Bump I've tried a few more configs and still no joy. v1.8c and 1.81 are still causing freezes.

WOAH! It sounds like you have a completely different problem than the ENB if you're reaching 7.1GB that shouldn't even be possible as using 3.1GB of RAM will CTD your game. Unless you're saying you're using 4GB in total before you start skyrim. Now this cannot be emphasized enough. Optimize ALL of your textures. The max is probably 2048 for the plain textures; and I wouldn't go above 1024 for the normals (the ones with _n in the name) Yeah I meant before I even start the game my system is pulling around 4GB of RAM usage. It's not until I starty Skyrim and start running outside in the wilderness that the RAM usage shoots up to 7.1GB. Which happens to be exactly at the 3.0GB limit. So atleast I know why I got those CTD's and I'm not too worried about that. I've only optimized the Bethesda stuff I believe since I think that is all that is covered in SR. I can optimize more that should help that CTD issue out. But knowing the problem and the solution, I'm not too worried about it. I'll talk to Neo to see if we can get the optimizations included. -
I could maybe take a whack at it sometime soon. What would the general needs be i.e. should we recommend your OS be on the SSD. I'd think so.

WB or MO- Switching from STEP to SR
phazer11 replied to Luisangre's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Slightly off topic but doesn't Nitpick allow you to load more than 250 esp's? Or is that only to fix the bug where you'd have problems if there were a lot of esp's/esm's in the data directory? -

Personally I'd go with Mod Organizer. It's much easier to use and you can also run Wyre Bash through it to make your bashed patches. -
I have mine set to 512MB (8GB of RAM) if you're using close to your RAM limit and you're not doing serious 3D/Video/Photo Rendering and Editing then you likely have a problem and if you are you probably need to bite the bullet and buy more RAM. The link I posted to the sticky really is like a SSD Bible. Buying Guide, Setup, General Usage, etc.

OOOOh PRETTY LIGHTS! I honestly don't understand what the problem is. You followed Neo's install guide for ATI driver from the guide? Also check your d3d9.fx and dxgi.fx files and look for #define SMAA_PIXEL_SIZE float2(1.0 / xxxx.x, 1.0 / xxxx.x) you should input your resolution in place of the xxxx.x See if that helps any. -

Try using Aiyen's ENB Preset https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35823/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D35823&pUp=1 -

O.O you shouldn't have ANY problems running ANYTHING (In fact that's along the lines of what I'd buy when I upgrade next excepting for new generation products) Have you tried another ENB preset? Which were you using Realvision. Also if you are using a full Skyrim Revisited install (or in general) I'd never use 4k textures they eat up a lot of resources. In fact 2k textures often push it. If Skyrim were a 64-Bit program there wouldn't be much of a problem but as it's 32-bit you'll run into the 3GB crash once your VRAM copies over a lot of the textures from VRAM into RAM. I suggest 2k with 1k normals. -
Doesn't Less Intrusive HUD do that?
-
Depends. Do you have extra licenses? Also I just purchased SSD's and I'd wait fr a sale if I were you; the best price per dollar is for 240-256GB drive atm it seems (last I checked). I grabbed 2 240GB Corsair Neutron's for a cool $340 ($170 each) from Newegg about a month and a half ago. You can check this thread for deals

Textures to downsize to avoid 3gb CTD?
phazer11 replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Should I just uninstall and reinstall SFO? I didn't downsize anything. I just removed the high-res pines optional and reinstalled SFO and did anneal all EDIT: I reinstalled SFO. Does this look normal for the default pines? Seems like too large of a decrease from 4/2k to 2/1k. Honestly looks like vanilla textures. https://i.imgur.com/vw8BSmG.jpg I think you'll have that problem alot as you get closer to trees. I've noticed that up close trees leaves look like that no matter what res I use I assume the ones on the left are closer than the ones on the right. -

Ok are you running an ENB? If so disable it. Second have you optimized your texture according to this? Third; what are your system specs and what texture resolutions did you use? -
ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
phazer11 replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
Just a bump mainly. Didn't have time to do much yesterday. Which draw distances would help the most without being very noticeable, and which direction do they need to be edited towards (higher/lower) I'd also appreciate it if anyone noticed any glaring issues in my ini's that might slow things down to post here. -
Here's version 1.6's conflict list (the newest one that seems to work) I need to tell it not to use the equip animations but it does work.
-
Ah... interesting. Hmm... Which version are you currently running with the manual install and how long have you gone without freezing?
-
Strange... thiose are the ones I picked but mine overwrites an extra file from UNP. I don't have Dawnguard or Dragonborn, or Hearthfire so no crossbows to be overwritten by closer quivers. I do have belt fastened quivers on.

Heh I feel for you (unless you enjoy it). I get enough work between college and my friends bringing me their computers to fix. I should probably start charging I might be able to upgrade my desktop lol. You work nights or you outside the U.S./Europe? I'm in the U.S. but can't get to sleep before 3:30 or so.

The ones you suggested in your other post

I did, didn't seem to work

GJ root glad to hear it. Anyone have any more insight as to why some of us have problems with the newer XP32 skeletons?

Yup that is what I said. Also I noticed that the new SKSE lacks a SKSE folder in the Data folder -

I noticed something when I did my short ENB framerate run and noticed that the texture seam for the 1st person hands is still there. I followed the instructions on the guide (double checked, unless somehow I missed something) and it's still there I did the step of placing the default UNP body as stated in the guide and idk it's just weird. I also tried using the mature skin files to make it work and no dice. Ideas? -
ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
phazer11 replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
I don't think I was installing yours right. I took the textures and made an archive for MO to install but wasn't sure where to put it in the load order. Do you have skype or something (and mind if we talk there)? That might make this a little easier. If we discover something helpful we can always come back and add it later, this back and forth is killing me. Alright I just ran through Helgen most of the intro loaded a save from the torture room through to Whiterun and got the quest from Farengar that should be a pretty good indicator. I was getting about 22 FPS in the woods around Riverwood with ENB; not quite enough for my archer I'll need to tweak it. I was getting about 24 FPS in Whiterun which is just fine by me as long as I get more than 23.976 (Blu-Ray framerate) I'll be a happy camper. I guess draw distances will probably need to be the next things I edit. Oh BTW Aiyen that's with your preset at 1080P (forgot to edit the d3d9 file so I guess it was using your screen res 1680x1050?). Looks good so far. Let me know if you'd like a guinea pig for your beta version I'd be happy to since I haven't actually gotten my playthrough truly started yet. Skyrim.ini SkyrimPrefs.ini
