I think the guide should stick with vanilla females, they look a little weird but theres less mods and less (non-)issues.

There is a fix for vanilla female bodies inside Ruffled Feather

 

There are also inconsistencies with different body mods when comparing to vanilla.

  • Faces dont match up
  • (unavoidable) neck seem
  • other armors
  • extra npcs

Anyone using Clockwork Castle?

 

Seems to have navmesh conflicts with LOTD. Is that something to be concerned about?

I haven't looked at it in-game but from the amount of conflicts I'm betting a patch will be necessary. If you'd like to test it for me that would be cool and let me know what kind of conflicts there might be.  I would load Clockwork before Legacy and let Legacy win the navmesh conflicts for the test.

I have a feeling EveryBody's Different Redone would require some work to understand how it operates to properly take advantage of it and its also skyproc which isnt brilliant. I tried looking at it a year or so ago and never really looked into it further than the documentation.

 

I think WSCO was for UNP which is still anorexic but is not "enhanced" like the others.

It looks like WSCO is for vanilla bodies, though there are UNP, CBBE, and Better Male options.  EBDR would require some work up front, but the result of a single no-CR-and-no-merges-needed plugin is making me consider the effort to be worth while.  I've already looked at it some, and once the packs and ini settings are made, they could be redistributed easily.  E.g. (1) download and install EBDR, (2) download SRLE LotD pack for EBDR, (3) run EBDR.  The guide user would not have to fiddle with setting up EBDR beyond that, unless they wanted to customize something.

WSCO has two styles Occidental and Oriental... The main files apply the styles to Vanilla body while the optional files apply the edits to the CBBE/UNP and BetterMales bodies.

 

You can choose to apply styles seperately to each gender... Male occidentals and female orientals for example.. or only change men... etc.

 

WSCO only applies changes to the below Non-Player Character (Actor) records.  I personally am not that concerned by changing the face of every npc in skyrim... Even though WSCO doesn't specifically EDIT every individual NPC they still benefit from the body/texture/preset/etc type of changes from WSCO.. they just keep their original face morphs and outfits and headparts ya know?

 

I could see adding maybe one additional overhaul to my loadout to catch the people that get interacted with the most but I'm currently trying to create a simplified but still just as rich gameplay wise version of srle lotd for my playthroughs.  The NPC Retexture merge was just ridiculous to conflict resolve against... it gives me nightmares lol.

EBD looks like its going to have an update which is cool. It looks like this mod improved quite a bit and has quite a few plug-n-play packs.

From the users side of things it looks easy but to tell some how to use it or to troubleshoot issues, one has to know how the mod works on a greater level.

 

Its probably something that should be looked at in greater detail but I wounldnt mind some comparisons or suggestions.

 

I was giving Skyproc a hard time because I don't really like them.

xEdit scripts are okay, but are not the best solution.

I've only tried the Occidental male and females on Vanilla shaped bodies. In my current load order I only needed to CR WSCO against USLEEP I haven't tried dropping it into a full SRLE LOTD installation yet but you can atleast grab the modular usleep patches I added at:

I'm with hishy... I removed all of the unpb armor/body stuff and the npc retexture stuff and am just running WSCO.  Way simpler to maintain and still looks nice.

Really love the simplicity of WSCO. I followed Cal's advice in this video and used Inhabitants of Skyrim, then let WSCO take priority for the NPCs it covers. Coverkhajiits and FAR, of course for the beast races.

Heh, great minds think alike.  Thanks for the link, I'll check it out as I was thinking about re-installing IoS and trying it as a base.  Good to know it should work well.  I'm using Coverkhajiits and FAR for beasts as well... didn't think to mention it.

Yeah I use IoS as my base for NPC modifications as well.

OK we won't change nothing to the bodies then.

Also NPC retextures is another project and now we are working on a different one... too many things at once and we wont be able to do anything properly.

Is this a typo in the guide for Unique Flowers And Plants section? "Right Click on the esm and Apply Filter for Cleaning and wait until finished processing" What esm file? The install says to use the esp in the optionals.

What do you guys do when certain NPCs get killed? I just reached riverwood on a new game (again) and some wolves raid the town lol no idea why and Hjoromir and some other NPCs died.
