Spock Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Discussion thread:Audio Overhaul for Skyrim - Patches by michaelrwWiki LinkThis mod is actually quite self explaining. It provides patches for Audio Overhaul for Skyrim by David Jegutidse and many popular mods. Thanks Michaelrw for all your work on the patches!Use the complete edition to replace the AOS.esp from the main mod to save a plugin slot.STEP patch users do not need to get the extra patches for mods listed in the optional section. Those have been rebuilt from scratch into the STEP patches. Be aware of the mods patched on the wiki page (link above). EssArrBee: This mod is dropped unless updated to current version of AOS. Guide has been updated to reflect this.
z929669 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 We'd like opinions as to what patches should be used and which version of the mod ... there is one with merged plugin for AOS and an alternative patch for AOS. Merged plugin seems best, since it saves a plugin slot; however, we want to know the potential drawbacks.
DoubleYou Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I recommend the "Complete - Legendary Version - Dawnguard AND Dragonborn files" from the optionals, as that's what I use, and it seemed to be okay when I looked it up in TES5Edit. I haven't tested the other versions, except for certain of the mod patches which don't count.
z929669 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Good, that was my thinking. For STEP, we wil also want to consider some of the other AOS patches ... or EssArrBee can reconcile in the STEP Patches to obviate the need for AOS-Patches entirely.
EssArrBee Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I'll have to look it over with the updated version of the modlist. I've been testing and playing around with this stuff all day though, so I need a couple hours to do something else, mostly drink, maybe eat. Beer is the bread group right?
z929669 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Indeed it is. Everything found in a loaf of bread can be found in a glass or two of beer (with benefits). I am ingesting mine as I type.
DoubleYou Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 The instructions indicate that non-STEP patch users for core should also download the Improved Weapon Impact EFFECTS patch. That mod is not in core, so that patch mention should be moved to the extended section, right?
EssArrBee Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Yes that is my fault and I'll fix it when I get a chance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
EssArrBee Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Should be okay now, and added some stuff to OP per the STEP Workflow.
z929669 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Should we be using this, given that we have the STEP Patches? It may be redundant, as this adds several plugins.
EssArrBee Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 The guide should be updated with the correct directions. The complete legendary patch is a replacer .esp for the main mod, but with the DLC added in.
z929669 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Should we be using this, given that we have the STEP Patches? It may be redundant, as this adds several plugins.@SRB I ask this again. Do we even need AOS patches, since we have the STEP Patch??EDIT: NM, I see now :P Also, this and AOS were both missing from the 2.2.8 guide until just this minute. Where did you have them in your install when you created the patch??
EssArrBee Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 They weren't missing, the propagation list shows empty slots when we use redirects from the old name to the new. I changed the names from Audio Overhaul to Audio Overhaul for Skyrim. The AOS patches are for the DLC. It is a replacer for the main mod's AOS.esp. There are a ton of other patches on the page, but I merged those to the STEP Patches. Those patches are listed on the STEP Patches wiki page. I will probably have to add something for non-patch user on some of the mod pages.
DoYouEvenModBro Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I don't currently have this set up so I can't answer this myself...but for anyone that is NOT using the STEP patch, do you guys know if BOSS currently sorts all of the AOS patches correctly yet?
