No you can delete oblivion bashed patch, along with the oblivion ini edits and the archiveinvalidation and also make sure lock load order is turned off, all those things are from oblivion and irrelevant to skyrim at best and confusing and annoying at worst. skyrim mode I mean settings > game > skyrim I should check the bash guide and make sure that stuff made it in.

The bashed patch still very much a WIP, some types of data are completely decoded and implemented in Bash and others have not even been looked at yet. It will not cause problems unless you try to force stuff that hasn't been worked on yet. Keep everything on automatic and make sure you are running in Skyrim mode and you'll be fine.

hmm, noted. The testing I saw was more in the area of 5 fps which you can hardly see, is this with enb installed?, because I could believe a second card will give all the performance back that it normally saps. I'll update.

lvl is based off of how many skill points you have, so anything that allows more points automatically allows more lvls and more lvls gives more perks its a whole avalanche of fun

I don't have too much installed as its a new install of windows 8, but Mass Effect 1,2,3 shows up there as it should. I'm guessing its a steam thing, speaking of which steam is there under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam so with that you'll know where skyrim is.

that key is the only one in my registry that has the path to tesv.exe, I have no entries anywhere for bethesda except in cache, the creation kit makes a few hundred reg entries all over the place though. you might take a look at wrye bash installation code, it has no problems finding skyrim on any machine. you don't need a config file, use the registry lol. yep there is a detectGames function defined in bush.py line 39

yep it doesn't find install location, I'll pm you some registry settings that might prove useful also it doesn't remember the path if I enter it manually.

everytime steam patches skyrim it tends to set your ini's back to the default, wrye bash won't be affected at all unless you deleted the mopy directory. Make a backup as mentioned above and then install skse 1.04.15 (SD has not been updated yet).

are you sure the files are there, and valid? skyrim automatically validates files and if they are fishy it won't install them. try opening the .dds files with Compressonator Also might try using underscores instead of spaces in the directory names.

Steam will do it for you, its one of its only really useful features. In steam, library, right click skyrim and select options, select local file tab and backup is the first button. It'll take a while cause your backing up 9GB, a faster way is to go inside the skyrim directory and select everything except the data directory right click and from the 7zip menu select add to 7z, then do the same in your \Documents\My Games\Skyrim directory and you'll have a couple nice small vanilla backups.

Never mod without a vanilla backup! If steam is telling you all the files are verified you should be able to run skyrimlauncher.exe and tesv.exe. What happens when you run them? First thing to try is delete all files in skyrim folder except those 2 exe's and then reverify. If that doesn't work delete all the files in your \Documents\My Games\Skyrim directory and then run skyrimlauncher and click options and set up skyrim. If that still doesnt work, its full uninstall reinstall time, and this time make a backup.

yeah that's a good point Bealdwine, it needs to be a one click deal to change files to read only and back, just like the regedits.

yeah they look like different mods altogether, the new version is much brighter and less detailed, I am a sad panda.
