolution) and will skip an already optimized image. Personally I would delete any outputs from OT and start over with DDSopt because I don't know what types of images cause problems with OT. If you aren't changing the resolution of the output the DDSopt optimization can be done fairly simply; admittedly not as simply as with OT. Note also that with only a few exceptions the benefit of optimization with Fallout 3 images doesn't seem to be as great as it is for Skyrim ones. This is likely because Fallout 3 doesn't cause as many VRAM challenges as Skyrim. OT will probably not create any significant problems; I prefer DDSopt since graphic artists have commented that it creat3es good quality images. 2. The other main advantage of DDSopt is in mipmap creation; it creates better quality mipmaps than OT as well as most graphic editing programs. For some reason the UHQ texture set has no mipmaps so it is particularly useful to optimize it to reduce GPU usage.
  2. Personally I don't like having the bashed patch as a master; it is dynamic and can change often. Which TWPC plugins show up as missing masters after creating the bashed patch? In my game the TWPC plugins I use aren't missing any masters after I create the bashed patch. All of the TWPC patches should be loaded after the bashed patch. Make sure you are not using any of the TWPC patches that conflict with other TWPC patches; the guide discusses this but if there are questions or issues with the installation instructions let me know so it can be improved (or you can edit if you prefer).
  3. Correct. The guide recommends using the PLFewerItems plugin, but it's up to the user.
  4. I don't know whether the game engine merges these or not. If it doesn't then you might need to add the correct ones to a personal patch.
  5. In previous versions of Frostfall I thought that all cloaks provided some warmth and that heavy cloaks provided more warmth; I think that is the intention with Frostfall 3 but I haven't seen any details of which cloaks (including cloaks from mods like those provided in Cloaks of Skyrim and Winter is Coming) provide more warmth.
  6. Are you using the new alpha version of Mod Organizer 2? The original Mod Organizer can't be used with 64 bit executables like those in Fallout 4.
  7. The Skyrim engine doesn't know about or manage warmth and coverage; those attributes were added by Frostfall. As such the warmth/coverage of an item of clothing depends on what Frostfall has set for warmth/coverage of a particular item of clothing. The Frostfall Primer doesn't have any details on how warmth and coverage is assigned to clothing; for detailed answers you might find some posts on the Frostfall Nexus page about this or you can look with TES5Edit at the clothing records in Frostfall.
  8. I looked at the Nexus page for Extended Hotkeys, and it doesn't sound especially compatible with any mods that use their own hotkeys. Try More Hotkeys ; it might be more compatible, but it's hard to tell from just the descriptions. A list of hotkeys used by mods in the C&PD guide is available on the associated hotkey page referenced in the guide.
  9. FO3Edit can't clean UDM errors when the problem is an undeleted navmesh. This can only be fixed with the GECK, typically by the mod author, so you can't do much about these. CTDs usually mean a corrupted file or a missing file, especially if they happen when loading a game or starting a new one. Did you check your set of mods by loading them into FO3Edit to see if it detects an error?
  10. Yes, cleaning mod plugins is the same as cleaning Bethesda ESMs, as described in the "Comment on Cleaning Mods with FO3Edit" section of the guide. I'll revise the section a little since LOOT doesn't have all the information about what needs to be cleaned. If in doubt clean the plugin; if it isn't dirty FO3Edit will let you know. The guide does include information on which plugins should not be cleaned.
  11. You might try isolating the problem to one or more of the TWPV patches so you only need to reinstall the related mods.
  12. I haven't updated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 yet. Have other users found the same problem in not being able to run the GFWL disabler. I had no problems in starting the game with Win 8.1 when I installed FO3.
  13. Thanks; I'll start looking at is so it can be added to the guide. If someone else has already tested this with FO3 feel free to add it to the guide. Information on what it does beyond FO3LODGen and installation instructions would be useful to include.
  14. DoubleYou created it for use in guides and I just added it to the FO3 guide; give the credit to DoubleYou.
  15. How does it compare with or work with FO3LODGen?
  16. I sometimes see this, but I've been ignoring it. I'll add the steps from Himself for those who want to eliminate it.
  17. It might be that the non-FWE version of DarN doesn't grey it out, even though it is non-functional.
  18. If you have deactivated the plugins with MO I don't see how they could affect anything, unless they had changed the load order in LOOT and the problem was actually a another plugin. FO3Edit usually catches these. CTDs at startup indicate either a missing file or a corrupted file.
  19. True, but it would be useful to have another thread where it is discussed.
  20. Sounds reasonable. I didn't write this and I haven't needed to merge these; it is taken from the Fallout NV guide. I'll check if this has been edited there.
  21. It sounds like you are having game stability problems. What are your hardware system characteristics? Are you using ENBoost? Have you done any performance testing to see if you are getting close to the VRAM limits for your system (this is unusual in FO3 since it is less demanding than newer games).
  22. I'm not sure what is happening. I have more of the TWPC plugins than you, but not the exact same ones as you, and I load the game without any problems. Have you tried merging the TWPC plugins to see if there is a plugin count issue? Did you use LOOT to set load order (except for the TWPC plugins which load last)?
  23. I'll check on this when I am at my computer this evening.
