The search bar here has always been trouble for me too. I find what I'm looking for, but always mixed in halfway through the first and second page.

I've complained about this several times, I generally avoid it and use googles cached pages.

Instead of searching the entire forum, narrow your search. If you're searching for a mod topic, clicking into the Mods forum and then search. This will significantly reduce the results and narrow them down to what you're looking for. Try it out! Search for "player headtracking" from the main forum page. Then search again from within the Mod forum and notice the refined search. This isn't Google, got to be a little smarter when you search.  The advanced search will let you get really specific!
