no Frankly textures don't cover Helgen reborn or Falskaar. I will have to spawn in some helgen reborn and Falskaar shield to compare but by that is might be worth going with CC's

Keep in mind I am ASSUMING that CC provides shields for those areas - I know there are patches for them, so that's what makes sense, but I have not physically checked.

New release of SSE Engine Fixes v2.12.1.5.50.  Can I "test myself" the update as I have time today to play with that or it is confirmed that dyndolod or other mods also cause a problem...

Always feel free to test and report - that is what this forum is all about. :)

In regards to an older post about the cinematic dragon soul absorbtion:

I manually exchanged the voiced animation with the somewhat annoying sound to the silent one also contained in the zip file and for me it's perfect now.

DIdn't know it had a silent version - will look into this, and thanks for the tip! EDIT: FIle is now hidden by author because he's tired. WHYYYYYY!?

when you run relinker do you make sure MO2 is closed? another thing where is your MO2 Installed on your system?

Yes, it's closed. My MO folder is located in steamapps\common\Mod Organizer, next to SSE game folder.

Great that you had it closed. Bad that you have MO installed where you do. Needs to be away from the install folders. Not that it should have any effect on Relinker working.

Well it looks like the update work flawlessly as far as I could tell. No problem loading save and no other observable bugs. Finished my dungeon and exterior walk to another location to continue quest.  As I have a very bad cold, I might play intermittently between my rest to test further... I will only report if something bad.

ok, some quick Screenshot to consider:

Shields of the hold (Riften) that we know is bugged: https://imgur.com/bA3st0o

CC's HQ Guard Shields SSE the Shadriss proposes: https://imgur.com/n10lS29

OR we pull Shields of the hold and simply stick with Frankly HD Stormcloak and City Guards the is already in the guide: https://imgur.com/pRVfgWu

My vote goes for using Frankly HD Stormcloak and City Guards.

Also found this and think we need it as well 4k and 2k HD Juniper looks great and MO reports there is nothing else touching these textures.

Why is having MO located in the Skyrim install folder bad? Thats where I have been putting MO ever since I started using it with zero issues.

So is there an alternative for merging plugins in the guide?

Merge Plugins Standalone doesn't copy assets and no one knows why so I'm sort of stuck.

EDIT: I was randomly trying out debugging to see if that could help and produced this error that might explain it:

"Failed to merge Audio Patches Merged, Access violation at address 008FB2A0 in module 'MergePlugins.exe'. Read of address 00000000".

The alternative to merging plugins with assets is to perform the merge but put the esp files of the merged plugins into the optional field with MO2 thus leaving the assets active but not the .esp files.

I think Frankly might lose out to CC based on support for shields for Helgen Reborn and Falskaar, but that's Lexy's call, of course.

As to the other, it's because the whole point of MO and it's VMS system is to keep the base install folders as clean an untouched as possible. I know it can be done, and many like you have... and others have reported problems by doing so. Most guides that I've seen recommend keeping MO off by itself for that reason.

Which is how I do it... more clicks for rebuilding, but far less problems.

Hmm that's how I've done it so far, the original mods are active when assets are available, the ESPs are put in optional. Only issue is I can't run Relinker cause there are no assets in the merged folder.

Enabling debug in MP gave me this though:

"Failed to merge Audio Patches Merged, Access violation at address 008FB2A0 in module 'MergePlugins.exe'. Read of address 00000000".

If you read the installation of MO2 you will find it should be located at the ROOT of your drive.

that happens all the time usually I just delete the merge and do it again.

So if I understand correctly, assets not copying aren't a problem cause I can just keep the original mods active? And therefore won't need to run Relinker?

you will still need to run relinker since the esp for the script has been renamed that is the whole point of it.

Do you happen to know how to solve this error with Relinker? If I point MO2 to where the actual program is it tells me no such file exists cause the profiles are on another drive, but then it gives me the below error when I point to where the SSE mods are.

I need to know Mod Organizer's root folder [E:\Program Files (x86)\ModOrganizer]
--->
I need to know Mod Organizer's Mods folder [E:\Program Files (x86)\ModOrganizer\mods]
--->

Alright, let's get started.

First, search the Mods folder for merged plugins.
  File "<string>", line 222, in <module>
File "configparser.py", line 778, in get
  File "configparser.py", line 1138, in _unify_values

<class 'configparser.NoSectionError'>: No section: 'General'
Press Enter to exit...

get MO2 Out of Program files. Steam too if it is in there.

Edit this is how my Relinker setup looks https://imgur.com/0tqzf3z
