Hi Sheson, I believe my brain wants to absorb the information you've given me!! I've made little progress by tweaking the respective command lines, so SSEEDIT would have no choice but to rely on my path to my GOG Skyrim SE!! Unfortunately, as you can see here, I've received an error that it couldn't detect my ini file despite I most certainly have both skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini... That or it could do with the fact that SSEEDIT doesn't even support GOG yet, I could try make another attempt in making it work by following through that GOG forum guide to get it working but I'm still a bit spooked about previously getting rid of some files to try get SSEEDIT working which didn't soooo

Or I could also try get the source code from Github, although there's no file that's specifically called source code but I can always have another look. I've tried getting Registry Editor to recognise Skyrim SE by launching both Skyrim.exe and Skyrim launcher without the use of my mod manager Vortex, but with no success. I also simply created a new REG, called it GogSkyrim.reg with path G:\Skyrim Anniversary Edition but to no avail oof.

I'm going to continue browsing the guides you've provided me and hopefully I'll come up with a more better understanding from what I read, I can probably tell you'll just recommend me to stick with those guides but perhaps a little bit of your wisdom/knowledge would do about the issues I brought up? If not, I'll just stick with the guides no prob.

UPDATE: If you check one of my images, I believe I properly put everything in place for SSEEDIT despite not being able to use it as Registry Editor still refuses to acknowledge my GOG Skyrim SE as a pathway. But damn, this feels good accomplishing SOMETHING and putting together these command lines are so COOL and EASY!!!! XD

This is not a generic computer support channel.

As already explained, xEdit, xLODGen, TexGen, DynDOLOD support the GOG version via command line arguments.

It is unclear what GOG forum guide you are referring to. There is no reason or requirement to get rid of any files to set the command line arguments for the GOG version.

Source code it used to compile a program with a compiler. There is no reason or requirement to get the source code to set the command line arguments for the GOG version.

Using the launcher to set the Bethesda registry key only works with the Steam version of the game.

Making up random key names will obviously not work. Use the command line arguments instead.

I suggest to ask a life person to teach rudimentary computer knowledge or maybe to watch videos that explain how computers/windows etc. work.

Do not post screenshots of text. Copy and paste the text/logs instead as explained in the first post and/or https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum

It is unclear with which command line arguments the tool was started with. Copy/paste the actual command line arguments you entered into Vortex if you require help with them.

What both my SSEEDIT and DynDOLOD have in common is that they've gotten the error loading plugin list. Everything else is working fine, it's just this error alone despite putting in the correct command line arguments for SSEEDIT, DynDOLOD, Registry Editor; all starting with -sse followed with the commands; -o, -m, -p and -d, which I've properly put in the full commands of each thanks to Command Line Argument | DynDOLOD

And I'm just doing some reading here, but if what your fellow admin is saying to be true, can I attempt this to conclude a solution?

I found some other LOD issues from the same generation. For some reason, I am getting a total mismatch for the LOD model for sbluepalacegate.nif during winter (but during the other seasons it looks fine). I am using a custom form swap for this object during winter, but the replacement is using the same mesh. I tried using mesh mask rules to get LOD for this building, perhaps I screwed something up? The generated object LOD mesh can be found here, please tell me if you need anything else: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/yui7f3dhiqo5y62eylu30/Tamriel.4.-16.24.WIN.bto?rlkey=fohj4dpjul471rmn3e4i13afh&dl=0

Moreover, Mistveil Keep is not showing up on the map, and I have no idea what is causing it. It is getting level 4 and level 8 LOD, but not level 16 LOD. I am using Open Cities, but I don't know why that would matter. As far as I can tell, the generated DynDOLOD files are not touching the object, nor its worldspace references.

Read the first post and/or https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which entire DynDOLOD log and debug log to upload when making posts.

Post a useful screenshot of the full model(s) with more informative console and of the LOD model(s) as explained at https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#In-Game-Screenshots

Also upload ..\DynDOLOD\Logs\DynDOLOD_SSE_Object_Report.txt

The Fatal: Error loading plugin list: <EDirectoryNotFoundException: The specified path was not found [C:\Path\To\Old\Game\Data\]> message means the plugins listed in the used plugins.txt are not found in the reported data folder.

You have not provided a copy and paste of the command line arguments from your Vortex settings as requested.

As repeately explained, when using the GOG vesion updating the Windows Registry key of the Steam version is pointless. Do not install tools/programs into special Windows folders like C:\Program Files or C:\Users\... to avoid issues with UAC or Anti Vir etc.

Here you go.

SSELODGen_log.txt

SSEEdit
Command Line: -sse -o"c:\Output\" -m:"c:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\" -p:"c:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\plugins.txt" -d:"g:\skyrim anniversary edition"

DynLODOD
Command Line: -sse -o"c:\Output\" -m:"c:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\" -p:"c:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\plugins.txt" -d:"g:\skyrim anniversary edition"

TextGen
Command Line: -sse -o"c:\Output\" -m:"c:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\" -p:"c:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\plugins.txt" -d:"g:\skyrim anniversary edition"

I'm going to say something that I believe to be smart but you can correct me on that. Rather the command -d:"c:\GOG Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\Data\" it's -d:"g:\skyrim anniversary edition" for me as that's where my Data directory is really at. Also now showing you that I have gained some knowledge of command line arguments, whenever I would run say SSEEdit, a pop up message that reads: "There are no modules in the data folder." appears, that means more research for me!!

I edited your post to include the message from the log file.

There is no reason to add or start the windows registry editor from Vortex. It also does not understand xEdit command line arguments.

The xEdit, TexGen and DynDOLOD command line arguments all have the same errors:
- the -o command line argument is missing the colon : after the o and before the starting double quote "
- the -d command line argument does not point to a "Data" folder and does not end with a trailing back slash \ as in the examples.

The log reports "Using Skyrim Special Edition Data Path: g:\skyrim anniversary edition\".  It is very likely that there are no game plugins in the folder g:\skyrim anniversary edition\. The game plugins are most likely in g:\skyrim anniversary edition\Data\ so that should obviously be the path defined by the -d command line argument.

Which paths are the correct ones and to set them correctly is up to you. That is why the instructions explain to "Replace [USERNAME] and the INI and Data folder paths accordingly for the actual setup."

Hello,

Getting black LOD on some trees in the forgotten vale. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Really at a loss as to what to do here.

The debug log in the archive has 0 file size.

Check if textures\terrain\lodgen\seasonal landscapes - unfrozen.esp\winteraspen05sum_000fcf3b.dds and/or winteraspen05sum_000fcf3b_1.dds is black, too.

If the textures were generated by TexGen, check if generating the billboards with this test version https://mega.nz/file/wNoSTCwC#kGPtekW-Nl5H6uPaASv2dMbiRGeinp5inSbQbxMXYmw fixes the black textures and report back.

Those were actually black too, but the test version of TexGen fixed the black LODs. There simply wasn't anything in the debug log, not sure what that is about, it's just empty - even after the latest run. Thanks for your help and the quick reply!

Hello.

I have a problem with DynDOLOD 3 and Open Cities Skyrim.

After I generate the lod with DynDOLOD 3, in the new OS Windhelm, more precisely in the market place, some weapons and items from the market stalls are scattered all over the place. See the image bellow.

https://imgur.com/a/ePIZChd

I've tested it with a the bare minimum of mods. Load order and plugins are as following:

https://imgur.com/a/G554pWd

I've generated the LOD with advanced method and after I've clicked the HIGH button as instructed in the readme.

What am I doing wrong? Or is this a know issue?

Cheers!

Read the first post and/or https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which DynDOLOD log and debug log to upload when making posts.

Do not post screenshots of mod managers to show the load order. Use https://modwat.ch/ instead.

See https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#In-Game-Screenshots how to make useful screenshots of full models with more informative console to see which plugin adds a reference and its base record and which is the last plugin to overwrite it. Do comparing screenshots without DynDOLOD output active.

What rudinmenatary troubleshooting have you done that makes you believe this has something to do with DynDOLOD? https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Rudimentary-Troubleshooting
