Farlo Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Nexus Link Haven't had a chance to thoroughly look this one over (yay roadtrips) but the screenshots look promising, at least compared to Vanilla, although I can't recall if any included mods already do better.
torminater Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 hmm it sticks to vanilla look a lot, but for whatever reason he changed minor things like the buckle, or the engravings. it's a good high-res retexture though.
LeetMiniWheat Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Yeah, I'm not a fan of that celtic knot style buckle but otherwise looks great. Edit: though the wings on the helmet look kinda cheesy compared to vanilla
frihyland Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Its just a change in the engravings and colors, the armor itself is untouched. Looks better than vanilla for sure.
skwareballz Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 All of the adMinianBorn armors should be considered for STEP I think. There are iron, iron banded, steel, and steel plate retextures, spread over three mods. He pretty much changes all the little details of the armor to enhance them greatly. If you look close at his armors, you'll see that he has made the engravings on them different for male and female armors, which adds a little bit of depth.
rpsgc Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 This one's better https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6015
Neovalen Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 @rpsgc I disagree. The armor itself is a little "too fancy" as a vanilla type armor, considering the many npcs who wear steel plate. Not to mention the helmet on that one looks... odd. As a side note, I really wish more mod authors would make their lore-friendly armors for both sexes, there are some awesome armors out there but many of them only cater to one sex either male or female.

It's definitely not something I'd expect even "higher up" bandits to have access to.  If it were a standalone set and put on some of the Housecarls and other do-gooders funded by the court it might not look bad, but not as a general replacement.
EisDrache Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I'm actully useing all of aMidianBorn's work and i have to say it looks amazing in the game and the work done is even better i think better then whats provided in STEP and should be included. I also have to agree with Neovalen and Farlo about rpsgc choice that armor it just to shiney and nice for skyrim and the setting skyrim is in
skwareballz Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 It makes me wish that the Razorscales armor would get an update to standalone because it is a spectacular looking armor, but there is no female version. aMidianBorn has done such a good job of addressing both genders and making them every so slightly different. That other steel plate armor is just to fancy, good redesign of the engravings, but I don't know if it would fit with all the other armors I have installed.
Farlo Posted August 13, 2012 Author Posted August 13, 2012 Leather Armor is now out. Â One word: WOW!
Neovalen Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 All of the aMidianBorn armor series is top notch, I believe the author is moving on to Elven next.
skwareballz Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I hope he got a good price for his soul cuz textures that good are clearly black magic.
JudgmentJay Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 The leather armor retexture looks really nice. The Iron/Banded Iron is already covered by STEP (Not sure which mod exactly), but I'm willing to guess that the aMidianBorn texture is superior.
