  1. What location is the bottom set with the light? That actually has me intrigued.. never seen that before! For the clouds and water.. is it like that on all weathers or just one ? It is a bit odd that they both are off, since they do not share the same variables, hence I would think that it is a mesh issue. Will investigate further! Also make sure the particle patch is actually what is loaded, if you use MO etc. Many other mods could be overwriting the meshes.
  2. My only issue with this mod is that the roofs, while nice, are just too tidy and ordered... and when you have a large amount of houses like riverwood, then they just stand out too much. As it is now it looks like they have a crew comming around putting on a brand new roof every other day! I like the more rough, and messy looking textures from seriousHD... However the wood textures I might put in since those are quite nice, and actually look like wood.
  3. No just the specific ones related to water effects.
  4. RWT already uses the meshes from the particle patch.. so it does not matter if it comes before or after.
  5. Thank you root! However you are a bit off! ;) 1. yes 2. yes 3. like root says.. just keep using the same enbeffectprepass.fx file and you are set. You can use it for any ENB. 4. yes 5. yes... I kinda helped develop the weather patch :P 6. Kinda... it is not muted as much as unreal, but I could fix that up for ya. I have been considering making a muted version these past few days anyways. Just let me know the dominant tone you want and I will get cooking! :) 7. yes 8. YES... if you do not then O_o 9. Technically no... since depending on weather location and view angle then this will happen for any ENB... unless they have no shadow intensity at all. The first person bug is ALWAYS there, since Boris cant fix it. The best you can do is hide it, but if you look closely then it is always there. The glow depends on quite a few factors, but is essentially also always there if you look for it. However when you use muted colors then the shadow intensity drop and it is not as noticeable as with higher contrast usage. 10. yes Prod is doing some lovely work... keeping tabs on that, and trying to help out a bit every night! However it is NOT going to be muted at all, Prod loves his bloom! So if that is the main criteria then it wont happen.
  6. Are you using the Particle patch by mindflux ? That is the most likely explaination for issues with foam and mountain fog. Since the original meshes have bad settings. I am going to need to see screenshots of the bright lights you talk about since it could be a number of things. Also need the location in which it is happening.
  7. In the enblocal.ini under MEMORY then try to set these. ReservedMemorySizeMb=512 VideoMemorySizeMb=8192 Bit surprised that the dragon one eats that much... but I guess if you are at a point where random dragons can spawn then it will need to load in that much. Even more about finer dust... since that is just a single texture as I recall. Oh well VRAM measurements are kinda silly that way. Part reason I hate using it as an indicator for anything. One game you get one result, the next you get another, and when you compare with other people they report something entirely different.
  8. Well you can use mods to reduce how fast you gain new skill by quite a bit... will make the game last quite a bit longer. But it allows you to get grind level that fits you.
  9. No it just the speed of your CPU... it does take quite a while to do. I recommend learning how to do it, then start the big ones before dinner or a movie! ;)
  10. Higher level enemies and some other mod that handles merchants. I used immersive loot as a base for my setup. However there was quite a few things I did not agree with the mod on... but at least it provides the forms that you need to edit, and while boring then it is not difficult to edit the leveled lists. However I am not aware of any mods that does all that you want without being an overhaul that adds lots of other stuff as well.
  11. hehe Would be a really bad place to go for anything, since I only test mods based on my own very limited build! There is a reason why I am a horrible horrible mod tester! I am getting old and conservative about my Skyrim stuff! ;) That said then this texture mod is not bad by any means, but it just does not fit to my needs atm!
  12. Disliked the textures... they do not fit with what I have currently. They are in fact almost too well done. I think a few of the details actually stand out too much so that you start to see the repetitive pattern in the texture a bit too much. Also a few of the highlights are a bit too bright imo. But mostly they just do not fit with my other landscape uses currently! Also I am very picky when it comes to the color of the rock textures... currently I use a dark grey/brown mix which just fits... going away from that ruin the view for me. That said then the texture is really detailed and as the shots show excellent for screenshots! Quite a bit of detail have been put in for both good and bad, as I mentioned above.
  13. If you are sure then it is very very odd. With your system I would try ENBoost out, using 8Gb as the value for video memory.. you have the RAM to spare easily.
  14. It is not physically possible for your game to use 2Gb of memory if you are using a mix of 1024, and 512 textures. The math quite simply does not add up. I have run with that on a 768Mb card without severe lag spike issues. So I am sure there must have sneaked at least a few 2k resolution mods into your mix somewhere. And from the values you report then my guess would be one of the major texture overhauls. Optimizing the textures would certainly be a great way to get some more memory to play with. Alternatively you can play around with ENBoost and see if that helps ya out. I have a 2Gb card personally, and I run with full 2k textures and even a few 4k ones for kicks, and I do not have any severe lag spikes on my system. Granted there are many factors to this, but I would really go double check the size of your texture mods. 1k files should generally be 1.3Mb a piece, and 2k about 5Mb.
  15. Reduce your texture load. The lag spiking is a symptom of having too many high res textures installed compared to what your rig can handle. There is plenty of info about how to do this sort of thing around this forum. But if you just want the quick solution then just the the 1k version of whatever massive texture overhaul you might be using.
  16. Tech: My reply was mainly in response to mothergooses comment! In general I just want to clarify that there are areas where IPS are clearly superior, and some where TN panels are still vastly amazing. The link Spock shows is a good example. However this is again only a case if you actually do anything on your monitor that requires super slick, and fast movements while retaining full accuracy. Also in relation to that link, then one has to read what they actually say and not just look at the images, since those are zoomed in to really show the effect. In general the higher resolution the panel supports, the less of an issue the blur is going to be even at 60Hz. A 16 pixel distortion on 1440p... you have to look really hard to spot that. Ghosting is a more annoying issue due to the 5ms latency, but again this is mainly noticeable in really high contrast stuff, like having a white browser on a dark desktop background. Who would have thought this thread would get this far around! ;)
  17. Main problem with static worlds is that you run into the issue of limiting what you can add yourself in any meaningful way. One prime example is dragons... if you do the main quest up far enough random dragon encounters will start to happen. However if the dragons level is WAY WAY ahead of your own (And they will be, even more so if you use dragon mods) then you will get one shot. And these encounters will happen out in the middle of nowhere. You can ofc. just wait until you are high enough level, but there are also other quests events that do a similar thing where they add new actors, which if too high are just going to prevent you from ever doing anything related to said quest. Also mods that add extra spawns with non vanilla records will not be usable unless they have a direct patch, since they will most likely always be too nasty or too puny, it is really hard to control random encounters in a static world. My solution to this was to use Higher level enemies, in conjunction with some modified lists of my own. This mod has two settings.... scale all enemies up to your level, or only the "boss" in a pack, while the rest are spread a few levels below. (I like this since it makes mini bosses more interesting, and it is fun to knock a random lowly bandit out in a punch from time to time.) What I have done with the gear is made sure that no bandit will get higher level items, and severely limited enchantments on their weapons... since I just do not want to see bandits in daedric armor... ever. Also does it so that merchants lists are set so they do not start to sell daedric stuff for example, giving you a reason to seek out dangerous bosses, or leveling smithing. On top of this I also use skyrim immersive creatures, with added spawns, which adds all sorts of interesting enemies (more dangerous ones at night) which keeps the game fresh, since you never really know what awaits over the next hill. If you had a static game world this would no longer be the case. I also got extra vampires and werewolves running around at night.... so along with frostfall then going out at night is just about a death wish if you are not really well equipped, and/or escorted. ASIS is not really suggested to be used anymore (PISE even less), since it is so outdated these days. What it means with semi static, is that there are random encounters as part of the game. These take random enemies from a list and puts it into the gameworld relative to what level you are.... a so called leveled list. Also unless you ever go in and check the mods, then you will never really be told what regions or areas are what level.. you are going to have to find this out the hard way! Which means you can spend quite a bit of time just running away from stuff.... the idea sound good on paper, but trust me it gets tedious really fast! In short static game worlds are not really that fun when you get into it.... scaled enemies etc. are a better solution, the main problem in the vanilla game is that they stop scaling after a while... which just makes gameplay really boring, since you are going to be overpowered almost no matter what after level 40 (This get fixed by many many mods, higher level enemies being one of them). However if you are really adamant about trying it out, then try out some of the mods you have already found. (A note about the WTF one... I think it is the one that randomizes every dungeon and area each new game.... it is more hilarious then anything since you can get end game content that is set to level 1 and you will blow all the fools up.) Hope that gives a bit of stuff for thought etc.
  18. I think this mod is so popular by now that most people are going to use it, or at least know about it. The problem for STEP becomes that we say that the STEP list will provide a mod list that people can install and then it will work 100% If we recommend this and they start getting issues, then this is no longer the case. On that ground alone I do not vouch for inclusion or even mention. It is a tool for people with more complex lists, and when they have that sort of list, then they most likely also have the experience to know that there is a down side to using it in its current state. Edit: When I say STEP here, I mean the STEP guide... not any STEP based packs etc!
  19. While I agree based on the premise that there is a limited budget then I do not agree with anything else! IPS have superior color coverage over a wider view angle and it shows.... I went from my old TN panel samsung monitor, to my dell IPS... And as some of you might know I spend quite a bit of time doing ENB, and in general playing with color based stuff... and I can tell you 100% that you can clearly see a difference between a monitor that has down near 85-90% sRGB color coverage and an IPS with 95%+ Yes the refresh rate suffers, but like I mentioned earlier... unless you play racing games, FPS shooters semi professionally etc. then you are not going to notice it at all (at 5ms... going higher is not really useful for anything but office work). Also ofc. the superior viewing angle is a godsend. Even good TN panels with a high color coverage only have it in an extremely limited view range. In general you cant say "for gaming" like that.. since it depends on what you play. If you do not play any fast paced games then an IPS will give superior color, and generally just make the games, movies etc. look better then an TN panel ever could. If you do play fast paced games a lot, then a good TN panel is the way to go. But for most others then there just is not enough fast camera movement (Unless you play with an insane sensitivity, I play at 1400 DPI and cannot notice it in my games, I need to exceed 1800 before it becomes noticeable, but then it is just not pleasant for me anymore). I mean in a game like civ 5, or games like the witcher, etc. you just do not move the camera that much, hence the refresh rate issues are never going to be an actual issue. One good thing about the top end TN 120Hz panels is that you can do some funky contrast stuff with them due to the refresh rate... so it is not just for 3D gaming! Quite interesting if high contrast is a must for you! I would only ever recommend getting a tv for a computer monitor if you already have the required physical space, and furniture to be comfortable.
  20. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33227/? Who ever designed how those integrated chips work should buy "I messed up today" beers to all his co workers!
  21. Yeah his screenshots are not impressive.... Cabal might be good at textures, but he aint a screen archer expert ;) I almost also dimissed them based on the screenshots, but the lighting of an ENB really does wonders.
  22. Far superior with my ENB over vanilla and SRO imo. I like the transition from grey rock to a more weathered and grey/brownish look. Ofc. this depends on what other mods you use, but overall this was the texture overhaul for forts I was waiting for.
  23. Mainly it is related to the tonemapping, and is a symptom of having a too large dynamic range compared to the base color space the object has. Technically it comes down to the sky sphere in skyrim not allowing for full color range usage... for god knows what reason. The way to heavily reduce/remove it entirely it is by using a saturated noise shader, and/or dithering techniques. Again it also depends on which weathers you are dealing with. If the weathers have too large transitions in color going between day, sunset/dawn and night then it will happen more.
  24. The green of grasses is almost always going to be an issue, especially if you use ENB... since most of them boost up the green saturation levels, and/or increase the green though bloom. And grass can quite quickly become radioactive looking green with even small amounts of bloom. If the base green of the texture is quite high. I find that this also makes it quite annoying to do grass textures... since you have to make them look bad in the editor so they look good ingame. But in general then really desaturated grass is the way to go, even for the vanilla post processing. All of their textures are also fairly desaturated. However I have recently begun taking a look at this mixed with SFO grasses... gonna need to do more testing, but it looks promising!
  25. Also you know..... girls might be playing the game! :o
