WilliamImm Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Too bad the author seems incapable to responding with anything other than a.
DoYouEvenModBro Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Too bad the author seems incapable to responding with anything other than a.Yea wtf? Why does he keep saying a? Is this texture covered by Cabal or no? If not, I'll probably download it.
DoubleYou Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 It looks like somehow someone went and replace all his comments with the letter a. They weren't all like that before.
rootsrat Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 What do you think guys? Should we test this against STEP?
DoYouEvenModBro Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 What do you think guys? Should we test this against STEP?Yes.
EssArrBee Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 This was already tested I believe and was not picked up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
torminater Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 EDIT: Nevermind, I confused this one with another mod. Yes, so far there were no further updates, so unless somebody wants to prove we've missed sth about this mod, it'll not be moved to testing.
rootsrat Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 Where's the testing evidence then? I remember some flamer armor being tested and rejected, being too plastic or something, but I don't think it was this one. Unless I've missed the original thread in search results and this is a dupliacte thread! ::EDIT:: Wasn't it this one? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34395/? ::EDIT2:: Yes it was, it's here: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=2242
torminater Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Oh my bad, changed my post. I think this armor is a tiny bit too SHINY and in your face. If there's a candle a hundred feet away from you, you'll still glitter like a christmas tree. But you can say, that the snow elves who rever Auriel (god of the sun and archery (?!)), crafted those super shiny armors, so that they are closer to their deity. I really do like the shininess on the shield though - especially because of it's enchantment. Same for the bow. We need some screenshots in different lighting situations: 1. Dark dungeon 2. Torch lit dungeon 3. Sun light mid-day 4. Moon light 5. Overcast afternoon 6. Overcast night
EssArrBee Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 To me this is a deviation from vanilla style of the matte look. I'd bet it being elven armor that it has some moonstone and this looks shiny to me.
rootsrat Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 I hold my judgement until I see it in game. I will make some comparison shots as soon as I get some time, probably tomorrow or day after.
CaBaL Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 side by side textures impression: diffuse map is a vanilla tweak ... with data loss several errors on normal maps cubemap is completely wrong.... cubemask way too bright (flat) on style: usual misunderstanding of moonstone and similar materials....forced to be metallic instead of opalescent ... i'm sorry.... but with all the respect due to author (thanks for sharing) i have no wish to try ingame
torminater Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Well cabal, thx for the input. Me personally, I'll wait for your retex or another great mod that handles this armor set a bit more to my liking. Gesendet von meinem iPad mit Tapatalk

I agree on the shiny vs opalescent, now that you mentioned it. The rest is just a technical jargon I don't understand, so I'm just gonna take your word for it :) I'll still have a look in game, but I'm slightly put off towards this mod now.
