  2. Since I'm not messing with ENB's anymore, I decided to give Dynavision a go and man with CoT, Revamped Fog, and all the rest it is looking pretty dern sweet.
  3. I wouldn't bother with the Atlas world encounters or compass tweaks, they add an extra esp and scripts and don't really do much. Just try loading BEFORE or on top of the first Real Water 2 esp if using BOSS. If using LOOT don't worry about it it gets well placed automatically.

  5. I also do not use Alternate Start, I just mentioned it because someone else had mentioned it as a fix, and I think it would just make matters worse. One other thing you should do is make sure to disable the Eckstra esp it is not needed.

Of course there could be a note of warning in the guide. Maybe even just a simple warning would suffice and you could forgo the patching. Heeyyy! I'm not a stupid weirdo . On the number of plug-ins note, if it is installed as legendary without the compass tweaks it uses only one .esp, which is another benefeit. Jeez why am I pressing this so hard. I'm not a member of the STEP team. Who do I think I am for crying out loud!?!? Just shut up Vulgar jeeeez.
  7. I had this problem I tried three thigs before it worked. 1st Alternative Start is very buggy. If you try that you should use the camping int the woods option. FAIL! 2nd When riding in the carriage in the normal start keep preesing start until it opens the menu and disable NPC usage option. FAIL! 3rd DIsable the mod in MO then start game saveas soon as you get into Helgen kep. Enable the mod in MO and try playing. FAIL! 4th and WINNING strategy make sure you have all the correct patches from each mod author's pages for IA. Don't use STEP Patches but use the original patches from author's pages not unlike you would have done with STEP before they started creating their own STEP patches. Figure out some mods you can live without and get rid of them. IA is scriot heavy and adds many large textures to the game. I said bye bye to all "Dual" mods i.e. Wielding, Blocking, and Sheath Redux. As well as Better Shaped Weapons, Burn Freeze Shock, and Enhanced Blood Textures. If using this method this is why you wouldn't be able to use the patches provided by STEP. Finally use LOOT to sort your load order and then create a bashed patch and run FNIS. You might also be interested in checking out the SR:LE and Real Exlorers Guide as these guides use IA as well as other mods you maybe interested in. They will give you and idea of how to install and load IA in a working order. I use a cross between STEP Extended, SR:LE, Real Explorr's Guide, Smile44's Weather and Lighting Guide, and a host of other mods I like resulting in a setup of about 200 plug-ins and about 360 total mods that is now working.   8. These videos are good, and I found one on the Nexus as well, but none of them really start from the beginning when it comes to fixing an existing mod. What I mean is how to identify the problem and/or what navmeshes are missing and how to fix them step by step, by going in between TES5Edit and the CK. Do I load up a mod in TES5Edit and look under Navigation Meshes? Also, are there some cases where a navmesh is supposed to be removed? Right now I only have 3 out of 196 esp's with warnings about navemeshs that TES5Edit can't fix on its own. They are Monster Wars.esp with 4, TheDomain.esp with 1, and Bluecreek Estate.esp with a whopping 18. I found out about BlueCreek Estate when looking at Helgen Reborn (recommended by The Explorer's Guide) it looks pretty cool. Helgen Reborn offers a patched version for it's mod. Basically, with my limited knowledge of the CK, even after watching the videos, I still don't know exactly where to begin when fixing existing mods. Those vids are more aimed at creating your own mod. I definitely thank you for posting them though.
  9. Actually you can't use the door or access the Ragged Flaggon without going through the Rataway the first time, if that makes a difference. You cannot access the door until after you can access the moselium door anyway. And even then you don't end up using it because all the main scenes take place in the cistern. The only time it comes in handy is if you are doing the radiant quests from the Ragged Flaggon. In which case it is actually convenient because it cuts down on extra loading screens, which makes ILS and CTD less likley, which makes it a fix, which makes it fit the STEP mandate. IPSO FACTO. Not to mention lots of mods included in STEP techically allow you to cheat and it is left up to user discression whether or not they use them. Basically every mod with and MCM menu allows you to cheat or at the very least is simply for convenience. i.e. Nausica's Tweaker and The Theives Guild Requirments and others. So if use of those is left up to those is left to user discression can be left to the user why not a simple door. Though my original point stands that it is actually a fix and does not really affect the game in any way accept cutting down on extra load screens from either way you would enter or exit the Ragged Flaggon normally. The books are the located in Riverwood the only logical way of getting them earliar would be to place them in Helgen Keep or maybe the Hunter's Camp by the Guardian Stones. Neither of thse options make sense. It makes sense for them to be available in a store. Though maybe it would be better if they were in the six main stores of the six main holds and they cost a bit of coin. Also it should be noted that there are two copies of each in the Riverwood Trader, so you can take one and leave the other. That way if you ever lose it there will be another copy.
  10. Theres using the old noggin. I'm surpised there is not already a built in option to remove the door. I bet kronixx would be willing to do it himself if asked, possibly, maybe, IDK. I think the customization and compatibility with SkyUI kind of makes it a no brainer. It's probably the best map marker mod out there. No one is forced to use this mod and no one is forced to use the door.
  11. New and improved version of this is up. I highly recommend it be added to the STEP Guide. Read the sticky under posts. Not only does it mention STEP and that it's been cleaned but here's the kicker he got permission from Schlangster to use the SkyUI map.swf and it is now compatible with SkyUI. It's really great because it's completely customizable. I haven't tested the compass tweaks or the world encounters, I really don't want the extra esp or script from each respectivley. Map markers in Soul Cairn and Blackreach. I recommend you guys start testing. It is a must have, give it a shot.
  12. I have also seen it denied but I know it happens. That's why when people first started using the method of unticking them and said they had a great performance increase it was really because they were no longer running them. I think a lot of people also just don't notice it because they have a lot of other texture overhauls.
  13. Finally, thanks! I still probably won't use it though, as my mod list is getting out of control. I think I'm running about 180 plugins with nearly 350 total mods with testure packs and all included. I do have another recommendation for you Smile44, Revamped Exterior Fog which I found out about when looking over the new Somber 3 ENB. Although I gave up on ENB's I have put together some nice skyrim and skyrimpref inis that make my game look incredible without an enb preset (just boosting). I'll post them here in case anyone wants to take a look: Skyrim.ini Skyrimpref.ini enblocal.ini (just for the boost) Let me know what you think if you get a chance to look at them. If anyone wants to try them you really only have to make a few changes like memory adjustments and the name of your video card. Make note of the particles being set to 1750 and give me some input on that,
  14. I have noticed this before as well, it's not just you. But if you completely follow the guide it shouldn't matter. If you follow the DDSOPT section unpack the the .bsa's and optimize them. It's actually really easy with the .bat file included in the instructions. Loose files always overwrite bsa's.
  15. You might want to redact using the tracking option for Face To Face. It works very well without it and when it is on it often causes the eyes to go all wonky and get stuck looking in the far perifery or corner of the eye. JAHU.
  16. Do you mean "can't", because that's what I figured. It's just that the CK is a little out of my wheel house and I don't really know exactly where to start. My setup is pretty massive and was working flawlessly, then I added some more mods. I think if I can just get Monster Wars working properly I'd be golden. Immersive Patrols with Skyrim Immersive Creatures and the Monster Mod and Monster Wars has created a crazy, awesome, insane, (you name it) game world.
  17. I am havingI also need to brush up on this. I have issues with Moster Wars (yes I know it's not part of step). After cleaning there are still 4 deleted navmeshs.   18. It seems no matter what I do I can't get the memory block sizes to change. I tried the skse1.7.0 method checked Memoryblock.llog it says 256. I tried reverting to 1.6.16 and using the patch in the OP and no change. I'm at my wits end. If anyone has any advice please feel free to share it TIA. :confused: EDIT: NVM I figured it out! In a last ditch effort I removed the skse ini tweaks and replaced the patched skse_steam_loader with the original 1.6.16 version, then intalled SSME and that worked. I ran around for awhile killed a dragon some necromancers and their skeleton friends, then it froze. I think it might be due to SafetyLoad even though I have it set to only run during loading screens. I have very few scripted mods so I'm going to test without SafetyLoad. Fingers crossed!
  19. I stopped using the CoT Sounds because it was producing a loud repetitive insect noise. If you don't use CoT sounds you don't need the patch.
  20. LOOT does seem to have ill effects on the STEP Extended Patch. It doesn't place it at the bottom, and even if I place it at the bottom manually it still shows red when I go to make a bashed batch. WB shows most of the masters in red even though they are definitely there.
  21. What about running Dual Sheath Redux with LOOT? Has anyone done this? When I run DSR fresh it asks me to direct it to BOSS.exe. Could I use LOOT instead? I already know there will be conflicts if I have a DSR patch made with BOSS at the bottom of my list sorted by LOOT. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
  22. I take back what I said before Real Clouds is still buggy, even the 2.0 version. I also got rid of RLO it made things to dark (as does ELFX). I'm also giving up on ENBs for now. I am still unable to get Realistic Nights to not show up red in Wrye Bash.
  23. The order in which BOSS sorts the Unofficial plugins has been changed. Each of the Unofficial plugins are now sorted under each of their respective masters. (i.e. Skyrim.esm/Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esm, Dawnguard.esm/Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esm and so on.) As for the error, try completely uninstalling BOSS and reinstalling, obviously make sure you are connected to the internet when running BOSS. If using Mod Organizer make sure you are running BOSS through Mod Organizer as dictated by the STEP guide. Click gears icon at the top, Title: BOSS, Binary: assign file directory to the location of BOSSGUI.exe, make sure that neither Overwrite Steam app id nor Close MO when started are NOT checked, click add, use drop down window on right side to run BOSS, when BOSS is finished close it and the changes will be made in MO automatically. As for LOOT from what I understand it is is still rather new though it looks promising and has been reported to help people with their load orders.
