There are a few reasons for releasing beta drivers: a) Testing for WHQL certifications takes a while. b) It's not worth releasing a whole new driver for everyone with hotfixes for one game. c) New features/bug fixes are being tested this way on wider audience. Neither Nvidia nor AMD intentionally release buggy drivers. Often beta drivers fix issues that occurred in the new WHQL release. This driver is no different to the last beta, hence no number change.
-
All 310 beta drivers had issues with Skyrim as far as I know. Even Boris recommended the official drivers. With that said, 310.70 WHQL is probably just the certified beta driver.

I've noticed some of your replies miss as well. For instance, Farlo quoted you once on a thread but when I looked your reply was nowhere to be found. I though it was weird that he was quoting a reply that I couldn't see. That's because my replies were moderated for a few days and they still haven't approved a good few of them in various threads. Stupid system, if you ask me. Especially that I'm not a spammer and a suspension would do just fine. Anyway, this doesn't seem related. But my two replies in this thread have disappeared as soon as I submitted the post, resulting in blank posts with quotes (as you can see a few posts above).
-
It just happened again, I posted a long reply above and the whole thing got deleted, leaving only the quoted text. :( Not blaming anyone for this happening, but it's very weird to happen twice in the row. On a side note, my posts were moderated for a few days and I still don't see a few showing up in the threads I posted.
-
That's a bit contradicting to what Farlo just said. But fair point about keeping it ethical. Farlo was referring to closing threads seeking support, which is all that needs to be done. I was referring to explicitly posting information on how to obtain files via sharing (in other words, non-official distribution). As Farlo stated, we can't stop users from sharing. But in terms of being ethical, we won't condone it publicly here on the forums. EDIT: great, my reply got deleted somehow. :(

SKYRIMLE Possibly The Most Realistic Rocks and Mountains in Skyrim
Besidilo replied to Ramrod51's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
To be fair, the light version of these textures looks pretty damn good. I've yet to test them, but it's nice that the author listens to criticism. Please update the OP with images from the Light version of the mod. -
Since SRO is unlikely to ever come back, your three options are as follows: 1) Install another large texture pack, like Skyrim HD, and replace some of its textures with smaller mods from STEP (bearing in mind changes that are taking place for 2.2.0b. 2) Wait for STEP 2.3, which should address the lack of Skyrim Realistic Overhaul. 3) Acquire SRO from a "friend". Not having SRO in STEP is a major loss to the project, but I've always felt that there are more important things to mod in this game than graphics.

There are quite a few lighting mods worth looking at: Relighting Skyrim by NovakDalton Enhanced Light and Fixes by Volrath Overhauling light source for ENB and vanilla by JawZ And I think More Dynamic Shadows had some fixes for lighting as well.

The mods lists RCRN as fully compatible.

No reason why it shouldn't. It's probably as good as it will ever get anyway.

DROPPED High Realistic Tundra Moss for AOF (by Aron)
Besidilo replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Awesome textures, a great improvement over what we've had already. -
Does is not bother you that after a year you're still whining about Skyrim HD having more endorsements? Is that all that matters to you? I haven't seen any serious modding community putting that mod above yours. Even then, it's their personal choice to do so. You should just let it go, because you're clearly bitter about something you have no influence on. Anyway, I'm moving on, hoping that Cestral will find a solution to problems that arise from the lack of SRO in STEP/TPC.

ACCEPTED Greatsword Sheaths and Scabbards Redux (by rpsgc, MadCat221)
Besidilo replied to rpsgc's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I could have sworn this has been posted before. Anyway, thanks for your mod, rpsgc! :) -
This is a BIG lie! Here is my last post: It is kinda logical that i should send new updates to those people. They give me their money! I did not ask for the money! Those Nexus moderators are so stupid! After this and after some comments here i'm glad that i have removed SRO. But i'm not surprised. I know people very well! What about the people who have always supported you by endorsing your work, commenting on it, encouraging you and giving feedback on any developments, promoting it on various forums, including in their Skyrim modding guides, texture compilations or even torrenting it (sharing their bandwidth with other users), because it was that good? Do they not count because they didn't want/couldn't pay you for your free work?
-
STEP did OK before SRO came out, I don't see how it's going to suffer now, considering that the textures are removed from legal channels for all users. It's always been a compilation of the best available mods. With that said, it's a shame that Starac removed his great mod. That doesn't change the fact that he didn't respect anyone using his work, because he couldn't profit from it. TPC has never hurt Starac's work, if anything, it increased his downloads, endorsements and potential donations through its popularity and inclusion in STEP.

The Wilds ENB looks very promising judging from the comments and screenshots. Compatible with CoT too.

Some people really don't want to understand this! You can merge mods how you want in one big file, or create a batch that will do the same. The result is the same. This is why i have stated that one cannot use my mod for any kind of modifications without my permission. This is effectively telling people that they can't pick or mix and match the textures they like, on their own Skyrim setup. You're an intelligent guy (or so I'd like to believe), I think you understand very well how Cestral's "mod" works. It doesn't use any files from your mod. In fact, it doesn't use any assets from any mods. It's no different to downloading yours and other mods and putting them in the Data folder manually. Except you shouldn't give a **** what people do at that point, not to mention you have no right to tell them how to use your files. Next thing I know, you're be calling for banning STEP, because it has mods you don't like in its list. Just admit to being a dick already. I'm pretty sure you violated Bethesda's license for modders by requiring donations too. Thanks for the textures anyway.

Dragonborn DLC Trailer Released

To be more clear on my previous point, I use preconfigured INIs that use STEP's and some other tweaks that I find useful at the time of testing with the Ultra preset from Skyrim Launcher (bearing in mind that I disable MSAA every time, since it's not efficient in this game): STEP tweaks [sP].ini (goes in SkyrimPrefs.ini): [Display] iBlurDeferredShadowMask=2 bTreesReceiveShadows=1 bDrawLandShadows=1 iMaxDecalsPerFrame=350 bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 [Water] iWaterReflectHeight=1024 iWaterReflectWidth=1024 [Controls] bMouseAcceleration=0STEP tweaks .ini (Skyrim.ini): [Display] fSunShadowUpdateTime=0 fSunUpdateThreshold=2.0 fDecalLifetime=750.0 [General] sIntroSequence= iLargeIntRefCount=999999 fFlickeringLightDistance=8192 [Combat] fMagnetismStrafeHeadingMult=0.0 fMagnetismLookingMult=0.0 f1PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7 f3PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7 f1PBoltTiltUpAngle=0.7 f3PBoltTiltUpAngle=0.7 [Camera] fOverShoulderAddY=0.0 fOverShoulderPosZ=10.0 fOverShoulderPosX=0.0 fOverShoulderCombatAddY=0.0 fOverShoulderCombatPosZ=10.0 fOverShoulderCombatPosX=0.0 fOverShoulderHorseAddY=-72.0 fOverShoulderHorsePosZ=50.0 fOverShoulderHorsePosX=35.0 fActorFadeOutLimit=-100 fMouseWheelZoomSpeed=60.0 f1st3rdSwitchDelay=0.95 iHorseTransitionMillis=001 [Actor] fVisibleNavmeshMoveDist=12288.0000 [Cart] fWheelAngDamp=0.1100 fMass=240.0000 fFriction=100.0000 fGravMult=7.0000 Z-fighting fix [sP].ini (currently not used as Z-fighting is not much of an issue for me atm): [TerrainManager] fTreeLoadDistance=75000.0000 fBlockMaximumDistance=500000.0000 fBlockLevel1Distance=140000.0000 fBlockLevel0Distance=75000.0000 fSplitDistanceMult=4.0000 bShowLODInEditor=0 [Main] fSkyCellRefFadeDistance=500000.0000 This way I can quickly switch between the presets without worrying about messing up the main file (since I could simply rebuild the INI files and replace the relevant lines in WB).

SKYRIMLE Possibly The Most Realistic Rocks and Mountains in Skyrim
Besidilo replied to Ramrod51's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Great textures, not the type of mountains you would expect in Skyrim, though. It departs too much from the original style of the game. -
DROPPED Elven Weapons for Silence (by Erlioniel)
Besidilo replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Book of Silence has already been considered for STEP, but STEP won't implement any armour/weapon mods for a good while yet. -
I have 3 txt files (with preconfigured tweaks) that I initiate within Wrye Bash on every Skyrim reinstall. It does the trick for me, but YMMV.
