  1. Pardon me if this has been asked before (too many pages in this thread to go through!) I was just wondering will this replace the need for Skyfalls? I'm using Pure- Waterfalls which is not compatible with skyfalls, just hoping for an alternative.
  2. But if I turn AF to Off in both the drivers and the ENB, shouldn't I see some sort of difference, or is it that subtle? In my enblocal the lod bias is: ForceLodBias=falseLodBias=0.0 I've not seen anything saying I should change that.
  3. I've been getting a lot of help here recently so I thought I should probably introduce myself instead of just lurking and asking questions every time I run into an issue. Without getting overly-personal... my name is Alicia and I live in beautiful Oregon, recently settling here after many years living in various places. I'm currently in a "life transition" you could say, as I used to be a professional dancer and am in the process of figuring out what's next. I suppose you could say I'm retired, but young enough to be a career-changer retiree, not a move-to-Florida-and-golf retiree :) So basically I find myself with a lot of time on my hands and am enjoying things I never had time for before, such as games like Skyrim, which my husband introduced me to (I think he regrets that now, lol). I only played Skyrim once, on console, and the entire time I was thinking of all the ways it could be better, and how it felt unfinished. Being a creative/artistic type I could easily imagine all the ways I would like to change it, but I had no idea modding even existed. I think I learned about it by somehow stumbling onto Gopher's channel one day, and was amazed to learn of mods and this entire community which puts so much creative effort into making this game miles better than it was. I'm very much a hands-on, tinkerer kind of person (power tools live happily beside canvas and paints in my world) so I really love and appreciate the process of learning how all these modding tools work together, and being able to create a very individualized Skyrim. The process is helping to fill an artistic niche in my life that's been lacking recently, so thank you to all the modders and tech people who give their time and advice for all us ignorant newbs :)
  4. Hi, I was recently told by someone knowledgeable that it looks like my anisotropic filtering is off. It's enabled in my ENB so I was confused by this. It was suggested I turn it off in the ENB and on in my drivers. I did this, no change. I enabled it a variety of different ways and any way I do it I see no change, including turning it off everywhere. Here is a picture of the tundra with AF enabled in my ENB but off everywhere else, as instructed by the ENB author: https://imgur.com/MVd835r And here is a picture with AF disabled everywhere- drivers, skyrim launcher, enb, all off: https://imgur.com/7ADe0Zj I should also say it was this picture which prompted the observation that AF was off. I don't know what else to take a picture of for an example. So... I don't know what to make of this and really, I don't even know what it's -supposed- to look like with AF off, so I can't even say what's wrong with the picture other than clearly it's not working if I can turn it off everywhere and get the same result. Does the image look wrong to you guys? What is it supposed to look like with AF and why would my AF not be working? Here's a picture of the relevant parts of the Inspector pane, I don't know what most of it does, I just followed STEP and the ENB author's recommendations: https://imgur.com/oQfkgWe Any help with this puzzling situation would be wonderful. *Edit: I just realized my thumbnails were not going full size when clicked for some reason, so I added direct links below the images.
  5. Really interesting convo, thanks. I don't think I'm ready to get into the CK though, it feels a bit overwhelming.
  6. Hi, I use a few mods that change towns/cities, like a lot of us probably do- for me it's JK Cities, ETaC, and Skyrim Sewers. Looking in TESedit I do notice some conflicting worldspace and nav mesh edits between these and certain other mods, such as Interesting NPCs. I'm just not sure what if anything to do about them. If I make a patch, how do I choose which mod's changes to use? It's nowhere near as obvious as say, NPC stat changes. Reviewing the mod pages on Nexus I don't see anything in particular warning about conflicts, or anyone else even noting them- in fact in many cases when people ask "Is JK compatible?", for instance, they get responses saying yes, even though I can clearly see the conflicting records. Am I just being overzealous?
  7. Ah ok, for some reason I had them swapped in my head, thanks
  8. Bit confused, I just downloaded this and there are no meshes in the fix.
  9. Recently in a discussion on a mod page a comment was made saying that the bethesda hi res dlc should not be used alongside skyrim hd2k as it causes memory problems. The discussion suggested that the entirety of the bethesda hi res textures were getting loaded in along with all the rest. This seems like nonsense to me, though I suppose possible if you're not using Mod Organizer it's possible. But I suppose, since it's in your data folder on launch it could be loading up the whole dlc? MO bypasses all that though, yes? Anyway it's bugging me so I thought I would ask here to get an expert opinion :)
  10. Finally, I got something right! Thanks for the reply :D
  11. Just a random thing I've been wondering about textures. When you overwrite one texture with another, does the overwritten texture still load or "count" as part of your Vram usage, or even memory usage in general, or does the engine ignore it as if it never existed? thanks
  12. Thanks, another thing for me to test out in my great game of "modding skyrim" :)
  13. Hmm, is there a performance difference?
  14. I just found this mod yesterday and became an instant fan. The author of SkyFalls just posted a few days ago that he is working on a patch but that it may not be completely necessary if using Dyndolod. Honestly I would use this mod even if it meant my LOD waterfalls would be ice bricks forever, I love it that much. I live in a land of waterfalls and see them just about every day, and what TechAngel said about the amount of water coming over the falls not matching the flow at the bottom is spot-on and has always really bugged me, along with the falls at the topline which are way too smooth- even with a water mod they look more like ski slopes than waterfalls to me. This mod fixes that. Here's a couple quick comparison shots I took: No waterfall mod: (Using RW2): With Waterfall mod (using Pure Waters, but it's also compatible with RW2) Links to full sizes: waterfalls no waterfalls
  15. Project Parallax Remastered has a Skyrim HD 2K version, I wonder how they compare?
  16. I doubt many people even know it exists. I only heard about it in this thread and it wasn't until today that I had time to search the thread to find the OP with the link and actually take a look at it. Signatures will likely remain low unless it can get greater visibility...maybe the person who made it can ask one of the people who run youtube channels to post it or mention it. Gopher, Brodual, etc.
  17. Apologies but I haven't kept up with the thread. What petition?
  18. Optional auto-donate would be great. There is also a way you can set up your paypal so that your donation is a gift, waiving the fee they normally take.
  19. I'm wondering if this would have happened if more people donated to the authors via Nexus.
  20. And here's the Brodual review: https://youtu.be/vk9z61awvHQ
  21. Has anyone from STEP tested this mod out? It's had a recent update and it looks pretty amazing. Wondering how it would work in a STEP-based setup.
  22. JawZ, thanks for the tutorial video, that was super informative!
  23. So, how can you tell in TES5Edit how many lightbulbs are being used on a particular mesh? Or is editing bulbs something you have to do in the CK?
