rootsrat Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24460//? Great fog mod, compatible with CoT. Good candidate for packs. I'm including this in my playthrough to test it.
statmonster Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 There's a bunch of fog mods - which one(s) are best? Which ones are compatible with what? The morning fog mod seemed attractive a bit "lighter" than this.
rootsrat Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 This one and Morning Fogs are compatible. MF used to be part of this mod in fact, but then got separated to form a new mod.
Aiyen Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 the MF mod has a good idea, however there are just too many locations where you can see that it is in fact just a square cell that has fog put on top for a specific duration. Especially in solitude is the issue bad. Also the mod is not made for use with ENB. I do use it, and it almost works with my settings, but there still are one glaring issue with the LOD fog vanishing after a set distance. However this is only apparent on the tips of mountains if you stand near the bottom. Or if you stand on say dragonsreach and look into the distance. Id still recommend it for use with ENB as long as the settings are made for it. For vanilla it might be a bit extreme though, but worth trying out.
Wormheart Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 My video card (MSI Twin Frozr III r7950 3GB) always ramps up the fans with the vanilla fog (especially around that swamp near Solitude) or I'd install this, the screenshots look really nice.
DoYouEvenModBro Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 There is already a fog patch for CoT. Is this a replacement for that or compatible? https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/39799/?
Aiyen Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 In general I really like his alteration, gonna try out the newest version now... I still use an old one. It does fix foggy weather by quite a bit, and have a great atmosphere as the screenshots also suggest.

I've watched the video and I'm hoping he's fixed the texture clipping on the fog (lines on the ground - changelog says he has) and made it not so obvious that you're running through "layers" of textures in the air. Watch the first video to see what I'm talking about in regards to the layering effect (it's very obvious you're running through a texture layer).
Garfink Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I love this mod, I think given the limitations of the engine, it does an admirable job of creating the illusion of fog that is believable.
