z929669 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Discussion thread: Skyrim Performance Plus by Vergis Wiki Link This mod has been added to the STEP Compilation. I'd like to suggest Pine Needles FX Rainfall FX Snowfall FX Aspen Leaves FX for inclusion in STEP, as they all give a little performance boost without significantly affecting the quality of the visuals. Link is always helpful if you're gonna suggest something https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=6387 And yes, they're quite nice, I use the highest resolution options there is there (so I don't lose any real noticeable quality) and it seems to work quite nice for example in The Rift with all the aspens etc
frihyland Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Still using inline? I found moderation options to be much more powerful and reliable.
z929669 Posted May 17, 2012 Author Posted May 17, 2012 Yep, even a Caveman can do it... I suppose it is time to evolve to that level :|
Spiffyman Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I'll add my voice that these be at least mentioned in STEP. Or maybe if a STEP performance page were created on the wiki, these should definitely go there
phazer11 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 This has been bugging me for a while now. Correct me if I'm wrong but can't everything this mod does be done via DDSOpt? Heck I'd imagine a batch file could be created as well as a set of settings for the guide. Thoughts?
Kelmych Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I looked at one of the textures with Compressonator and the vanilla texture and the one in Skyrim Performance Plus seemed different when viewed at the same resolution, but I didn't look at a whole set of them. The textures have animation, and I'm not sure whether the Skyrim Performance Plus textures are simple reduced resolution versions of the vanilla textures or edited versions that are designed for use at lower resolution.
phryxolydian Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I use these but I was wondering if they're being used cause ENBoost uses some other kind of files for these, no?
TechAngel85 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 This mod is just texture improvements as far as I'm aware. (Smaller textures without loss of quality to improve performance) I'm not aware that ENB Boost includes any textures...could be wrong bc I don't use ENB Boost on my laptop.
