  1. Umm...what? Please tell me how they don't. If it takes Google Chrome 1.5 seconds to load from a cold start for me, and it takes Pale Moon 4 seconds to load for me, that means something correct? If I open the same 5 tabs and always get 300mb of ram used in Firefox, and open the same 5 tabs in Waterfox and it uses 550mb of ram every time then that means something right?
  2. Those still seem like the only three noticeable differences. And after looking up Pale Moon some more, I've came across three benchmarks that show Pale Moon was slower than Firefox each time interestingly. Edit: After spending a lot of time looking up those other Firefox open-source forks, I came to the conclusion that while they are 64-bit, that results in almost no performance gain (because honestly, when is your browser using more than 4GB of ram???) and basically vanilla Firefox outperformed all of them in benchmarks. I'll list a few I saved but I came across a few more I'm too lazy to look up again that said the same thing, Firefox is almost always faster, starts faster, and uses less ram. https://www.softpedia.com/reviews/windows/Cyberfox-Review-470007.shtml https://www.softpedia.com/reviews/windows/Waterfox-Review-445085.shtml https://www.networkworld.com/article/2185649/applications/fast-firefox-faceoff--nightly-vs--pale-moon-vs--waterfox.html https://portableapps.com/node/39509 If anyone wants my opinion on the best browser, it's this. If you want speed and good performance, Google Chrome is the way to go if you don't care about Google knowing everything you do. If you do care about privacy, Firefox Beta is the best because it's stable unlike Firefox Nightly, and you get performance updates and bug fixes a month before all regular Firefox users.
  3. Sorry about kinda derailing the thread from Firefox memory usage to finding out the best browser, Tech. Though maybe if I can figure out which is best you'll switch and not have to worry about it aha. And yeah, I guess I'm not really impressed with Pale Moon or Cyberfox either since there is hardly any performance gain if any at all from 64-bit from what I've looked up, and even less impressed since Firefox is getting 64-bit support really soon. 4. As far as I know, almost every AMD GPU has performed worse than its Nvidia equivalent during the past few years. Also there is no doubt that Nvidia releases updated drivers for new games all the time and AMD not so much anymore. And it is fact that AMD has been declining heavily in revenue every single year, and a few articles came out saying that they could be bankrupt in as little as 3-4 years. Hopefully that changes now though with all their good benchmarks and performance reviews with DX12 and they can start getting a bigger market share again. And yep, definitely have. I love it and it's really awesome that people created FAF. Sadly I haven't played for a while. If you've used a different name than Spock though I might remember you.
  5. When I bought my current computer, I bought an AMD GPU without really thinking because it was a super good deal. Then after realizing what I had done, I hated myself for months because I realized that AMD performance has been getting worse and worse, and updated drivers for games were barely being released at all. Then noticing that AMD has been headed towards financial trouble, I expected driver support to probably drop almost completely soon. Now all of that has changed because of DX12. I can sleep at night without seeing a menacing Nvidia logo taunting me. I've been an Nvidia fan my whole life, and I only bought my AMD card because of the super nice deal, but I really hope AMD gains some momentum so there can actually be some legitimate competition between them and Nvidia again. Also I am sooo pumped for Ashes of the Singularity. I'm a huge Supreme Commander fan.
  6. Wasn't jumping to conclusions. I've done a lot of reading and everyone has a strong opinion when it comes to web browsers, lol. As far as I can tell, the only substantial differences between Pale Moon and FF are: 64-bitUses FF's old UISome extensions don't work
  7. I know that Firefox will be 64-bit on September 22nd, so will that basically eliminate Cyberfox/Waterfox/Pale Moon if that's all they do? I also know that Firefox Beta has been 64-bit for quite a while now.
  8. Updated again. Yes I guess Nightly can be too unstable and it does say it is for testing. I also took of Firefox ESR as they don't get any updates for a whole year. Definitely don't want that.
  9. Updated post. Don't need dev tools and waaay too much stuff in SeaMonkey. Getting updates faster comes with advantages and disadvantages, so not sure about those.
  10. I really want to switch from Chrome to something else, but there is just waaay to many to switch to, so I'm totally clueless. ChromiumComodo DragonCyberfoxFirefox BetaIceCatIceDragonPale MoonWaterfox Edit: Firefox Developer EditionFirefox ESRFirefox NightlySeaMonkey
  11. Are you using the FPS patch for Better Cites?
  12. idk about RoC/BC/UL patches, but this also exists. https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45817/? I haven't really looked into it but it says it's incompatible with the FPS version of BC though.
  13. You just imaging? Not quite sure how it would transcend from a wiki guide, to an application. lol. As for the notes and description indicating why the mod is in its certain category, quite a few of the mods don't even have notes or even a description, lol. And the ones that do don't really explain why they are in the category. Also I feel including in the notes of the mods a description of why it was selected to be put in that category would kind of just bloat the guide adding lots of info that isn't probably won't be super useful or needed most of the time.
  14. Not sure if I said this before, but I don't really like the squares/modular aspect of the guide. I think it should just be a straightforward installation with a few optional mods here and there. The reason I say this is because, well for one, just because a mod is marked a certain color, you don't really know why. I feel it leads to, "So why is this certain mod orange? Is it not lore friendly? Is it performance heavy? Have the guide authors not tested it thoroughly? Does it require many patches to be operational?" You don't really know. I tried to take out a most of the red mods, (moved them to the faq so you still have them) because what really is the point of having mods in the guide that have no testing or instructions done since users won't install them anyway. (came out a bit longer than i expected, just my thoughts)
  15. Yeah, idk really. Post a pic of your \Oblivion folder and your \Oblivion\Data folder. Do you have multiple monitors btw? Try: Moving your whole \My Documents\My Games\Oblivion folder somewhere else and try launching. Try downloading this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 Try right clicking Oblivion.exe and set to low resolution and run as administrator.
  16. Try messing around with the Heap settings in OSR. I was CTD really often due to memory and after messing around I found some numbers that have gotten rid of all crashes for me. Look at the OSR section in the guide for more details.
  17. The progress looks pretty good. I think the reason why you got a lot of criticism on Bleakden when it was released as a paid mod was because people had higher standards, after all, why pay $ for a town mod when you could just download one for free on the Nexus? I can't speak for everyone, but I feel like most people were probably trying to communicate that they didn't think the mod was worth paying for, not that it was terrible or they hated it, and they appeared somewhat harsh. I'm not surprised like you said that people didn't talk bad about the mod when it was released for free or about your other town mods, because they don't feel they have a right to criticize something that was done in your free time for enjoyment. Also after looking through some of your other videos, it is very clear you spend a lot of time on your mods. Nice work.
  18. The general consensus is to use uBlock Origin instead of uBlock. As far as I know, if you want to fully be protected in Firefox, all you need is: uBlock OriginNoScript AdBlock Plus, Ghostery, Disconnent, and Don't Track Me are all junk I believe. They either log your activity or send it to their own servers like Ghostery, so I wouldn't use them.
  19. "Better Cities .esp" has to be activated and not merged. Activate it and make sure there is a check mark in the box instead of a + and rebuild your patch making sure you uncheck it when it asks if you want to merge it. That should fix it. Edit: Also uninstall Let the People Drink and any patches there may be for it that have a LetThePeopleDrink.esp master. It has been integrated into Better Cities.
  20. Modern computers, game consoles, and electronics in general are designed to kept in sleep mode instead of turning them off. There technically isn't any reason to ever completely shut off your computer, PS4, iPhone, or anything really. They are built to be put into sleep mode where they barely use any power, can download updates, defragment hard disks (if a computer), and can start back up instantly instead of booting up again. With that said though, I always turn off my electronics anyways out of habit as well. Technically we are all only wasting our time by turning off our electronics instead of putting them to sleep...but old habits die hard.
  21. At first I thought. But that's actually the author of the Bleakden town payed mod. I find it kind of funny actually that he searched through 23 pages of a 4 month old thread to respond to criticism about his mod.
  22. Oh, thought you said you tried running as administrator and putting the .exe into compatibility mode, guess not. I would follow the beginning of the guide exactly, making sure you do the "If You Have Modded Oblivion Before.." section before you reinstall. Then try launching after you finish the Oblivion Launcher Options section.
  23. Those mods are still in STEP. https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9.1#2.H._Characters_.26_Creatures They are the first and fourth mods in the Character and Creatures section.
  24. I think what hishutup is going to recommend is changing the following lines as such: [Archive] SInvalidationFile= SArchiveList=ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa, Oblivion - Meshes.bsa, Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa, Oblivion - Sounds.bsa, Oblivion - Voices1.bsa, Oblivion - Voices2.bsa, Oblivion - Misc.bsa Also try the things I said.
  25. I've wanted to switch from Chrome to Firefox for a while now due to Chrome tracking everything you do, but I just can't do it. Firefox is just too unresponsive and slow compared to Chrome. I always have many tabs open, as I open every link I click in a new tab because it is a lot easier to keep track of things instead of going backwards and forwards in one tab. Right now I'm doing what I would consider "light" browsing, and have 7 tabs open. The way I use the internet is just too slow on Firefox for me.
