  1. That's only 3 A's then. You had AAAA.
  2. What is AAAA? Also, driver-forced Transparency AA will have much better performance than Software Transparency AA (as in enb) so that is why you are only noticing a decrease of 2 fps while I am having more.Â
  3. Well on my HD6950, transparency AA has minimal performance costs with Skyrim. From 4x MSAA to 4x AAAA is like a 2 fps difference. This is on a heavy modded game (virtually all SR + SR:LE textures). Not sure how your 7970 can drop so low with that, unless you use a lot of HD(+) textures or work on a much higher resolution. Thanks Aiyen :) Which AA methods are you using? JUST the transparency AA that's included with ENB? Or are you using any others (sub pixel, temporal, smaa, edge, etc)
  4. I can't even use Transparency AA. It tanks my framerate. I'm on a 7970 ghz. FPS drops below 30 with Transparency.Â
  5. Is there ANY way to force any type of Driver AA on AMD cards while using ENB?
  6. Do you even mod bro? :p By the way Tech nice comparison, but I am cry at lakes (AKA sea water) because of the no world edits policy I have. Anyway, I just fudged up your comparison by releasing 1.85 so I'm sorry. Also I like the ice floes included in step, but I made mine less dense to combat seams. I'll probably revisit them if I can be bothered. Well that was before the 1.85 update!
  7. Oh woops. I thought you had an AMD card for some reason. Would any of the mods know? I'm getting pretty sick of SMAA and Edge AA. I used to use 4x SSAA before the new versions of ENB. Nothing beats that. Not a jaggy in sight. Foliage was also amazingly smooth.Â
  8. 2 things: 1.) Snow & Rocks HD was removed because VANILLA HD looks better, right? Well Rocks was overwritten by AOF Detailed Mountains (now improved vanilla rocks hd) anyway. As for the snow portion, removing that leaves us with the snow textures from Skyrim Realistic Overhaul, not Vanilla, right? 2.) Under the changelog removals: "Install-Order Changes Realistic Smoke & Embers moved to Section F below No Stretching" This should be changed since No Stretching was removed.
  9. I think you can only use the PCB command when you are in an interior cell, right? Given that, you would have to find an interior cell to run the pcb command, then go back outside, then fast travel back to Skyrim. I think it makes more sense just to quit to the menu and reload, then fast travel since it would basically take the same amount of time. Quitting to the menu also dumps all data so I would just do that if I had to choose between the two ideas.
  10. STEP does not officially recommend anything. I think SR might recommend 10 (default is 30). I like using 10, but if you do then scripted events can go haywire (e.g., the opening carriage ride, carts will often make that first hard left turn way too early and get stuck... or you could arrive at Helgen gate after the doors close). I agree that the general issue here likely has to do with the game engine and resource management. The only consistent culprit is "lots of mods", which includes heavy taxes on VRAM, process threads, and memory management. Pretty general and tough to pin down. Definitely there is something going on in that cell that tends to push the limits. I think I have made a mistake. I have blamed Deadly Spell Impacts in the past for ILS and freezes. Wet and Cold ashes are being blamed similarly in this thread. I don't think it is any of these mods. I think it is, like you said, just a combination of having "too many scripted mods" running at once. I think it is impossible to blame one mod. I thought Deadly Spell Impacts was the cause of my freezes but as I explore more and more specific cells in Skyrim, my freezes have come back. I think these are inevitable and the only thing you can do is just to quit to the menu whenever possible. Especially right before or after fast traveling to a new large area or engaging in a large exterior cell battle.
  11. Does AMD have any hardware AA options?
  12. I think that is a problem with SSAO. Apparently that just happens and there's not too much you can do about it except disable SSAO.
  13. Like I said before, the 'ClearInvalidRegistrations' feature of SKSE can reduce save file bloat. My save file was like 30 mb or something (150+ hours) and I reduced it to 15 mb and got rid of some stuttering. Works fine now.Â
  14. Does anyone have a comparison between this and the snow from SRO?
  15. I've been using my save file since 2011 when Skyrim came out. I currently don't have any save corruption (that I can tell at least.) I've also only been downloading STEP mods since the beginning and never really download mods that add in new areas, enemies, quests, etc so less chance of something messing up when I remove them.
  16. Might not be relevant...but what does STEP recommend for time scale. Not travel time but actual time.
  17. Not sure but Prod80 might know since he develops a lot of add-ons for CoT and probably knows the code pretty well.
  18. I think Better Dynamic Snow was removed. What exactly was wrong with it? EDIT: Found out why. I did always think it looked a bit 'off'
  19. Skyfalls/Skymills was only brought up in regards to the floating waterfalls i think, but I think the next update is supposed to fix that, right?I have several reports on my mod page about the Solstheim to skyrim loading issue, and if you search back through this thread it comes up twice as being related if I'm not wrong. About the update, Yes it should fix it for those that have the issue (Related to the original RWT). Do you have that issue? Can I send you a test esp and Could you please confirm for me that it is indeed fixed? I should have time to finish it and upload it next Saturday. Yup! I have that issue. Feel free to send me a test esp. I can try it out tonight or tomorrow. You can PM me if you want.

  21. In terms of freezing and ILS, I really think scripts are the problem, just as Aiyen said. Like I said before, if you use Deadly Spell Impacts, try removing it or not using the ESP since that solved a ton of my Freezes when shooting spells. In addition, try doing a clean save process (i.e. coc qasmoke, wait 31 in-game days, pcb, etc etc). Lastly, try the 'clearinvalidregistrations' command that is built into SKSE. That command reduced my save file size by half.
  22. Well we all know that the Skyrim engine is terrible at dumping used or old data, so my theory is that when you load up your memory/vram/whatever with data from Solstheim and then try to travel back to Skyrim, it has to load all the Skyrim textures on top of the Solstheim textures and it overwhelms the engine, resulting in a freeze/ctd/ILS/whatever.Â
