ACCEPTED Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul (by kryptopyr)
kabepo replied to darkside's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
kryptopyr now has a Patreon page which you can subscribe to if you wish to support her work. Recently she has been working on the the CACO 2.0 update. -
Better Harvesting by grazman Better Harvesting a mod for more realistic harvesting of flora and dead animals. It does three things: 1. Changes the amount of items you harvest from flora to a realistic amount. 2. Changes the amount of items you find on dead animals/creatures to a realistic amount. 3. Removes finding gold coins, necklaces, rings, gems etc on dead animals. No more finding 10 gold coins or a silver necklace on a mudcrab! It supports USLEEP changes, and covers all the flora in all the DLC. It is compatible with Wiseman's Flora Fixes. It uses no scripts. It does not add any flora or ingredients to the game. It does not change skill tree perks. This mod is similar in some ways to Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul. But Better Harvesting is a much smaller and simpler mod.

ACCEPTED Relationship Dialogue Overhaul - RDO (by cloudedtruth)
kabepo replied to IvyMeadow's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Mod development has restarted. Quote taken from Nexus posts page for mod. -
A question regarding Wiseman303's Flora Fixes. The thread for the mod states Accepted for STEP Core v2.10 But the first post in this thread, which lists Mods Accepted for v2.10.0 Does not list Wiseman303's Flora Fixes. So which thread is correct, and which thread is outdated?

DROPPED A Quality World Map - With Roads (by IcePenguin)
kabepo replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
There was a new version, 9.0 Vivid, released in December last year, which may be worth looking at. For people who prefer clear skies there is also a new file "Add-On - Clear Map Skies", which is recommended over the one bundled in the 8.4 installer which could erroneously remove clouds from the game world. -
Step CORE or Patches installation questions/concerns
kabepo replied to Ellilea's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
I think you should break down what you are doing into smaller steps (excuse the pun). 1. Install STEP Core, following the guidelines. Test it and make sure everything is working OK. 2. Copy the STEP Core profile and modify it to work with Requiem. Then you can always go back to the STEP Core profile later and restart if you need to. You say that "NARC", "Consistent Older People", and Smart Souls are not recommended to run alongside Requiem. I follow the skyrimrequiem reddit and have not seen these mods mentioned as a problem, do you have links to the discussions? NARC has patches for Requiem, so I assume that means it must work fine with Requiem (with the patches loaded). There are STEP Packs "Requiem" and "Everything + The Kitchen Sink" and they do not mention problems using these mods. -
The green bar system works well and makes the distinction between Core and Extended mods very clear in the main guide. So that is why I was surprised and confused when I looked at the STEP Compilation detailed instructions and saw that the green bar system has been abandoned for the table of STEP Compilation mods. I can see it now, but at the time I did not even notice the "Core" column with the "true"/"false" values. I think it would be much clearer, and more consistent, it the green bar system was used for the STEP Compilation table of mods.

The STEP Compilation detailed instructions page shows the list of included mods, but it does not show which are STEP Core mods and which are STEP Extended mods. So when installing STEP Core which mods are you installing? Some random unknown mods in the list, or all of the list? From reading the Disease Descriptions forum thread I understand that Disease Descriptions is included with STEP Extended but not in STEP Core. I think the documentation would be clearer if the STEP Compilation page showed which mods are STEP Core mods and which are STEP Extended mods.

In the STEP v2.2.9.2 guide, in the "2.0. Launching STEP:Skyrim" section, it says to run LOOT one final time and to check 4 meta rules. It omits to mention the Realistic Water Two rule. RealisticWaterTwo.espLoad after: RelightingSkyrim_Legendary.esp

DROPPED Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul (by Shurah)
kabepo replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I think the detailed instructions for this mod should be updated to make it clear the mod is optional. Similar to ELE, the STEP Compilation installer will detect if the mod is or is not installed, and offer to install the appropriate STEP Compilation. The detailed instructions also have a Notice about "installing the STEP Patches". Well, STEP Patches are not directly installed, they are loaded by the STEP Compilation. -
ACCEPTED Enhanced Lighting for ENB (ELE) - LITE (by --JawZ--)
kabepo replied to hishutup's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I think the detailed instructions for this mod should be updated to make it clear the mod is optional, and that the STEP Compilation installer will detect it is not installed and offer to install the "STEP: Core Patch - No Enhanced Lighting for ENB" version. For example, if after your STEP setup, you wish to load additional mods for darker dungeons or fog removal, they will probably conflict with ELE, so you would need to remove ELE first. -
ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Book of Silence (by CaBaL)
kabepo replied to EisDrache's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The instructions for Book of Silence - Dragonborn DLC say "Notice -if the 4K variant is used these steps can be skipped." but in the mod files download page there are no 4K options. It looks to me like that notice is out of date and no longer relevant. -

I agree with aroth - moving the two files to the new directory manually is easier than downloading and installing the Staff of Magnus hotfix. Installing the hotfix results in two sets of Staff of Magnus files in two different directories! -
A GPU with 2GB VRAM is the minimum for STEP. Upgrade your GPU, load STEP Core, test STEP Core, then add additional mods to a stable core. You have many non-STEP mods installed and seem to be doing everything in reverse!

Thanks for the explanation.

I am trying to understand how tagging works (or is supposed to work). When I look at the mods tagged with 'TESTING' the list shows many 'ACCEPTED' mods. I would have thought that an 'ACCEPTED' mod is no longer in testing and should have its 'TESTING' tag removed. Similarly the list of 'ACCEPTED' mods contains some 'DROPPED' mods. It this intentional, or do many mods have the wrong tags?

SKYRIMLE Everything + The Kitchen Sink
kabepo replied to Mr_Moal's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
The Pack includes Harvest Overhaul by Omeletter and Xubarku. Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul (CACO) by kryptopyr - is a popular mod from a well known mod developer. CACO fully integrates the Harvest Overhaul mod. The problem has been that there was no Requiem patch for CACO. But just this week a new patch was released. Requiem - Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul Compatibility Patch by schofida https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/81899/? It is still very immature and untested. But it may be worth considering for the future.- 148 replies

SKYRIMLE Everything + The Kitchen Sink
kabepo replied to Mr_Moal's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
The Pack uses SM Drop Lit Torches, and has the comments: "Had a CTD related to this. Still confirming. For now, I would suggest uninstalling this mod, and relying on Wearable Lanterns for your dungeon lighting needs These two may also conflict. Investigation ongoing."There is a newer mod Simple Drop Lit Torches by Snotgurg https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56566/? which may be worth investigating.- 148 replies

STEP:Core 2.2.9.2 - Missing some helmets on some females
kabepo replied to rolandito's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Sorry, Ignore my previous 2 posts. They are Pack: Everything + The Kitchen Sink comments. I have too many web browser tabs open, and selected the wrong one. Apparently I do not have permission to Edit (or delete) my own posts! What is the logic behind that decision ? -

DROPPED Brawl Bugs Patch - Plugins - Modder Resource (by jonwd7)
kabepo replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The detailed instructions for Brawl Bugs Patch say: Only use the "Compatibility Edition" main file. Not necessary for Extended users that are installing Enhanced Blood Textures. This is not ideal since it means that installing STEP Extended means you need to change STEP Core. I think a better solution is to 1. Always install Brawl Bugs Patch 2. When installing STEP Extended, install Enhanced Blood Textures and hide the bsa file which contains contains jonwd7's brawl bug patch. I think that solution would still work fine even if Brawl Bugs Patch is replaced by Modern Brawl Bug Fix. -
DROPPED Brawl Bugs Patch - Plugins - Modder Resource (by jonwd7)
kabepo replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod is on the "Dangerous, Outdated and Superseded Mods" list https://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/523890681422555089/ The recommended replacement is Modern Brawl Bug Fix by Enai Siaion https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77465/? The description for Modern Brawl Bug Fix states: "Most people are familiar with the popular Brawl Bugs Patch. Unfortunately, it is several years old and some users are still suffering from the brawl bug anyway due to several errors in its implementation. It also has the potential to generate significant script load. Because its permissions do not allow redistribution, I made an improved fix from scratch. This mod replaces the Brawl Bugs Patch. You can safely update from it to the Modern Brawl Bug Fix."
