I can't buy that Alduin is just an upscale. There's at least some color added.

Well, that's because the mod is not just an upscale. It's not an entirely new texture made from scratch, the author clearly states that he used Bellyaches as a base (and you can see that pretty easily in the texture) but it has seen some heavy work, so saying it's just some quick edit (mysterymodder style) is both wrong and unfair. And no matter what, it's still the most detailed dragon texture available. It's pretty obvious that it does not belong in STEP however in my opinion, it deviates too much from vanilla for that.

I'd agree that's it's probably not for STEP. Just going off the screens, that is.
