I'd say that you guys should also look at all the mountain and rock texture mods that Pannonian has done lately. He has about seven mountain and rock texture mods, including a nice 1k 2k 4k Vanilla HD in both dxt and uncompressed and a much better normal map. He also said he got permission to use the meshes from Better Rocks and Mountains for the next version, but I don't know if he is actively working on that or not.

I've been using the 2k uncompressed and they look great except that it doesn't really match when there is snow on the rocks. I don't think I've yet to find the right combination of of snowy rocks yet. Some of these mods have way higher resolution than the snow covering them which is an issue that I think most of these modders might be over looking when they design 4k rocks covered by 1k snow.

This is the mod that we discussed a while back' date=' coming to the conclusion that much of the artwork style didn't fit in with the rest of Skyrim and looked out-of-place. That discussion can be found here: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=1212[/quote']

Although Serious HD is now built around this' date=' so we should look again within this context.[/quote']

Yeah... not a fan of that decision myself... ah well... will adjust as needed.

IIRC, many of the alternative variants of the textures by the same author have been overlooked. I posted in the thread that the light version of the mod looks much better (on screenshots, at least), but nobody bothered responding to that.

There was no proper comparison of current STEP mountain textures and alternative Realistic Rocks and Mountains textures. I thought most of them looked brilliant.
