STEP Extended: Striped and pixelated shadows
Nearox replied to Nightysin's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Looks to me what you are experincing is default Skyrim shadow behaviour. This video might help: I know for a fact that the INIs linked in the video description do not work. In fact nothing really works except, as Tech has said, ENB shadows. For that, you just grab the latest enb (254) and only enable shadows in enbseries.ini while having usepatchspeedwithoutgraphics=false in enblocal.ini. You're gonna see your framerate drop though, depending on your system. -

Well I'd just read all the documentation carefully at https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37981/? and go by trial and error. Merge 2 esps, then 3, then 4 etc and test each one individually. Would love to see a report on your findings, it could save us all here a lot of (double) work! -

There's no harm in that, all the options will still be present; there'll just be more options. -

No we don't sorry. What I can tell you though is that many of the mods included in REGS, as well as its patches, do not lend themselves very well for merging. It'd be possible but as Kelmych has said it requires manually checking the FormID's. Moreover, merging navmeshes is a no-go and many mods do have edited (or new) navmeshes. Seeing however that Neovalen has been merging several mods in his SRLE guide, at some point I might look into it for REGS. That said, if I ever were to do that it would be at the moment when the New Gameplay Overhaul pack is finished. As a final playthrough of Skyrim I want to do SRLE + REGS + Gameplay packs (and some other mods) and if that combination results in over 255 esps, then I'll get to it. -

I'd suggest to do a clean install of skyrim and follow either STEP or SRLE. -

What noobzor says :) Remember that neither BOSS nor LOOT checks the .esp files on the spot for deleted navmeshes. Those who maintain the tools are the ones who put that information in. -

We already looked at some of his mods during REGS development, and the consensus was then that they weren't to be included. Some of them have conflicting navmeshes with REGS mods, which would need fixing in the CK, others add only generic NPCs (and a follower) for the sake of adding generic NPCs... Which falls outside of the intentions of REGS. Besides, if you have inconsequential NPCs and 3DNPC you will already have a lot of extra, uniquely voiced, NPCs with numerous new quests and locations tied to them. -

Great that you're liking REGS :) As redirishlord mentioned already, judging from the comments of 2 of the mods I would definitely advise against using them. Overwriting USKP scripts is generally a bad idea (barring some exceptions of good mods) and deleted navmeshes would need fixing. Moreover, one of the more important criteria for including a mod was that it have properly voiced NPCs (preferrably unique) and some kind of meaning in the world (not only via radiant quests). Just adding dungeons with enemies for the sake of having more dungeons with enemies is not something that'd be part of regs. Also 1 of the mods seems to add an exterior area, which would require extensive testing. Also, those mods were last updated in the early half of 2012. While that does not necessarily mean there are issues with it, they do lack nearly 2 years of updates, compatibility and generally better modding standards. Finally, probably 90% of the highest quality mods are already included in REGS and provide a lot of extra content already. I don't think adding new dungeon mods will add a lot more to your game. In short: I'm pretty sure you can use those mods and you may not notice any issue. However you would have to try that out for yourself (and if possible please report here on the result). Just be sure to load them up in tes5edit along with your current esps and check what records they override. You can merge Apple Garden because it doesn't have navmeshes, but you cannot merge any esp that has navmeshes that affect the same area. You can only do that sucessfully in the CK. The REGS CRF patch definitely shouldn't be merged because it has a new navmesh for the Whiterun area to make CRF compatible with Nernie's. It also contains some landscape compatibiltiy fixes so that might explain the holes you are seeing. -

Agree with Aiyen that the PSU is bordering on the edge. The last thing you want to save any money on is your PSU. I'd use this tool and get a PSU that has 100 more raw MW (assumin at least 80-plus bronze) than the minimum requirement. Also PSUs tend to have 5 or more years of warranty and if you buy a proper one it can last you 10 years before it starts to degrade. Personally I have had a 850mw bronze standard PSU for 4 years now. It can run almost any kind of dual-GPU setup and can handle any kind of overclocking if you have a single GPU. -

The worst that could happen is that you'll have some misplaced/floating lights. You can most likely copy the XCLL values of ELFXEnhancer.esp in a new esp file (right-click column header of 3dnpc.esp and copy as override into new file. then drag the stuff from elfxenhancer.esp) and maintain the 3dnpc.esp in the boss default load order. You can then BUM the new esp to be sorted in the load order right after elfxenhancer. Just make sure you don't copy over any other stuff, in particular NPC records, navmeshes etc. -

Left pane = install order. Right pane = load order. Follow the instructions per specific .esp as layed out throughout the guide as well as at the final section. A Couple of ETaC ESPs are not in the guide atm but you should put those right after the master that is lwoest in the load order. generally they go after ETaC- Complete.esp if I'm not mistaken except for the etac-elfx patch which goes after elfx since elfx is lower in the load order. -

Are you sure you installed all the relevant ETaC patches and the REGS patches? Also, some of the ETaC patches that come with the installer of that mod do not have a BUM sorting rule specified in the guide so make sure you load them after their last master esp in the load order. Edit Here's my load order for REGS +SRLE -
Meh, didn't look further than the 1st page at search. One of the mods please delete then.

The windy snow animation finally doesn't look like smoke anymore... Really liking this mod. Appears more like a fix rather than just an improvement IMHO. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52986/? Skip to 0:30 to see most of the snow animation comparisons

I might release a patch ESP for a full install of both instead of updating the guide, but it's not completely finished yet. Haven't tried it (yet) but looks like something that could fit in with REGS. However I see on some screenshot the author added a building with doors, I hope he did interiors as well otherwise it's a no-go for me. I'm not a fan of player homes, so I haven't :P -

Thank you :) -
Hey Manga, version 6.0 is great. More performance and especially liking the new colors! Quick observation though: Light from fires and the sun seems to be a little bit too white on NPC skins, snow and some other lighter-colored texture types. Sometimes I jsut want to look away from the screen ebcause it's too intensily bright. I'm running pure SRLE atm. Was running 5.5 for qutie some time and never had this issue, which I suspect is due to having the manga palletee instead of the 6.0 black/white palelte. I checked brightness settings ingame and alse ran your brightness test included with the download. I made two screenshots to illustrate it:

Been doing a reinstall of SRLE and The Eyes of beauty no longer has 2 main files. Probably the other put 1 of them in the optional or miscellaneous category. What is the name of the 2nd main file? -

@cstarkey Compatibility patchign for SkyRe is gonna be very extensive. I once made a pack with SkyRe (you can check it in the packs subforums but it's discontinued now) and in fact did copy over all the SRLE faction and NPC level records to make them compatible with - what was necessary at that time - HLE and other mods. It's a massive amount of work and I did not succeed in completing that patch 100%. SkyRE has not been in my mod list for nearly half a year now so I don't remember exactly, but if you must include it then I'd advise you to only install the main module. Leave the NPC scaling etc. to SIC - HLE Edition: the author of SIC already did all the work for you and he did it extremely well. You will find that it matches quite good with the intended difficulty of SkyRe. That said, you'd still have to copy over quite a few records. I would leave the OBIS records largely untouced as OBIS kinda has a system of its own. Basically only use SkyRe for the great perk system. Even if you get SkyRe patching done, you'd still need to mess around significantly with the reproccer... Which needs a lot of custom patches (many are available on nexus) to get it working well. IIRC then rootsrat was also working on a SkyRe - RotE patch at the time, maybe he still has one laying around (I don't, sorry). Perhaps the New Gameplay Overhaul pack will have such a SkyRe patch in the future, youd have to ask there. Your best bet is to follow the gameplay overhaul pack as you'll have a group of people there that have in-depth knowledge about combining such mods. This is still the SRLE thread though so if you have further questions regarding this issue I suggest you open a new thread about it :) -
