  1. If Bethesda's idea of improved and updated graphics is simply higher res textures, then I think there is literally 0% chance the remaster will be released on PC. BUT, if Bethesda decides to do tech upgrades and update the engine or creation kit, then I think the remaster might come to PC as well, but probably break 90% of all mods. I'm going to be cynical and say it will only be for the current gen consoles and with just higher res textures.
  2. Gematsu Article "Said to include all DLC, mod support, and improved graphics." Comes from a seemingly reliable source on NeoGAF. Thoughts? Think it will be for PS4 and Xbox One only?
  3. Hmm, that's weird and surprising. Are all Bethesda games generally more CPU dependent/intensive rather than GPU, or mostly just Oblivion? I can't really think why it would be aside from all the scripting and NPC scripting. And interesting, you'd say it's a tough program then? Do you need know or take a lot math classes for it? I'm starting my CS degree this fall and I'll have to take soooooo many mathematics courses...
  4. Better Cities would like to have a word with you. :P (though tbh im not sure if that mod is GPU intensive, poorly optimized, or if the engine just can't handle it) And im curious, what are you getting your degree in? Computer Science probably?
  5. Hey I saw in a few posts you were having trouble with the eyes or faces of characters. It's probably because of these lines in the Oblivion.ini: Faces and eyes will probably look weird if you've changed these but don't have OCO2 installed. If I recall correctly, the first line should always be changed to 0, and the second line should be changed to 0 if you have the mod installed. You can see what the OR creator wrote on them here:
  6. Hey there, it seems you guys are trying to explore the hell that is modding Oblivion and using the guide I updated a while ago. It might kinda suck to hear this but after I finished updating the guide it basically became majorly outdated only a month after finishing updating it. Some mods have had huge changes like Oblivion Reloaded and allowing the use of ENB Boost, etc, so this guide probably isn't the best thing to follow unless you really, really know what you are doing and the changes you need to make to the dated directions. I don't really have any plans to update the guide because it took so much of my time to fix everything only to become outdated not even a month after spending weeks on the guide and I became burnt out on Oblivion. So honestly, unless like I said you really know modding and are familiar with modding Oblivion and want to spend a lot of time to get everything working and stop the stuttering and crashes, it probably isn't worth it to try to use this guide and that's the sad truth basically. Sorry about that. :(
  7. hey gr8 guide m8 i r8 8/8 However...I have a few questions most about INI tweaks that you probably don't remember the answers to but if you could answer them you'd make the next 30 hours of me playing this game a lot more enjoyable! For DepthBias the recommended setting from MEUITM is .006, but you have it set to .008, what was the reason for this? For MinShadowResoultion the default setting is 32 and MEUITM recommends to keep it at 32 as well but why do you change it to 16? For PoolSize the default value is 140 and you say to change it four times the default to 564 but four times 140 would be 560 not 564? Finally, I'm pretty sure you've seen this video because you talk about turning on Ambient Occlusion in your guide near the beginning, but it's not actually in your guide. He enables AO and SuperSampling in the video and I was wondering if you there was a reason you didn't include those in the guide, or if you just didn't know about it. Thanks for any help m8.
  8. Same engine problems since Oblivion. Reminds me of: But it'll all be different next time with Fallout 3, Fallout:New Vegas, Skyrim, Fallout 4, TES VI.....right guys?
  9. @Dannai Thanks a lot for all that info Dannai. Sorry I haven't had time to reply but it's all helpful. I will put the hotfix into the guide sometime soon when I have time, and I'll update the Elz mod instructions when he updates it. And thanks for the mod recommendation, it looks good and it's nice that it's made for OR. If hishutup likes it, it will probably be in the guide to replace The Imperial Ecology. @Szorn Yeah I've read a lot about some mod causing problems with interior water, I think it might be OR causing the problem. I'm not actually sure that it can be fixed tbh. Hishutup probably knows more so you can try messaging him. But did you backup your .ini after making all the tweaks? If your exterior water is now messed up and you don't have a backup, just delete your .ini and: -Add the font line tweaks -Go into the laucher and ingame and change the settings from the first part of the guide -Add the rest of the .ini tweaks and set to readonly and that should undo your changes if your .ini tweaks messed up the exterior water.
  10. Strange, not sure why it is not available. But thanks for letting me know. I reuploaded it. And thanks! Enjoy the game.
  11. What the ****...... Literally NOWHERE is safe now except Linux. I might just finally say **** modding, install Linux, and only play Dota 2 for the rest of my life.
  12. 1. This is probably because you set the INI to read only before starting Wrye Bash the first time which shouldn't be done. 2. Yeah that's happened to me too on a few mods, not sure why, but like you said they seem to install okay. 3. I know a lot of people assume Windows 10 is causing a problem for a game, but I'm positive it's not Windows 10 because I haven't heard one case of Windows 10 being the cause of crashes or anything for any game. If it's crashing instantly, it's probably a problem with the UI (make sure you've done the .ini font tweaks) or a problem with the heap settings. Try putting the OSR settings to (5) and (768).
  13. Wait, what? You said that OCO was causing the crash, but then you say the game crashes even without OCO?
  14. @Szorn Yep you kinda have to mess around with the heap settings a bit to find the perfect settings. @wellden I know..that's why there is a section in the guide that has people disable autosaves.
  15. Did you install Blockhead and is it before OCC2 in the load order? Try reinstalling Blockhead and OCC2 making sure you have the 2 compatibility patches for OCC2 if you use Robert's Bodies. Make sure the .esp is checked and remember to run BOSS afterwards. And try uninstalling Race Compliation for Roberts Bodies if you have that installed. Also disable SLI and see if the game still crashes.
  16. Just because a mod doesn't have a DLC .esp as a master, doesn't quite mean it doesn't need the DLC I think, so maybe you'll run into some problems, maybe you won't, idk. And you're not supposed to mess with any settings in the launcher or in-game options except for the very start of the guide. Turn on HDR in the launcher, then install OR, then set AA to whatever your computer can handle in the INI.
  17. Anti-aliasing can be turned on as long as you installed OR. You have the 2 main dlc's, so it probably isn't too big of a deal if you aren't using mods that need the others, but technically the guide is for users that have all the DLC as it states at the beginning of the guide. As for it only booting in admin and not loading OBSE, idk so @hishutup will have to help. Yep, it's really cool. Guide has gotten 11k views in less than a month.
  18. I added a reminder to the end of the guide like you suggested since I think 4 people have forgotten to do it already.
  19. Your welcome. And fixed it.
  20. I'm not sure what kind of tweak you would need to do, but yeah all of that is necessary but you might not have to start a new character, it depends. But you only need to run Tes4ll again if you do anything related to landscape mods. INI tweaks shouldn't ever mess up a save game, but to make sure it's not overwritten, just make the change to the INI in the Oblivion Data folder, then copy that INI to its mod folder in Oblivion mods/Bash Installers folder. Thanks. Just wondering, but why do you need the fps manager? How does it help? And having autosaves enabled doesn't cause save corruption, just using the autosaves does. So its best to just tell people to disable them so people don't use them. That reminder is in the guide at the end of the Better Cities installation.
  21. 1. Guide says: "Better Cites .esp" needs to be activated/checked not merged 2. Guide says: When adding or removing rules, you need to run "BOSS GUI". So you have to update the masterlist rules through BOSS GUI. Go back and do all of those 3. Make sure you've added the font tweaks to your Oblivion.ini 4. If still crashing after those try changing the OSR heap settings back to "5" and "768"
  22. Sorry idk, I use BC, UL, and ROC and don't have any issues around the IC. Check the 'Complicated Mods' section and check if you did everything it said and have all the setting right maybe. Try running BOSS and build your Bash Patch again? If you are getting a lot of crashes, try setting the OSR heap settings back to "5" and "768". And OR 3.0 is planned to release sometime in September.
  23. Wow, that's pretty crazy Tech. Well something that might help is deleting Disconnect. You don't need it if you have uBlock Origin. Extensions > uBlock Options > 3rd Party Filters > Ctrl+F: "Disconnect" > Check the 3 Disconnect lists > Apply Changes Your welcome.
  24. Thanks guys! :) I know that I said that I finished the guide a few days ago, but I actually changed just a few things since then, so I'll put the changes here so people that have followed the guide can make sure they have the changes. @hishutup I know you need to make these changes too cuz you started before I made any of these changes. \OBSE\Plugins\sr_Oblivion_Stutter_Remover.ini: (Might not work well for everyone, but I had massive improvements with this so I'd at least try it) iHeapAlgorithm = 6 iHeapSize = 1024 \OBSE\Plugins\OblivionReloaded.ini: (Both cause very noticeable graphical bugs, so definitely make sure both are off. Also it will still rain after turning off precipitations in case you are wondering) [shaders] EnablePrecipitations = 0 [Effects] EnableAmbientOcclusion = 0 \Documents\My Games\Oblivion: [Display] iMultiSample=2 [interface] fDlgFocus=3.0000 AllNatural.ini:set ANVars.Luminance to 0.75set ANVars.SILuminance to 0.75set ANVars.TCEnabled to 1
  25. Well no, each tab opens as a separate process to make Chrome faster and more stable. Having each tab a different process doesn't really make it start faster though.
