Sage77 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I need to install any optional files? "Bow and Arrow Sounds", "EnhancedBlood-ImprovedCombatSounds", "ICS no splatter"?
rootsrat Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 If you use Enhanced Blood then of course install the patch. For Bow and Arrow and No Splatter it's the matter of personal preference if you like the sounds. STEP guide only recommends the main file.
EssArrBee Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 We will address the the conflict with EBT in our own STEP Patches.
acsempronio Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 We will address the the conflict with EBT in our own STEP Patches. So, does 2.2.8 Core patch have the ICS - EBT patch integrated? Â It is not shown to be the case on this page:Â https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP_Patches If so, would it be possible to have a list of ALL patches integrated into the STEP Core patch?
varrgas Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Yeah , close to same question. i must instal "EnhancedBlood-ImprovedCombatSounds" or not ?
EssArrBee Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 It is actually included in the STEP Extended Patch. I just overlooked it when making the Patches page.
varrgas Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 hm, ok, that will be great if we can find a topic with what is inclued in the STEP patch, not only the merged esp and compatibility patch . Or maybe there is nothing else ^^
Spock Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Just tested this briefly against AOS in samples and ingame. Doing sword fighting myself AOS is much more realistic.I would recommend removing ICS in favor for AOS. Edited March 31, 2014 by Spock
EssArrBee Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 We should only drop irrelevant mods from the current list and decide on these mods for 2.2.9. They don't have the same problem as SOS-Dungeons does. Plus, if we start dropping a bunch of stuff retroactively it creates a huge problem for me updating the current patches.
z929669 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Whatever is simplest for maintenance is fine by me, so if this is not made completely redundant, then we should keep it around, regardless of release. If it is completely redundant though, we should drop it.
EssArrBee Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I just think this mod and Improved sheathe is not about redundancy as much as preference. SoS-Dungeons has issues, with compatibility and other things too. AOS now fills that void and it makes sense to remove SoS now. These mods don't have that problem with long sessions of patching weather and region data. They should be up for evaluation, but for the next release.
Spock Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I just think this mod and Improved sheathe is not about redundancy as much as preference. For 2.2.9:Sure, especially sound is very subjective! I would go with the more realistic variant for STEP, because it's very hard to recommend sounds if you have two high quality samples.AOS reduces the gamey feel of the combat sounds. Impacts sound less squishy bashes cling shorter and harder, blocks sound more like cold steel on cold steel. For me this leads to a more raw, brutal feel in combat. I think it's an improvement in atmosphere.
