JudgmentJay Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31463 Gets rid of the word "Empty" if a container is empty along with the accompanying diamond icon. It also has a standalone optional file to get rid of the key prompt/keybind next to the action. I'm not sure if the key prompt removal portion of the mod will work alongside STEP's interface mods, but someone should test it out! If nobody has by the time I get home I will. EDIT: The key prompt optional is packed in a .bsa along with an .esp. It's basically just transparent image replacers so it can be unpacked and installed as loose files without the .esp.
PioneerRaptor Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 While it is good for immersion, I think the "Empty" tag is one of those cases where convenience trumps immersion. Think about how many containers you open when you play and how much time is saved by being able to skip containers that you already know are empty.
JudgmentJay Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 I'd have to try it out in-game to see how it feels. I'm more excited about getting rid of the key prompts assuming it works. That part is completely standalone by the way.
JudgmentJay Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 If anyone's curious, if you're using any mod that installs hudmenu.swf, they key prompt and the diamond next to "Empty" will still appear. Other than that it works great.
Noobsayer Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I just stumbled across this little gem. I don't ... really have anything to add to that other than it works as advertised and I think it's a nice touch.

Kuldebar Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Isn't it highly invasive considering what it is changing?

I am all for immersion and I did try this mod before, but it proved to be annoying rather than effective.
Noobsayer Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Isn't it highly invasive considering what it is changing? Nope, check it out in TES5Edit. Very small change. :) I've been using it and I don't personally find it tedious -- but then I never searched every single container anyway.
Kuldebar Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 -- but then I never searched every single container anyway.Yeah, I started playing more "in-character" myself and I no longer grab every single thing in dungeon runs. My character, who is strapped for cash usually in the first 10-15 levels grabs high priced items but not every scrap as I used to tend to do. It also helps me not to use the Pouch/Bandolier add-ons that often could gave me some ridiculous weight capacity increases.
PioneerRaptor Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I only take expensive items as well in the beginning, but I still check all containers. Never know what's in them! 1
CJ2311 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I don't know how you guys manage to do that, whenever I'm a dungeon, I feel obligated to look around every corner and loot every container. You never know, there might be a septim under that boulder at the other side of the dungeon. And it's even worse with games like Fallout where even garbage items can be used to repair stuff... I need to run through every area twice or thrice to loot everything that's not nailed to the ground :(
Noobsayer Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 For some reason I can skip containers in Skyrim. I am obsessive about any sort of game mechanic that requires collecting, though. Or like those stupid Riddler puzzles in Arkham Asylum, god I wasted SO MUCH OF MY LIFE doing those things, lol. /offtopic I think this is gonna be one of those polarizing mods where either you really like it or it drives you batty, lol.
