Abrawlica Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Wow why bother playing if you can recruit 100+ followers, thats just stupid.
Neovalen Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I tend to agree. I personally set the max to 3.
EssArrBee Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Three plus a dog, one of those Dawnguard dogs. I think I like teams of three from playing all the awesome Bioware RPGs over the years. It's really conditioned me that way.
Nearox Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 3 is my absolute maximum as well. Besides, I guess that most mods altering combat, animation, behavior and npcs in general also apply to followers. Wouldn't really want to carry 10 scriptbuddies with me tbh.
WilliamImm Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I'd guess I'd want to go with Serena, Vilja, one of the Housecartels, and a Dawnguard battle dog. Man, fun times..
phazer11 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Personally I'd set EFF to 2 followers plus an animal companion. Though I'll probably curse till I'm blue in the face since the vanilla dungeons weren't made for more than one follower; and even then it's nearly impossible to move around some of the times!
zodden Posted September 22, 2013 Author Posted September 22, 2013 I tend to run with 1 or 2Â companions only. Anything other than that and the game becomes too easy regardless of difficulty. I like how EFF manages the companions I do have at any given moment. That wheel is great.
torminater Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Just for fun I once had 10 simultaneous followers. It was impossible to enter dungeons, but once upon a time 2 dragons attacked my little warband. My followers all had pretty good gear on (my character was lvl 35, so not übergear). 2 dragons attacked (deadly dragons+SkyRe) and in about 4 minutes I had no followers left. I actually managed to kill the dragons, but it took me 30 minutes on my own. Still, I'ld say 3 followers including any pets is an absolute max for general playing. It will be incredibly hard to hold on to them throughout the game though. Better have some reserves ready :D
swiftfoxmark2 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I'm really glad to see this mod being updated. Of all the follower overhaul mods, this one was the one I found most useful. Changing a follower's configuration via the dialog was always a pain and this one gave a proper menu. Anyway, the updates made to this mod are great. We can see our follower's health, stamina, and magicka in combat, which is the most useful addition in my opinion. I tend to have no more than one follower because more than one and it just gets too easy. The great thing about this mod is that it is fairly easy to alter a follower's AI. This means, if you want Lydia to hang back and use her bow, you can actually tell her to do that while you engage bandits head on. I've heard expired is trying to get followers to actually heal you. That would also be a nice change, given that the Vanilla follower system seems to be aimed at making them cannon fodder.
Noobsayer Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Is there something I'm missing with this where dogs are concerned? I don't have the option to tell them to wait or to set their importance n such with this. I do prefer the cleaner menu over AFT but I don't really want to add another ESP just to make the dogs essential (because eff my human followers, but my dogs ain't dying :P ).
phazer11 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 What version are you using? I know I was able to set the dogs as essential withe beta,
Noobsayer Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Using the beta. Meeko doesn't have any options other than the vanilla ones.Â
EssArrBee Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 That is weird because the Dawnguard dogs have a companion wheel with full options. Maybe the Skyrim dogs are different.
Noobsayer Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Hmm. Well that's a bummer. I like setting up a camp and leaving the dog to "guard" it while I go through caves n dungeons nearby. Companions make Skyrim less lonely but I don't actually care for them much in combat, lol.
phazer11 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I always use one of the dogs from like say Markaarth Stables and use it. Maybe Meeko is bugged?
