  1. The assets changed in STAT are the MODL - Model Filename record for the inventory model and in BOOK it is also MODL - Model Filename for the world model and also INAM - Inventory Art to select the new STAT record. Frequently I have to fix mistakes in OBND - Object Bounds and rarely DATA - Type, DATA - Weight or YNAM - Sound - Pick Up but if those were handed off to the Unofficial Patch team, we would be all square.
  2. The problem with the spell books is compatibility as I have to edit both the STATIC and BOOK records which would mean that every mod that ever changed or added any spell would have to have a BCS patch. The simplest solution would b e a mesh and texture replacer since you can't keep the spell books for display and there are not that many covers and I believe there are one or two of those on the Nexus already. There are 426 book covers and 120 Journals to choose from and they all look totally different depending on which ENB the individual player uses. As a general rule of thumb, I intended the Desaturated version to be used with "hot" ENBs that boost the saturation and the Original for "muted" ENBs or no ENB at all. There are also plenty of folks who prefer the Desaturated for the aged appearance it gives the books and this version is downloaded 2:1 over the Original textures.
  3. For the vanilla books I go to the qasmoke cell with the coc command. The large majority of the books are in the chests in there. You can just help yourself. You can end up with scenes like this... For the Lost Library mod I have created a set of chests so once that is released, you would be able to open the console, type Help "Daggerfall Books" and make a note of the relevant ObjectID. A quick player.placeatme ObjectID 1 would then drop a chest at your feet with all the Daggerfall books. There will be corresponding chests for the Morrowind and Oblivion books too.
  4. I understand - it might have been Big Dialogue Overhaul which is deleted from the Nexus. All I could find was Dangerous magic Dialogue Removed which only deals with the comments when you run round with a spell or enchantment equipped.
  5. Do we re-tick the optimized textures after installing the Unofficial patches as BSAs or leave them unticked till 1.2.7?
  6. I have decided to not implement the "star on the spine" indicator that Doccdr used when I create skill books in the Lost Library. As far as I can tell, its only use is to give a visual indication of skill books before you pick them up to allow you to avoid getting skill ups for skills you do not use. You would have to scrutinise every book in the game world before touching it, perhaps trying to turn it round to see the spine without picking the book up. In my opinion, this is not really effective. There are now more useful mods such as MoreHUD and Non Automatic Skill Books (which could have a compatibility patch) which do the job much better so I have taken the decision to omit the stars from the spine. Do you feel this would cause any issues that I have not considered? Without exception, I shall be hand-placing the skill books from the Lost Library mod and am also thinking of only placing a single copy of each skill book too. A quick progress report - I have now reached the half-way point for cover creation and text formatting as far as the standard non-Developer books are concerned. One hundred and twenty books done and formatted. All the levelled lists are done for vanilla merchants at least but I am still tweaking the drop rate - shaving the odd 5% off the lists so the books are special but not too common.
  7. Thanks for the tips... I can see a copy of the Balladeer's Fakebook appearing in the Bard's College certainly.
  8. Is this it? No NPC Greetings - it is a VERY old mod and I don't know if it is still fit for purpose.
  9. I need some opinions on my treatment of the Consolations of Prayer book from Morrowind. In the original there were some tiny 128x256px images that were very dark and indistinct - one for each of the God-Kings and one for each Saint. I have upsampled them, looked at the colour channels and found the one with the highest contrast, masked the original, added an emboss effect and then masked the result in a rounded rectangle to remove the harsh corners. Personally I think the effect is great but I wanted to showcase selected pages of the book to make sure you are reasonably happy with the result. I had to move sections of the text around to get it all to fit logically but the book still reads the same as a whole entity.
  10. While MO does make some sensible suggestions, it doesn't get everything right. On my install, it suggested that the OBIS "H" update was moved before the OBIS main "G" release which doesn't make sense.
  11. Should this thread be in Tamriel Traders - Skyrim or even the Gaming forum instead of the Mod reviews?
  12. That is a good explanation, thanks. The performance in 6.0 is great by the way - I turn off DoF as a personal preference but still average 50fps at 1440p outdoors.
  13. I have now had a look at the waterfall near Honningbrew Meadery very early in the morning (06:00) on a clear day (0x0005B7BD) and while I can see dark grey foam appearing as the water flows downstream past the bridge, it is barely noticeable. During the day it is the light grey foamy texture that, at night, is displayed a little darker than expected but to be honest it is a very minor thing and will vary depending on the lighting at the time.
  14. Re the Telrav quest issue - the last time I had that problem was without SR:LE or OBIS. I had attacked Telrav before letting him path to the end of the track. The message to "Kill Telrav" did not have time to pop up as I shot him just before he became aggro. That, of course, meant his buddies engaged and all hell broke loose but the quest stayed active forever.
  15. At a quick glance, the bloom seems more under control but it is too bright and sunny today to get a good impression - give me half a day and I'll have a better look when my blinds are closed. I did notice one issue which may just be the lighting in my room. Very early in the game morning, spray near waterfalls seems darker than I expected although it was good in the daylight. I will take some test screenshots later and check if what I saw was repeatable.
  16. I Googled "skyrim clean save" and this came up... it may be a useful answer for you - https://themodgal.wordpress.com/2013/03/28/clean-saving-what-it-does-and-when-you-should-or-shouldnt-do-it/
  17. Report it to the Nexus, not us.
  18. Cheers - it is good to know the reasoning behind new inclusions in the guide.
  19. I see the Uncapper is in the latest list... is there a specific use you have in mind for it at the moment or is it in place for a future need?
  20. Ah, that is a relief - I wondered what it was caused by. Thanks! It will add an interesting roleplaying twist... do I leave the bandit to recover and crawl away or do I kill him? Can I throw a Healing Tough at the Companion to revive them quickly? I will have to check how NPCs are supposed to be killable since I had a damned good go at killing the two fallen Bandit Mages. I will read the mod and experiment next time.
  21. Vividian 6.0b has a significant bloom effect that needs tweaking, so it may be worth waiting to go to 6.0 when it is tweaked.
  22. I have no idea what I have messed up in my install but I have some issues with my current SR:LE play through that I have not seen before and I could use some help diagnosing the problems. The only deviations from the Guide are Arissa and the Breezehome Fully Upgradeable mods. Issue 1 : uncommonly, NPCs such as Bandits will get stuck at 1HP after combat. They will go down and lie there "dead" but I can't loot them. I just see their health bar with what appears to be 1HP left and it doesn't regenerate. I saw it once on a Bandit Mage outside Embershard Mine. I killed him but could not loot the body. I left the mine for later and went on to Riverwood. When I returned to the mine the next day he was up on his feet, still on 1hp, but aggro as usual. It happened again today with another Bandit Mage in the hills near Helgen. Issue 2 : Follower fails to rise from Bleedout. This happens every time. I have Arissa (v1.3) and when she enters bleedout on her knees, she then "dies" and falls over dead. The NPCs ignore her and turn to me but after the fight she does not get back up. She has no HP bar and appears dead. I can't loot or move her. She is supposed to be Essential. I suspect if I leave the area she will recover and track me down but I would like to sort it out. Issue 3 : Faction - threatened by Stormcloaks. Although I have Alternate Start, I did the cart ride. When I encountered a Stormcloak Patrol after leaving Falkreath with Arissa, they were threatening to me - drawing and warning me to back off. I had no bounty and had done nothing to give rise to this behaviour. The Falkreath Guards are happy with me.
  23. Morrowind is now on -50% sale.
  24. There is the mouse camera sensitivity in the Settings menu but I have to ask... are you trying to use a graphics tablet? They have a different dpi and control method to mice and do not play nice with Skyrim.
  25. But won't you have to re-download the main texture files from Steam if you ever have to reinstall? If you archive the files, you don't save the space.
