OK so it was much simpler than I was making it out to be ... ... is this because I was basing my query off of the query using the template call, which in turn was only required because we were bringing in SourceURL from the multiple-instance template? In other words, the distinction between subobject property and normal property does not require anything special as does using a property that is part of a multiple-instance template ... the latter requires a template call within the query, because the query must iterate through the MI-template to fetch that property value for each ModName instance ... ?
-
Yep, I understand that, but am curious as to how to incorporate a subproperty property within a query along with properties from another template. The links in my post above are to what I have so far (with scant assistance from this page) Actually, querying properties among disparate templates is also something of interest, but that should be simpler I would guess.

Crowdsourcing project: Configurator settings
z929669 replied to Tannin's question in Mod Organizer Support
I cannot attest to anything other than the fact that ... [Controls] bMouseAcceleration ... has no impact at all in my game or in my menu interfaces. I suspect the same is true for all of those settings, but I cannot speak to them. I also think that CK-only and Launcher-only (and whatever else does not impact the game directly) ... should be included but under an "advanced" option or within their respective categories under advanced. Rationale: Comprehensiveness -give modders all of the information they need to learn and test (and hang themselves) as much as possible. "Black boxes" always leave questions, or worse, they leave impactful unknowns. -
No response expected from you or anyone else really ... besides s4n. He is the only one with the XP to address ;) Not a wild goose chase at all. It was an excuse to exercise some rusting SMW 'skills' (or lack thereof)

FEEDBACK Wrye Bash/Smash/Flash Patcher updates
z929669 replied to Sharlikran's question in Wrye Bash Support
I will test it out just as soon as I get back into managing mods ... way busy with site related stuff lately though. Rest assured I am watching and appreciative of this work, as are others. Thanks for taking the time to post news here, and always feel welcome to post a single link to another post on another forum (or copy/paste BB code from) if it ever feels like you are recreating the wheel. ;)- 41 replies

Sorry, updated the link in my last ... had it wrong ... the question is posed to s4n, as he wrote the relevant code. ... you are alone in your confusion, because nobody else is responding to my question :)
-
no, I stopped working on that page ... this is the query, but it is not the important piece. The template is the key piece, and s4n will need to show us.
-
Answering GrantSP's question ... I am attempting to extract OrderID and place into a list with mod name. You need to reference the Data Dictionary to understand what templates are in play for establishing the OrderID... this is getting closer I think.
-
Tried all that ... Edit that template if you want and try your queries. You will see what I mean. I just cleaned it up a bit so that s4n could fillin the blanks ... but I suspect that a different kind of template call is needed, and I learn better by example (to this day, I still have a very hard time following his structure ModOrderItems and ModOrderSectionX and ModOrderSectionXItems are real whoppers to figure out and trace)
-
Basically, but I was incorrectly editing to incorporate OrderID property, but that does not work, because it is part of a different template set example. This is a multiple-instance template ... it uses subobjects, and I am not sure how to call a property from that. Query (simplified) Revised Template (simplified)
-
So how does one call the priority number using something like this ... new template required to add OrderID?
-
Naw, it would not be any hit at all more than basically creating any other page, but maintenance would be an issue I think. I am pretty sure that adding a count token to mods within the mod list is not possible with our structure and that it would need to be a separate function of a mod list maintained outside of the current structure. I defer to s4n on the semantics, but I recall tossing the idea around when we first started the project and running into a brick wall.
-
Why add a number to each mod representing priority number when the mod list already sequentially lists the mods? It could be done as hishutup states, but I am not sure what use it is. Also, keep in mind that some of the STEP mods aren't actually installed through MO (e.g., utilities). And if someone were to install a mod not in the guide list, then the number position would be juxtaposed for all after. Just wondering what advantage this adds.
-
It is a breakdown of the properties used by smw templates. If you want to set up a smw structure for other guides, that will show you what properties and types might apply and to what templates they can be attached. The talk page has this and the actual page shows the greater smw structure.
-
Pretty sure you are aware of it, but have a look at our SMW data dictionary Talk notes and post some comments if you want. This is a good start on how properties (probably) should be organized. There is no level yet for 'game', but that can be extrapolated.
-
On the dev wiki, namespaces should not be a problem, since there will be nothing big and complex to break on the dev wiki. Currently, we use STEP: namespace for the guides, so that is probably where we would house other games as well; however, we may well want to parse into STEP_TESx, STEP_FOV and whatnot eventually, so it is worth considering. @ hishutup I am glad you are picking this stuff up and applying it to other games ... keeps us thinking about the bigger picture ;)

FEEDBACK [WIP] Bash Tagger (detects up to 49 bash tags!)
z929669 replied to fireundubh's topic in xEdit
It's funny that a tiny bit of objective criticism invoked hostility in the wake of such a torrent of subjective, brash criticism that seemingly did not .... but it is important that everyone be given equal treatment, regardless of level of contribution. fireundubh's script is a valuable contribution though, so I hope it continues to evolve. -
Thanks ... At least it might be worth the mention then

When Your Mod Gets Attention, You Must Face "Criticism"

Please try it out and let me know if you see a small gain like I do.

z929669 replied to fireundubh's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I removed the post content ... @fireundubh and all, link to stuff that blatantly breaks our posting rules ... please don't post an image to subvert our content filters. As to that thread ... What a jerk. -
Yes, I agree with that. I only added the driver option for those that wanted a slight FPS gain ... but then again, just because I consistently got 1-3 FPS gain does not mean that anybody else will.

Wiki Editors: Changes to Notification Templates!
z929669 replied to z929669's question in Wiki Support
I corrected most of them, but perhaps we crossed paths a bit ... or page caching could have 'lied' to us for a time. I tried to be as quiet as possible and fix the high traffic areas first ;) ... sorry for any inconvenience.- 14 replies
