  1. Anyone familiar with these? Both just got HUGE updates! Hammerfell- Shadows of Dragonstar https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35038/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D35038&pUp=1 The Republic of Maslea - Prologue https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68091/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D68091&pUp=1 The republic of Maslea is located on the New Colovia Archipelago , in the Padomaic Ocean, halfway between Tamriel and Akavir. It was conquered during the first era by a schismatic fraction of the Alessian Order, from Cyrodiil. Despite its former strenght as an oceanic power, Maslea is a complex society divided by social classes, ideologies and external interferences. The first "prologue" release (roughly two/three hours of gameplay) will allow the player to discover the activities of the Alessian Brotherhood in Skyrim, and travel to their main HQ in the Aventina island, in front of Maslea. In the futures version, you'll be able to visit the huge city of Maslea and the rest of the map : ) Don't forget to check this page for future releases! This mod features unique quests, NPCs, weapons, armors, custom musics and a large new map. To start the first quest, you need to have completed the first part of Skyrim's Main quest, when you're given the "Whirlwind Spirit" and "Unrelenting force" shouts (they will be useful in the first dungeon) . Then, talk to Carlina at the Winking Skeever, in Solitude. Once you've finished, don't forget to talk with cpt Sigrippa to get the first naval quest too. Don't forget to endorse if you like : )
  2. I've been having allot of fun playing with ReShadeMe with SweetFX 2.0. To Switch just pull out all the ENB files in your skyrim folder. Put them all in a separate folder. Then simply add in the SweetFX and reshademe files. You'll have to do some research though, just like setting up the ENB local INI, to set up the SweetFXsettings.txt (akaSweetFXini) Also you'll need SSME (very easy to install just search nexus) Because I'm pretty sure SweetFX doesnt come with shesons memory fix. I'm actually using SSME now since my latest update from boros on ENB actually broke my memory patch. It just stopped working memory logged it and everything. So yeah...sucks though I have to keep the new ENB because I somehow got a large FPS boost in all areas after updating. (i think mainy due to him pulling out the Zprepass stuff (which he said was actually slowing stuff down even when set false) and updating the occulsion settings. Anyways just letting you know switching out ENB is easy and doesnt mess AT all with your mods or load order. You many need SSME though should you not use ENB. Also the SweetFX project along with ReShade me is very active and getting many many updates just like ENB. Its so hard to choose which one I want. I do notice that with SweetFX and Reshade. I literally dont need any lighting mods and am achieving the same effect as ELE w RelightingSkyrim. So I NOW use the Step EXT/Core patch with NO.ELE. and no RS. Hope my rambling helps. <Presets for SweetFX if you dont want to learn the INI file settings. <main site
  3. GREAT Advice. You wont go wrong listening to him. LMAO My girlfriend hates skyrim now...she used to love it. :.(
  4. What happens to your game when you load all VANILLA INI's and original ENBseries INI?
  5. Indeed. I think the STEP guide is great. I love the Layout, makes it very easy to navigate, I may have memorized it by now. Besides once you get it going everyone will tweak it to their liking. Could you guys imagine Micheal of GamerPoets doing a video tutorial for Step? He would probably die. Only worth it if people would truly support his efforts. Most problems I see with people are with getting tesedit/skse/skyUI/ENB working. Being at the beginning of the process scares many noobs away I imagine. lol Well said. Very well said. Right of Passage? Wow I'm kind of proud of myself now. :..) PS:I gave up modding morrowind due to lack of info online at the time. If you were around back then. Kudos man kudos :)
  6. Hahaha Sounds like me back in the day. If I may ask, why use wyrebash and not MO?
  7. The amount of fear about getting virus's torrenting is crazy. It's literally everywhere on the Nexus, and modding sites in general, I suspect mainly to scare away people from not using nexus. I've been using torrent since it was invented and only got virus's back in the heyday. I dont use an antivirus either. Never have. They are scams. Plenty of free security programs with free database updates against all known threats. Keep in mind 90% of threats...are either just adware or some serious code NOT aimed at everyday nerds like us. (esspecially via mod files) But I imagine back in the day a bunch of idiots uploaded a bunch of Skyrim mods to the torrent hubs and freaked everyone out with so called "viruses" But for real people. Do not torrent a file if: A: No seeders or just 1 seeder. (if there are less than ten check the profiles of the seeders, usually you can instantly notice cool people versus scammers) B: Download your torrent to a flash drive with an encrypted partition! And NOT to you main drive! Great if you only torrent every once and a while. C: Check the comments and torrent description. If its not safe there will be plenty of red flags to notice via comments and description. D: NEVER torrent a file that has a one line crappy un-detailed description! E: And finaly ALWAYS support whatever you are torrenting via buying LEGIT! //For the record NO I do not torrent games\\ Just my 2 cents. And to be Honest. It's because of torrenting I even found out about the skyrim modding community. Back in the day all I did was play it on PS3. Being anti steam for years didnt help either. >.<
  8. Hey Nomad. I've been using Interesting NPC's for a while and...I LOVE it. I'd say 8/10 voice actors are GREAT and WELL DONE! Some are very hilarious and all of them adhere very strictly to the lore. Seriously man, after multiple playthroughs adding 3NDPC added so many new experiences. I highly recommend it. I always check every new mod and squash any conflicts with it to be safe and have NEVER had any issues. The mod does have some issues with Follower mods though, but nothing major. I think 3DNPC adds 89 people. I remember reading somewhere adding more than 150 custom NPCs in a worldspace over vanilla can cause issues, can anyone verify that? Is there an NPC limit?
  9. Could you elaborate on that some more for us noobs. :) ::hands over firstborn:: Thank you. :) Also your dedication to DynDOLOD is impressive. Keep up the outstanding work. In my experience Dyn always gave me an error to restart without bashed patch.esp as well as HFbirds.esp. It wont run otherwise. After unchecking those it runs great to completion.
  10. I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't use ETaC or JK! lol Poor mod authors, every mod thats released....I need a ETaC patch! Waaahhhhh!!! "repeat repeat repeat " I wonder if the Mod Author added in anything regarding the Interesting NPC Delaz, an Orc female. Her whole backstory was based on Kynesgrove and the nearby stronghold. Her mother is supposed to live there. Haven't been in Skyrim in a while. Sumerset is pretty big. O.O
  11. Hey guys, this sounds great, I want to check it out. Reminds me of a similar mod I found. You guys know about the Skyrim Skill Replacer? He adds 5 Perk Trees, one being Athletics (LOVE IT) That mod adds a jumping perk. I think it was like 30/60/100 Each level increases jump height. Not insane either. Be cool to pair up with this. Also, since its kind of the same realm, wanted to see what you guys thought of this. I didnt want to start a new topic with it since I think it may be bugged. Realistic Humanoid Movement speed. Always hated how borked up the movement speeds were in vanilla,(especially compared to NPC's walk/run rate) I was super happy when I found this. Everything is done very well and very realistic and immersive. Until I tried running with a weapon out. It's way to fast, and breaks immersion instantly if your paying attention. (Like why am I suddenly fast with two swords out?) If I knew how to tone it down a little bit this mod would be an excellent addition to STEP. Does anyone know of any other mods that address the horrible unbalanced run/walk/sprint/sneak speeds? I mean in vanilla you CANT just walk/run/ect next to someone at the same pace, I find it VERY annoying.
  12. The info will be invaluable. I actually just finished reading the entire posts section on the Nexus. Guy seems really busy as hes said repeatably for 6 months he would upload some good screenshots. Unfortunately he hasn't found the time. So, he hand-placed hundreds and thousands of objects all over skyrim, replacing some, moving some, adding some. He also said he did this to all the town and major cities. I'm still on the fence. So I really hope to see some nice comparisons, still worried though, with so many mods in REGS that add landscape additions all over the place as well as all my added mods personally that edit the landscape. I dont know... I really want to add Immersive Citizen Overhaul and THIS...just can't bring myself to do it quite yet. >.<
  13. Looks good. Lore friendly. And it affects Kynesgrove. I dont know of anything else that touches that area besides loose textures. Should be free of any issues, but maybe Immersive citizen overhaul...idk..still Has my vote for step core!
  14. If it's not to much to ask, Anyone know of any compatability issues and/or conflicts (that may need testing) using this mod with Step Extended + Regs? (mainly regs mods) I'm not refering to the heavily discussed JK and ETaC. I actually don't care for those at all. I prefer Dawn...but gave up on it due to the mod being abandoned.
  15. 12 Hours into Summerset with no issues! I expect RGX The Redguard Expansion to be the same! Using STEP:Extended. :)
  16. Indeed. I simply drug Skyrim HD above Serious HD. Looks like the strain on my eyes from my load order is catching up to me. lol
  17. Indeed. Not to many game breaking bugs or anything, definitely a few exploits and a failed exploit fix (google witcher 3 cow money cheat its actually pretty funny) But having to update every month with patch after patch was tedious and possible save game breaking. So I gave up, I'll wait for the goty edition for me too. It'll be worth the wait. DoubleYou! That's awesome man. I'm an Ultimate 4life Diablo 2 fan. lol I dont hack, and I've been collecting gear and maxing out different char builds for years. I have a small community built up on GameRanger. Are you familiar with GameRanger? A program to play online with people from around the world, to play mainly old school PC games. Check out Gameranger.com Its free get it. Diablo 2 has a large community on there. I play with people from all over and some of us hook up via Teamspeak3 and chat while we play, I also have access to a private TEamspeak channel for Diablo 2 gameranger players. It's allot of fun. You can add me, my GR user is brokenpaine. :D I think Battlenet for D2 is still going, havent bothered to check.
  18. Yes, I agree. I was one of them. Just didn't notice. Dang Nexus. lol I quickly realised it though and got 1.3.8. Hate to repeat myself, but can I get some feedback about the PMOP message issue I mentioned above. I just found a sticky about it though so eh I'll figure it out. Time to get off here though...but wait! Straight up on the nexus site earlier I had my scripts (mozzilla) alowed globally, just temporary for youtube, but I happened to have a nexus tab up, maybe 15 minutes. Those dam ads...straight up got highjacked with a full blown XSS attack. Had over 90 trackers running script all over my *expletive*. DEF-initely going to add nexus to the blacklist, I dont care if its a few extra clicks to download. Everyone should have NoScript browser add-on, its free and will save your butt. If this had happened on my laptop, OMG the amount of info that would have gotten stolen. But im pretty sure they got all my forum usename and passes since it was on my desktop. Just a warning people. (sry to go off topic)
  19. Wow this is an awesome community. Ha. 10 years ago I'd be posting my Diablo 2 modding guides. Congrats man! It's a great guide. I shall spread the word! I'm sure you won't mind if I link this in a few other forums and reddits. :) Gives me a reason to replay witcher 2. I ditched witcher three. I'd rather wait for expansions. Put 80 hours in before I un-installed it. Heart-breaking I know, its a badass game. Skyrim has taken most of my interest. I just...can't get this arrow out of my knee.
  20. Indeed, I recently gave DynDoLOD a try. Will be in all future load orders. Amazing work. Intuitive program and very informative, a must-have. I'm so late to the game!! ::hands over first born::
  21. Interesting. Currently my Skyrim HD says its overwriting 2 files. icicle_dds and icicle_n_dds from HDDLC2. It then goes on to say that 92 of its files are being overwritten. And finally, Non Conflicted Files = 1. I have it installed via the Guides directions, and have the long list of files either hidden or deleted. Am I understanding this right? I have this installed for 1 file? lol Its all being overwritten by various STEP Extended Mods, SeriousHD,StepGenLOD Textures (mentioned above), and a few others. GamerPoets video doesn't mention having to do the dyndolodTexGen step with STEP LOD Textures. The guide does and thats what I've done. So is this all good or can I scrap Skyrim HD? Thanks for any insight.
  22. Wow Tech. After all the hundreds of hours I've been modding, I'm shocked thats the first I've heard of this, as far as ignoring for STEP. I'll admit I didn't delve deep into the Mod Organizer forums, I did read a bit when researching what to use either 1.2.18 or 1.3.8. I think this should be added to the Mod Organizer Guide though, the main one thats linked all over the STEP Wiki. At least letting people know to ignore the PMOP messages. What Tannin said above is VERY informative, esspecially for noobs! :D This may be why I've never been able to get a completely stable game! If I were to re-order my load order based on the list I'd be fine right without having to re-install or re-patch? I've got Step:Extended w/no ELE patch BASHED PATCH, FNIS, DSR then DYNDOLOD, then DYNDOLOD OUTPUT at the end of my load order, with some billboards inbetween. Putting the REGS pack on top of this may be worth it now. So glad I seen this thread! Thank you STEP! Hey Tannin, little off topic but since your here...I've been seeing allot of people say they use 1.2.18 instead of 1.3.8. (all over reddit, youtube coments ect.) I've been using 1.3.8 since it came out and I havent had any major issues besides some UI glitches with downloads, other than that I'm not seeing what these people are complaining about. Does using 1.2.18 add to stability? Thats my only concern, specifically with anything going past Step extended? (packs ect.) PS: SUMMERSET ISLES JUST CAME OUT! NEW HUGE DLC!! EVEN HAS BILLBOARDS ON TESGENLOD!!! >.< couldn't help it xD
  23. Yes indeed. Wonder how many hours it'll eat up. Still I think its amazing I cant wait. Glad I seen this! Will this take the rank as largest mod? lol Seems huge. xD
  24. Dude amazing! Thanks so much for this pack as these tools are invaluable. I think this pack should be linked at the bottom of the official STEP guide, not as an addition to CORE or EXTENDED but to direct users to these tools for troubleshooting. A great place would be under the Troubleshooting or In-Game tips section. This pack has been here for a while, I've reserched many packs..nevre noticed this one until now. INVALUABLE! Check this out. I used the FPS limiter you have in your pack just for the hell of it. Even though it said only for the powerful AMD cards, I have a R7 200 series, shitty I know but wth. Turns out I've gained an even more stable FPS with an increased average of 12-15. This is a god-send don't know how I lived without it. I use ENBoost, but do not use any presets. I renamed the d3d9 file and it worked great. Apparently and now obviously (to me) the enblocal.INI setting for FPS limiter does not work. I've tested with and without and see no noticeable difference...maybe 5 FPS. I set it to false and install FPS limiter and I'm very pleased. Quick question though. Can you only have two d3d9 files? Can I add more d3d9 files changing the ENBoost INI to always read the last? Or is this only a one time deal? Anyways thanks for your hard work. The pack is dope. Also the Elys meminfo is also handy as hell. I've been using Skyrim Performance moniter and this seems much better. Not sure if it logs the info though. Going to test it and find out. If it does great, all I'll be missing is the cool graph SPM spits out. :D
