Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
DanielCoffey replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Relighting Skyrim appears to have updated to v3.6 on the Nexus and we are running the special edition of 3.6b in SR:LE. Is a new special edition required? Skyrim Flora Overhaul has updated too with some broad changes. -
Naked NPC - Faldrus
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
I spent half an hour searching the area between the Shrine and where I spotted him and he was gone. I summoned the real Faldrus and realised that was not the NPC I had seen. I will have to wait till I see someone else and screenshot their name before we can investigate. -
I encountered Faldrus the Dunmer Mage who is on Pilgrimage to Azura''s Shrine in the vicinity of Falkreath and he was naked apart from a hooded cloak. It does not appear that any mods in SR:LE edit his record but I cannot find any clothing attached to him when I look at the NPC (Actor) record for him. The weather was fine, radiantly sunny and it was daytime but the cloak must have come from somewhere. What do I need to check in order to find what he was expected to be wearing? I have not been able to reproduce this issue and when I summoned Faldrus, he was properly clothed. I will check to make sure it was that NPC.

Is there a sorting Mod that you guys would endorse?
DanielCoffey replied to ShadowNirvana's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Better Skill and Quest Book Names adds the (Skillname) and (Map Marker) type indicators to the books (but no other objects). EBS just deals with the (Skillname) but also affects a broader set of items than books. But here's the good bit... In my Compatibility Patch Collection there is a patch between BCS and BSQBN which does not require you to actually have BSQBN in your load order. You could install Book Covers Skyrim, Enhanced Better Sorting and then the BCS-BSQBN patch. You would get the BCS covers with the EBS names for book (and everything else) AND the BSQBN-style skill, quest and map marker labels too. Does that make sense? You would need the main BCS and EBS mods as well as the Compatibility Patch for BCS-EBS and BCS-BSQBN. You could profitably combine the BCS-EBS and BCS-BSQBN patches in TES5EDIT into one if you were familiar with the tool. -

DanielCoffey replied to ShadowNirvana's question in General Skyrim LE Support
There are Compatibility Patches between Book Covers Skyrim and Enhanced Better Sorting, REZ Sorting Mod and Another Sorting Mod. You can find the patches in the Book Covers Skyrim - Compatibility Patch Collection on the Nexus. Be aware that the patch included in Enhanced Better Sorting itself for books is out of date which is why I have just provided a new one. -
Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I have got to the point of almost 90 books covered and formatted (English only, of course) and am considering making an interim release of the Lost Library with the books so far added to levelled lists and a few hand-placed skill books along with a couple of the simpler cache hunts but I am concerned about the behaviour of things like skill books and treasure maps when players upgrade to a subsequent version. If those who have access to the Modders sub-forum could have a look at my questions there and perhaps give their opinions I would be grateful. Oh, and if I do make an interim release, I will be making immediate Compatibility Patches for the Seaside Library by Jokerine and uglydemon's Raven Rock Expanded so they can take immediate advantage of the new covers. SkyRe will be considered too because of the Fingersmith/Wayfarer tree changes. While I really want to share the work I have done so far, I am well aware that a mod only gets one chance to be "new" and that if it is released in a very limited form and then gets picked up by someone like Gopher/Brodual/Hodi and reviewed in that form, an opportunity is lost. It has to look good right out of the gate for maximum impact. -

I think I have just hit the same installer trouble as you. Vividian - Presets fails to install the ESPs and I got a corrupted (0 bytes) texture too. If there is no info on the MO page by tomorrow I will drop back to 1.1.2. -

Neo - should we update to the 1.2.0 beta version of ModOrganizer or stay at 1.1.2 + downgrade at the moment? -

Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library

I will be asking around nearer the time for possible conflicts. I will be avoiding inns because I know there are several mods for those and I know the small towns tend to get modded too. -
Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Progress on the Lost Library is slow but marching steadily on... 68 books have been created so far. I will be prioritising Morrowind books for a while since they may be of use to the SkyWind team. -
Don't Want to Use Alternate Start
DanielCoffey replied to maedrhos's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Temporarily put the mod in your Load Order, load the Conflict Resolution.esp in TES5EDIT and remove all records from the guide associated with Alternate Start then remove the ESP from the File Header of the Conflict Resolution. Sort Masters and you should be safe to then take the Alternate Start out of your MO load order. You could also leave the mod in and just pick the Alternate Start that deals with "I was caught crossing the border illegally". -

The folder structure with Vividian changed a couple of minor releases ago. You do need the enbseries folder but can safely ignore the instruction about the data folder for the moment. -
Bold and Italic in Skyrim Books
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Given that Vanilla Skyrim + SKSE still ignores the bold and italic mark up, I will have to as well. -
As part of the Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library work I have been looking at the Bold and Italic markup that the CK says we can use to change the appearance of text in books but I am having problems getting it to work. It seems that no matter where in the text I put both the or tags and their closing tags, (spaces added to not confuse this forum), they are simply ignored and I could use some help. One vanilla book that I know is supposed to have both bold and italic text is the Effects of the Elder Scrolls (0003010B). Do any of you see the bold or italic in that book when read? I would really like to use the formatting in Fools' Ebony to make it more readable.

5.24 is working beautifully for me. Thanks for all the continuing work. I have to confess to turning off the DoF because I find the effect a little tiring on the eyes but I think the new soft Bloom is amazing. I see from the readmes that the Brighter Interiors alt presets are considered a little behind the curve as far as tweaking is concerned. How far from your ideal do you think they are?

There have been previous short discussions about Skywind over the past half year or so that come up in the Forum Search but you would be better off asking a Mod to move this thread into the Tamriel Traders - Gaming forum rather than this one which is for discussion on Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited pack.

Correct - you will find plenty of situations like this in the SRLE guide. -

No - rename. MO is telling you that there is a mod with the same description as what you are about to install (usually an optional download of a mod). Rename and choose a new name (such as ELFX, ELXF - DG and ELFX - DB). -
The performance of 5.20 seems comparable to 5.10. I get the same frame rate outside Riverwood and also looking down the steps at Dragonsreach. I can tell the difference in the 5.20 Bloom code when near braziers but will have to wait till it is darker here to check small light sources as I have a lot of background light in the room.

SR:LE is not really a Pack to drop onto 2.2.8 but more an alternative to it. It's intentions are different. -
I will be sticking with my single 780ti for the time being but spending the cash on a Caselabs S8 in white since they have a $20 discount at the moment. Once I realised my low framerate issue went away after a reset, I was seriously relieved as I was expecting to have to buy the second card and extra radiators.
-
A little info from my latest round of overclocking to squeeze more out of Vividian... With Vividian 5.10 (full) and the 0.252 dll, I am able to get 50+ fps on my single 780ti at 1440p even in places like Riverwood and Whiterun looking down the steps over the town. To date, every indoor location has been a rock steady capped 60fps with the GPU utilized at about 75%. The only change from the stock preset is that I have turned off DoF. The reason I was seeing if I could push this further was because I ran into a bad spot last night where my FPS was about half what I was expecting and I created some test saves at spots to evaluate the Vividian performance vs full versions. It turned out that a simple power reset on the PC solved the issue. I don't know what caused the frame rate to halve but I will be watching for it reoccurring. Quitting Skyrim was not enough to restore the performance - it needed a power reset. Once I had reset the PC and the performance was back, I decided to see if I could push the card even further. I seem to have been very lucky indeed with the card I have been sent since it is only specced to boost to 928MHz at 0.950V. I got it to 1248MHz at 0.975V and today I pushed it to 1300MHz at 1.000V before artefacts crept in. Temperatures under water-cooling are a steady 46C. I don't think there is any point in raising the OC on the processor since the GPU is just about 100% utilised outdoors. The preset looks lovely and I am looking forward to following its development as you adjust it in the future.
