Star Citizen in a must watch 13 minute nutshell
SynthetikHD replied to redirishlord's topic in General Game Discussion
I guess the reason I think that SC will be the best space sim in a few years is mostly because of the whole almost making 100 million dollars thing. So I guess they have the potential to be the best, simply because of their massive budget. But Elite Dangerous also sounds pretty cool, hopefully I'll catch it during a free Steam weekend if they do one. Well I tried just playing from looking at the hotkeys and it did not work out well, at all. I tried a bot game and online match and was pretty clueless, so I'll just check tomorrow and see if it's fixed and if anyone else is still having the same bug. -
Star Citizen in a must watch 13 minute nutshell
SynthetikHD replied to redirishlord's topic in General Game Discussion
I haven't tried Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, or EVE: Valkyrie, though I've heard of all of them and live in the US. Only reason I'm trying Star Citizen atm is because it's free. I'm not planning on buying any of them, at least not for a while, I would but money and stuff. I know that Star Citizen by far has the most hype and popularity, but I know that doesn't mean it's the best of the 3. As I've said I haven't played any of them, but my understanding of them and why to play them is like this: Elite Dangerous: Most complete out of all of them atm, has the most polish on combat atmStar Citizen: More or less a tech demo at this point though has been forming more and more into a game recently, has the most potential and in a few years will almost certainly be the best experienceEVE Valkyrie: Pretty much only reason choose this over the others is if you play EVE: Online, as you have a lot of incentive to do so Edit/disclaimer: My conceptions about the games may be wrong, though from what I've heard it's likely true. Edit 2: It seems that there's a bug where all new users can't play the tutorial and it hasn't been fixed yet. -

ARG! If only I had read your post before I uninstalled the game redirishlord. Oh well, I figured since the game is supposed to be really impressive, might as well make it as nice as possible with faster loading times/texture streaming, this will be the first game that has had the pleasure of being installed to my SSD. Seems I'll have downloaded a total of 50GB's in under two hours.....my condolences n0mad. -

Thanks. I'll spend time with both of those then as I feel I'll be playing this game for the rest of today, lol, and if I really enjoy it I'll probably be sinking as much time into it as I can until the 19th. Also I know this game is considered basically the Crysis of this decade, and while I have a pretty nice pc, I shouldn't be expecting to play on ultra at 1080p without a $2k PC right? And I was looking at some stuff about the game, and do you know if I should restart my download and install the game on my SSD? I saw some stuff about the load times being awful, so is it definitely worth it? -

Ah okay, is there anything else in the full game currently besides Arena Commander? Also apparently I have access to all flyable ships in the Arena Commander module. Which one is the best or should a noob use? :P np, I originally wasn't gonna bother posting it here cuz it seemed everyone here already had it, but glad I let someone else know too. (be warned it's 26GB, lol, my DL speed is maxing tho and it's 11mbps so it should be done soon for me) -

Just a heads up to anyone. I was just browsing reddit and saw that you can play Star Citizen for free until the 19th. Or at least the dogfighting it seems, is this only a part of the game? Either way I know this thread has been getting a lot of replies lately so I thought I'd post it here and try the game myself. Any tips I should know when I start playing? :P -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Sorry, I'm not really sure what would cause this unless the mod wasn't completely downloaded and part of the archive is missing. It's okay you don't need to give me the error, if all the mods seem to be working I wouldn't worry about it. If you're downloads tend to pause often or your internet loses connection for a split second, its likely that it will look like you have the entire mod downloaded, but you'll be missing information and can't unpack it. -

SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
What do you mean by didn't unpack properly? What exactly happens? I didn't have any issues unpacking projects or files being corrupted. Only thing I can think of is that you didn't change the folder options and Windows is changing file extensions and corrupting the files maybe? -
Sorry but a lot of what you say doesn't make sense and your grammar doesn't really help understanding you. In this thread you say you are using Wrye Bash as your mod manager. So what are you using MO for then? Are you referring to STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures? This just optimizes the vanilla textures, it doesn't replace any.

No.

GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Hey hishutup, are you going to be able to work on the guide this weekend? I've just finished going through the WHOLE guide and everything that I could do completely on my own is now 100% finished. So everything such as: adding a lot of instructions to everything that needed to be done to the game before starting to download the modsupdating the ini tweaks sectionmaking parts (such as the beginning and INI section) more visually attractivemaking it less messyfixing 99% of all spelling, grammar, capitalization and punctuation errors and wording things slightly better when possibleupdating all the version #'s on all mods that have been updated and marking which mods have had major updates possibly requiring a change in installation instructionsremoving the useless [Forum Link] line on 95% of the mods since they didn't have oneremoving any mods that are now no longer needed (check changelog for list)writing down any mods I've came across while doing the above that could potentially make good additions to the guide So now I mostly need you're help with most of the stuff that's left like the to-do list and you going through the guide start to finish and changing or adding any directions or other things as needed. -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
I agree, I think it's probably best to just remove them then. And okay I'll add Mesh Improvement Project to the list of mods that need to be tested. I also added a big list of texture mods and other mods to possibly be added to the original post. Just been adding any as I see them. -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
@hishutup Is there any reason that Deadly Reflex and Unnecessary Violence are marked in red? Is this because they are red square mods or did you just want to color the mod names? I downloaded DR6 and I don't think that the mod actually even worked and I think it was a cause of some weird stuff my character was doing, like practically going prone to the ground for a second when crouching and other things. Also OR adds horse combat and says to not use anything that also uses horse combat which DR6 does. And other thing while looking through the forums in DR6 everyone says there's a lot of bugs for it and the author is no longer working on it. So are both of these untested and not recommended to use? And for Mesh Improvement Project, the mod looks cool and has had an update but you said that it causes crashes? You remember exactly what the problem was? I couldn't find anything in the posts about crashing. -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Why did you buy a chair instead of a new processor? lol. I know that Better Cities is in the guide but were you actually able to use it before when you played because at the bottom of the guide it says you used to get 10 fps in some places with it? But I've added a to-do list to the main thread post of stuff I'll need help with or more likely things that only you can do such as the BCF stuff. -

My System Specs: Processor: Intel Quad Core i5-4690K OC @ 4GHzMemory: 8GBVideo Card: Radeon R9 290 (4GB)So pretty high end but not a jaw dropping pc like some people have on here. I'm not really sure about AEVWD as idk what kind of fps hit is has. But it has been updated since the last time you tried it so maybe it is better optimized now? And I'm sure you can probably find if shadeMe conflicts with anything by looking through the posts on the mod page if you have the time. -

Alright. I actually took the part about the clean plugins to new projects out and placed it somewhere else but I will add it back. And BOSS masterlist updates are no longer needed now with LOOT? Also some mods to possibly look into. They were recommended by OR. I know that you tried the first one and got low fps. Not sure if it is worth looking into again or not. https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/20053/? https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45043/? -

Okay thanks. Another question: In the guide you say to drag cleaned plugins out of their folder and make a new project with the cleaned plugin. How necessary is it to put the cleaned plugin in a new project? To me it doesn't seem like this would be necessary at all or have any effect. -

GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Should the part about SMAA just be taken out of the guide though? As I can't imagine why anyone would prefer it over MSAA so I don't think there's really much reason to list it as an option since no one would use it. Also what about, "For the Archive Invalidation section, is the Archive INI line edit done automatically or is this something that has to be put in the INI manually?" -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Okay thanks. Not sure if you are doing a playthrough right now in Oblivion since you used the guide but if you are I'd do the instructions listed in the changelog about the INI and delete the Enhanced Camera mod. Otherwise it'd probably be best to just wait and uninstall everything once me and hishutup finish updating the guide then completely reinstall the whole guide when it's updated. -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Not quite sure what this means as I've only ever heard the term BCF a couple times but I'm assuming it has something to do with LOOT since it has replaced BOSS. I also saw the other edits you made and have a question about one. In the OR.ini you put: EnableSMAA = 1 ;Consider disabling and using MSAA via drivers But in the Oblivion.ini you added: iMultiSample=8 ;Set to 0 if using SMAA. First off OR says, "-YOU MUST NOT FORCE ANYTHING IN THE VIDEO CONTROL PANEL (USE APPLICATIONS SETTINGS)", but why would you say setting MSAA with video drivers if OR has the function? Second I think MSAA is the better of the two right, so should the EnabledSMAA in the OR.ini just be taken taken out of the guide and left at 0? And what does EnableBloodLens = 1 in OR.ini do as there was no description in the OR html doc? Also for the Archive Invalidation section, is the Archive .ini line edit done automatically or is this something that has to be put in the INI manually? -
GUIDE The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition Modding Guide
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Unsupported Game Guides
Wow, now I know that someone actually used my guide and 1k views! Cool. And well are you checking in the Witcher 2 game launcher, or the Witcher 2 tweak launcher? If you are certain you're in the actual game launcher and don't see a mods section, then that means you are not on the current 3.4 patch or that maybe you do not own the Enhanced Edition. You can check your version by right clicking properties on the .exe in the bin folder and going to details. If you aren't on the 3.4 patch then you must download the patch and uh, well I know that FCR2 will have to be reinstalled...as for everything else, I'm not sure if it will be affected by an update, so I'd at least double check if everything is where it needs to be or uninstall making sure nothing is still in the install and documents folders, and go through the guide again. -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
SynthetikHD replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
@hishutup Man, so many things have been changed it's kind of hard to keep track to mention it all. If you saw the new INI section from this morning, well it's been completely re-done once again after talking to the author of Oblivion Reloaded and comparing a bunch of different INI's myself. Long story short of testing the recent Tweak settings, my fps has improved even more and a lot of stutter no longer exists. Just a lot of good news and results compared to the dated INI tweaks. I also added another section in the guide after the launcher settings that changes the in-game settings. Since the way you did it was having the INI checked as read only, none of the in-game options were set high at all and never got changed, like Item Fade Distance was at 3% before. :P Setting the launcher mode as ultra didn't give true ultra settings and you have to go into the video options in Oblivion and set everything even higher to get it maxed out. After messing with OR, it appears that MSAA can be enabled in the in-game menu along with HDR. So this probably means that the INI tweaks section will have to go after the OR installation and then the INI should be checked read only after that and not before. -

Well after hours and hours of researching tweak settings and wiki-editing, I finally did the first "important" change to the guide and updated the changelog in my original post. All changes have been made according to the OR recommended settings and other recommendations by the author. Cool beans. I will do some testing with the updated tweak settings with the recommended OR iPreloadSizeLimit # in a bit.
