Discussion thread:

Lore-Based Loading Screens by Chesko

Wiki Link

This fits right in with STEP:

Mod = Lore-Based Loading Screens by Chesko

Description says it best

"Adds 160+ new loading screens steeped in Tamrielic lore. Become deeper immersed in the Elder Scrolls mythos with tons of quotes from in-game books (from Skyrim and past Elder Scrolls titles), history, mythology, and little-known facts about the world of Tamriel."

Loading screens needed a good addition, and here it is.

Lol, i'm way past 400. I'd give this a go if my loading screens weren't 2-3 seconds short on SSD.

Good find none the less.

How'd you get up to 400? o.0

Well, not 400 plugins/esp's but 400+ in MO including texture mods and updates. I worked on modding for 12hrs/day for a few weeks, but I'm waiting for 1.7 before finishing it. (And waiting for some mods to mature more)

wow ya'll have a ton more than me...I'm still using most of latest STEP guide, with additional mods that add combat enhancements (ACE+ASIS+DUEL Combt Realism+DEADLY DRAGONS+APOC+Empowered Magic)......

not on point with this topic, but perhaps a "combat pack" may one day be involved in STEP because common, vanilla fighting/combat tactics is pretty easy and needs (IMO) improvement by mods..

This concept would fit into what STEP is about adding "Gameplay mods that only enhance a vanilla aspect of Skyrim, bug-free and with minimal edits."

STEP has Immersion mods, combat mods that enhance Skyrim add to that immersion...

I have been using the above combo together and having best play-through yet. Perhaps another thread is needed for this subject but just typed it out since it was on my mind.

Grr... getting too off-topic >.>

My 215 is just the list in MO as well, although I sometimes combine mods such as aMidianBorn's armor replacers and include patches/optionals in one MO entry, so if I expanded everything it'd probably be a bit larger.  Next time I start from scratch I'll have to remember to not compress everything.

I just added a ton of mods and even with the 1.7 beta everything seems to be running fine.

A Combat Pack is definitely something we'll look into going forward.  If you'd like, start a thread for it so there's some groundwork when we get around to suggesting new packs.

Heh, this is getting a bit off topic now, but I'm also using ACE+ASIS+Duel+Deadly Dragons+APOC+Empowered magic. Also using Dragons Diversified, Magic Duel, OCS, SkyMoMod, and WARZONES. Those are the major ones I'm using that I can remember, but I'm waiting on SkyBash's next release though because I have a lot of other stuff that isn't covered by the bashed patch (next skybash should merge vender containers too). Hopefully will be able to fit in "HBE - Hardcore and Rebalanced Experience" after the next skybash without too many conflicts, but I'm worried it will screw with lists too much for jaysus, morrowloot, and crafting 300 (though most of HBE is modular)

we need the FCOM equivalent for skyrim eventually :D

Yeah FCOM was a nightmare even with all the tools we had at our disposal, so I can only imagine trying to figure something out like that right now.

I do think that Skyrim works a bit better with tons of mods installed than Oblivion, but we did get to start with Wrye Bash right out of the gate and that helped like crazy.

Anyway, back on topic, try Uncle Sheo's load screen replacer if you don't care about 'lore-friendly' when it comes to load screens, I started a thread for it a while back. Should compliment this and Jaysus Swords if you use that too.

Those ones are pretty funny, do they work side-by-side or is Uncle Sheo's only a replacer? Chesko's says that it adds the new messages, so is it possible to get Vanilla + Uncle Sheo's + Chesko's?
