Naked NPC - Kust
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Aha - that was what I had missed - thank you. Kust is back in his clothes now because I had omitted the Bash tags. -
New wave of Nexus Endorsements
DanielCoffey posted a topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I was wondering if there was something behind the sudden wave of Nexus Endorsements that I have seen on my own mods and others near it in the lists in the past couple of days? Prior to today, I was used to a few endorsements a day - say between 5 and 10 - and was looking at my counter slowly approaching 6950... then when I looked this morning it had blown past 7000 and by the end of the day it was heading to 7100. I was trying to work out why. Perhaps Book Covers Skyrim had been featured on Reddit somewhere? Maybe Brodual had done a new video? I do have a theory however... I notice that in the past day or so there has been a new nag screen on the Nexus saying "Here are some mods you are using but have not Endorsed yet...". Do you think folks are being prompted by this to go through the mods they currently use and actually endorse them? Can anyone shed some light on this? Why would I have got a fortnight's Endorsements in one day? -
I have just started a new play through and found that the vanilla NPC Kust in the Falkreath graveyard was practically naked. He was wearing an iron dagger across his hip, what looked like iron bracers but nothing else at all. Arissa didn't know where to look! According to TES5EDIT, his Default Outfit is ArmorIronNoHelmetOutfit. That outfit contains 1 instance of LVLI ArmorIronSetNoHelmet. LVLI ArmorIronSetNoHelmet is only edited by aMidianBorn_ContentAddon.esp and ends up in the Bashed Patch as a result. Vanilla Skyrim gives this list "Use All" - Iron Gauntlets, Iron Armor and Iron Boots. AMB_ContentAddon gives it "Calculate for Each Item in Count" and a choice of ArmorIronSetNoHelmetWhite_AMB or ArmorIronSetNoHelmet_AMB When the Bashed Patch merges the two, it keeps both the "Calculate for each Item" and the "Use All" flags and the "Calc for each Item" wins. This means that when it drew up Kust's equipment in my play through, it rolled for the Bracers and nothing else. Do we need to add this into the Conflict Resolution so the Bashed Patch either knows what to do or isn't so confused?

SKYRIMLE Better Dwemer Spider Textures (by Naitrii)
DanielCoffey replied to egocarib's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If you read the lore about the Dwemer, they used arcane knowledge which is now lost to create these constructs - they are not just put together from kits by mechanics. Their programming and energy sources and how the soul gems link into that is not something that the player could pick up easily. -

You have an incorrect link in the guide for Dynamic Patches - ASIS. It goes to a Nexus link for a hidden version of NPC Enchantment Fix rather than the current link for ASIS. With the archive for ASIS, should there be an instruction to Not Install the Docs folder? -
OK, I have checked and I am not using the ELFX Enhancer (although I do have ELFX-Exteriors.esp as specified in the SR:LE) and here are the weather stats... If you ever decide there is a viable alternative mod, could you let us know because since it is now out of the guide we may miss the fact we then have to delete NPC Enchantments Fix. EDIT : I was just looking at the recent update in the Guide concerning Dual Sheathe Redux and I am trying to work out what was changed. The majority of what is edited recently already seems to have been in the Guide but I see the "Dual Sheath Redux - On Back Meshes" is not listed. Are we to remove that optional? -
I swapped to the dropbox version you linked and reloaded that save. For the first few seconds, there was no visible smoke from the forge and then it drifted up in a strong blue column. I admit I am standing up at the top of the roof in the path of the smoke to show the effect more strongly but it is very distinct. The time of day is 10am and the sky is the bright blue, sunny with occasional white clouds. There was no visible difference in the smoke between the version I had earlier today and the new one.
-
I have found a minor issue with 6.0b which you make want to ensure is working as intended... The colour of smoke seems to have more of a blue tint than I was expecting. Standing in Riverwood next to the forge on a bright, sunny day and watching the smoke as it rises over the rooftops I noted that it has a somewhat persistent blue colour. I saw the same blue on mid-distant waterfalls but it may just be an issue of getting used to the new palette. I used TCL to stand looking down on the smoke and got a better shot of the colour which I can show you if you can't reproduce it. The mods I am using are the SR:LE collection.

ACCEPTED Book Covers Skyrim (by DanielCoffey and doccdr)
DanielCoffey replied to dstansberry's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I have updated Book Covers Skyrim and set the width of the standard books at 3.0. The effect is to give 29 books per shelf when using Bookshelves Updated Script SKSE (although it is a tight squeeze - two books can safely be removed to allow them to relax). There is still the issue of the standard books floating above the shelf but even the author of the Bookshelves script agrees there is not much we can do about that. Viewed from above it is not too bad... -
The colour palette change is immediately noticeable and does change how the ENB "feels". It seems more natural and a little less autumnal, if that makes sense. I was accustomed to the old palette but will not find it hard to switch. The bloom seems different too. I know you said it changed but I can't put my finger on a good explanation for the experience. Is the bloom a bit stronger in some situations where there is mist or smoke? I did see a significant performance improvement over 5.50 with DoF off. At the coc Riverwood location I was getting 51fps at 1440p which is a few fps higher than before. I remember that with 4.151 I got 37fps outside Riverwood, 5.0 gave me 39fps and 5.50 gave me around low to mid 40s. Now it is 51fps steady. Also, do you intend to offer a Brighter Nights and Interiors option again?

ACCEPTED Book Covers Skyrim (by DanielCoffey and doccdr)
DanielCoffey replied to dstansberry's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Problem solved... The CK told be the books were 2.0 units wide (which is not an issue with the vanilla bookshelves as the books are placed in a fixed slot) but the Bookshelves script causes books to overlap. Making them 3.0 wide means that the Bookshelves script squeezes 29 per shelf (there is actually only room for 27) so a few will stick together occasionally and taking a couple off the shelf means they sit nicely. If I make them 4.0 wide, I only get 22 books on the shelf and there are gaps but they never stick to each other. It appears that the *actual* width of a small book is "three and a bit" but I have to use integers. Once I have checked the actual width of the large books, I will make the change to Book Covers Skyrim and push out an update. -
ACCEPTED Book Covers Skyrim (by DanielCoffey and doccdr)
DanielCoffey replied to dstansberry's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I have found an issue with Book Covers Skyrim when used with the Bookshelves Updated Script SKSE mod and I am investigating. It concerns the OBND Object Bounds values. I believe the CK gave me the incorrect values for the standard Book and as a result they are sticking inside each other when placed on a shelf with Bookshelves Updated Script SKSE. I will be testing for a day or so to find the *actual* width of a book rather than the width suggested by the CK and will issue an update (and reflect it into the Compatibility Patches). -

Perky - the History option in the wiki is very useful because it will also show removals from the mods. That way you need never miss updates. Remember to check the Conflict Resolution patch too. -
Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
It is nice to get these suggestions for opportunities to place the more common books that would fit as "clutter". There were some outdoor locations I spotted too but I am not sure if they are notable because of the outdoor mods used in SR:LE so I will be bookmarking locations then checking them in Vanilla. I will be avoiding taverns and town exteriors as these tend to be heavily modded already but I can see opportunities to place certain books in dwellings. Once the texture work is largely complete, I will be deciding which books are to be skill books and pulling them from the levelled lists for hand-placing. Two or three copies of each around the world should do it. -
Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I agree about lowering the chances of books appearing - I am balancing it at the moment and I have already about halved the chances so far as too many were appearing. If there is a library which is in the vanilla game, it would make a logical place to add some extra books (such as the dungeon you get sent to by Urag to track that missing mage and his stolen books) but I will avoid the Arcanaeum as too many mods dump extra books in there already. -

RND has not been supported for quite a long time and was needing more and more compatibility patches and conflict resolution. iNeed can turn on eating for followers too. It is such a shame that Diseased is also not up to date (it is missing DB compatibility) as it handles diseases quite well. -
Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Passed one hundred books done now... the Book of Circles (four volumes) was a lovely piece of Redguard fable and history and it will be interesting to find places to put a copy or two. The "Guide to ..." books knocked off another dozen but I did come across issues with Bloom since the covers were light. I aged them a bit and the issue lessened. Since each of the Morrowind Guides had maps included but they were the wrong size, I simply scaled the old copy to the correct width then redrew the entire map by hand on a transparent background. They are black and white so are small files.
