  1. close MO2 go to C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Fallout4 make a backup and delete the contents start game through steam when you get to main menu exit open MO2 go to download tab find a download you already have installed run it and choose replace. try FO4edit NOTE: the changes in the folder you removed are NMM Specific and are required By NMM and by removing them NMM will not work correctly. These files will have to be replaced if you want to use NMM
  2. Do you have NMM installed on the PC?
  3. Ahhhh I did not think of that I use C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 I'll have to include that info in the wiki thnaks
  4. 3rd fix is jsut a check you can copy your stuff back
  5. you can install it anywhere and it will see the FO4 install directory (as long as it's a legitamate copy) Did any of the fixes work? was there a c:\program there? Did you try download tes5edit again and expand a clean version to the folder and rename the executable again?
  6. One other thing when MO2 fails in life it creates a folder called c:\Program with nothing in it, if it is present you need to close MO2 then delete it then start MO2 if the c:\Program is present F4SE won't start and MO2 wont run external application mod orders wont be saved etc, etc, etc.
  7. Looks like you have it right, try I'm assuming the issue/glitch is because of the Portable to Profile change over. The permissions on the files get screwie. Other than that you may need to See how that goes. Last resort Oh and by the way when you say 'usual way' I assume you mean just run FO4Edit outside of MO2 and you see the plugin selection box with Fallout4.exe and all the DLC's and nothing else.....
  8. Yea I'm aware that there are updates on the Nexus site for the mods, I Update using the check all for update each day. If Booting FO4 from Mo2 gets broken I will update the Guide ASAP for a fix/workaroundI will not update 30 mods every time they get updated on Nexus unless there is (MAJOR) change to the filename or Fomod. (I will "get around" to it maybe weekly....") The guide is for General installation for somebody that has very little experience in Modding, but at the end will get all the bells and whistles. As to other mods outside of the guide - it's your game do what you like, your imagination, your preference, your style. If there is a major issue with a mod not listed in the guide, Like cant install a particular mod or it causes CDT. I can assist, If it's an FO4Edit overwrite patch issue then no I'm not going to write a patch but I will point you to information to assist you. 9. I've been using this for Fallout 4 and I thaught I might share some observations. Was linked to it from fINIp on nexus. TAB 2 Resolution does not have 16:10 formats (1920x1200;1680x1050;1440x900) if you want to use scaling.I was unable to get scaling to work if I selected a lower resolution and ticked Windowed mode,Borderless and Maximize WindowTAB 6 no Wetness , rain occlusion, anbient occlusion, motion Blur, water reflection, vsyncGeneral Issues No pitboy related settings Disable FX (for colored map/pitboymenu) set color settings etcBe nice to have an advanced tab with all the settings exposed for tinkering/breaking the ini filesNo camera tabOther than that nice and stable Hope this feedback helps.
  10. Yep you ar correct I do not directly mention that in the wiki Fixed https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Gernash/MODWiki#Installing_ModOrganizer_2_beta_3
  11. I have no real idea other than you are using MO2 in portable mode and installed it in your FO4 directory and did not follow the guide. I have too many issues with using FO4 in portable mode and it's why I made the wiki. NOTE: Unsure why people run MO2 in portable mode if you have MO 1.3.11 installed for Skyrim etc Mo2 will not affect it. (Unless you do something crazy) [spoiler=Converting to My wiki is easy.] Save your load order and mod order 1stmove your Mo2 folder to E:\ModOrganizer2make a Folder E:\ModOrganizer2Datamake a Folder E:\ModOrganizer2Data\ToolsAdd the E:\ModOrganizer2 folder to Windows Defender ExclusionsMake ModOrganizer.exe run as an AdministratorStart MO2 and click the little blue mo2 icon in the top leftchoose fallout 4 not portablenow you will have no mods displayed like the books says DONT PANIC!Close ModOrganizerMove the Contents of the Mod Organizer folder from C:\Users\{User}\AppData\ModOrganizer to E:\ModOrganizer2DataDelete the ModOrganizer folderOpen an administrative command prompt, then create a symbolic link with the following command "mklink /J C:\Users\{User}\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer E:\ModOrganizer2Data"Start MO2 Go into MO2 Settings and in the NEXUS tab enter your login Information.Exit MO2Now navigate to E:\ModOrganizer2 folderMove the folders named download, mods, webcache, overwrite and profiles into E:\ModOrganizer2Data\Fallout 4That should be it (any guide specific paths are E: for you now) I know it looks like a lot but something simple looks complicated when typed out. Moral of the story follow instructions if using a guide. No I cant help you with a portable install (I cant get it to work properly I have tried) PS: You better have a clean FO4 installation and not be a NMM user with randumb stuff all over the place because that won't work either....... PPS: All the extra info is not directed at you ceilingrat it's to all you other people that decided to skip steps and are looking for solutions and if you did not follow the installation in the guide then the above is how you get back on track.
  12. If you have updated to 1.7.9 F4SE and you remove mods or update to the new weather system in the Guide you need to start the vanilla launcher through MO2 to make a save because F4SE bombs the game on missing mods splash screen. Once you have logged into the game make a New save this save will work with F4SE Have Fun!!! 7/08/2016 Fixed in F4SE ver 0.2.2
  13. Yeay Patch V1.7.9.0.0 is out Waiting on F4SE to come out.....But wait we are using MO2, just run fallout launcher and BAM away you go. the only F4SE mods in mod the list are Achievement enabled Looks Menu and Place Everywhere. Have fun
  14. Cool Thanks for that, all fixed.

  16. I do not use a Fallout Configuration Tool, and I do not recommend it if you fINIp. If you "validate files" in steam it replaced both Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini the Fallout4Custom.ini stays the same. My recommended setup Backup your Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini run fINIp4 follow the instructions, it's easy. Check Fallout4Custom.ini has the following lines [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= I personally use sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ The reason for this is that I was not seeing all loose files in mods so some textures were missing and found this resolved that problem. It may be a placebo but It works for me. IF you use a Fallout Configuration Tool at this point, it will chance settings in the default ini files if you have the same setting in your Fallout4Custom.ini the changes will do nothing. Fallout4Custom.ini is > ALL Note: ENB Manager, ENB's are getting more and more complex e.g. VOGUE ENB uses a LUT's folder in \Data\textures\effects\LUTs if you want to BACKUP these Newer ENB's you need to click files in the top right of ENB Manager, click files and add Data\textures\effects\LUTs to the bottom of the list that pops up. ENB Manager will ONLY Backup files in that list if you use and exotic ENB with odd files make sure you add the folders( and files if in the root directory) it needs to backup. Some more info here in my other >>post<< All you want to know about Fallout 4 ini and more >>HERE<<
  17. No I don't think they are in-use/working in MO2 BUT the actual file that should be modified with the edits is Fallout4Custom.ini Both Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini SHOULD be left alone. After they have been they have been "orginized" with fINIp I have not seen a Fallout Configuration Tool that does this way, they all seem to do it the OLD original way. As an example my fallout4.ini has sResourceDataDirsFinal= and Fallout4Custom.ini has sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ I had to do it this way as my Really Red Rocket by Elinora, textures would not show. I have not seen much talk about it... Oh and if you have bEnableFileSelection=1 in your Fallout4Prefs.ini it's not a thing anymore remove it. Can also cause crashes.
  18. ModOrganizer 2.0.7 beta 3 reported issues with save game profiles does not seem to be working ATM and if anyone has it working they are being all quite about it ;) NOTE: You can use profiles to have a no mode one with nothing selected (i Do and it works) you just see all the saved games. I just rename them so I know what is what atm. F4SE Plugins may be the issue (Achievement Mod, Looks menu plugin etc) People have reported even if mods/plugins are disabled they seem to stay active. >>Link<< MO2 seems to use the My Documents\My Game ini files. With my fiddling I have not seen any affect in changing MO2 ini files to local ones.(please correct me wrong or I'm not doing it right) I would focus on making it work from steam 1st before anything else. -You using release version of FO4 (Cannot use the BETA) -Install ENB Manager https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9838/? Use it to backup your current ENB Profile then delete all emb and shader presets with the Big REMOVE button. -Is F4SE ver 1.6.9 always needs to be updated. check that there is no \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE if you have a F4SE folder in there back it up and delete check content of folder to see what mods used it i.e. \F4SE\Plugins\achievements.dll See if the game starts (From steam then F4SE then MO2) if so re-enable enb presets try again Hope this helps
  19. Now that the basics are setup..... FO4Edit!!! Fire it up and make sure all the esp's you are running are selected. If it bombs out read the right pane for the error and move the mods accordingly usually something like Exception: "Whatever.esp" requires master "Whatever.esm" to be loaded before it Once you get the order right then all the mods should appear. You can right click on them then apply filter (default settings) then you will SEE the exact overwrites. e.g. I use Bobble Girl, Functional displays and Valdacil's Item Sorting Functional displays >overwrites > BobbleGirl.esp > Valdacil's Item Sorting reverts the Model So to get Bobble girl to work I drilled down BobbleGirl and did the appropriate edits to an over write mod. Manual mod merging and leveled item lists >>Video<< Leveled item Bash patching >>Video<< Here is a LINK to a video showing how it's done (man he can type;) If there is a S.T.E.P video detailing this procedure of creating overwrite mods please tell me so I can link it aswell
  20. Manual ordering - not using LOOT Make sure sort by priority is on look in the Left pane, the little lightning bolt with + or - - has something overwritten + overwrites everything above it If you select one of these mods and scroll through your modlist you will see other mods in highlight in green, they are being overwritten in some way by this mod. Any highlighted in red are overwriting the mod you selected.(Group/Drag these one together in the order of overwrite you prefer.) Group all your mods Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch Armor and Weapons Keyword Community Resource {Settler mods} Settlement Keywords Expanded then all your Textures or Meshes then all your Weather mods then Player mods - like cbbe, body textures clothing then ui and gameplay when you see a -lightning double click go to conflicts tab, if the mod you have selected is being overwritten by what you want then all good otherwise drag it below the offending mod. Try to keep all the mods that overwrite each other together. It will keep you sane. i.e. Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer -CBBE- Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer -outfits- Additional Body Textures - Ghouls and Old people Vault Booty 1.0.4eaw Experimental Atomic Wedgie so in that example the Vault Booty overwrites the CBBE vault Suit Ghouls and Old people look like they are supposed to and CBBE gets it updated clothing pack. To keep things ordered (visually) I create empty mods (that are not enabled) and I name them appropriately, then move the mods under them. In the left pane click create backup then click the sort box everything should now sort and locked mods migrated to the top this delets the plugins.txt i.e. Keywords, homemaker, robot defense, snap and build basically things in italics move them to the top then Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch then your other esp files Only thing else you can check for is in the data tab, things in highlighted red. They they are esp's being overwritten by some mod. If you hover the mouse over them it will tell you which mod is doing it and you can verify in the left pane if that is the correct overwrite, If not you have to move the mods in the Left pane to change the overwrite order.
  21. I'm just providing a reference for others for Beta 3 the git hub "feels" like a I have found this bug/issue here is what I experienced. I feel "Dirty" using it for How to/workarounds.
