  1. Bro, why do you keep asking about how something will look on your monitor, with your settings? It does not make any sense! :) I could understand it if it was something that would mess up a save! Since this is just a mesh, texture replacement, then nothing bad would ever happen from just trying it out, and if you find you do not like it then just go back to what you used before! Also since you do not specify which ENB you use other then it is strong make it kinda hard for people to come with suggestions/experiences if they happen to use similar settings!
  2. Yeah the top would look bad if more dense, was more the bottom parts I thought could use a bit more rather then having the middle look so dense. As long as the "scalemail" look is reduced as much as possible, since it kinda stands out when you have many trees near each other. But might just be me who notices the patterns and find them a bit unnatural.
  3. Most certainly a step in the right direction! Atm it looks like the middle of the tree is the most full an dense part, looks a bit off I think. I really do like the new colors though! But man it is hard to get a full look without a dense amount of trees to look all similar... guess this is why they went with a sparse looking setup to begin with... along with the savings to polygon counts.
  4. Yes if the location and time of day is correct, then the volumentric rays can look really epic. And thanks, we try, but there are still so many bugs when ENB is used and stuff to improve upon! :)
  5. Yes it is safe, the only problem is finding one you like, and then optimize it for your rig. Always remember that the performance is not set in stone, most ENB presets use above average settings, and enable many more features then you might actually get any visual benefit from.
  6. Anything that goes into the skyrim folder you still need to install manually.
  7. Show off you :P
  8. Sounds great! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! Would be very nice that in locations that are really dark you deviate from the realism, and go for a more cinematic approach. This is a game after all.... and anything that is pitch black is just annoying to play with.
  9. GPU´s do not have an as fine separated usage curve as CPU´s do. Most GPU, have just 3 or 4 settings. No load 0% low load 33% Medium load 66% (not all have this) full load 99% The GPU will always be in one of those states. Hence it the usage figure is not usable when determining a bottleneck. A hard FPS limit that you cannot get above shows a GPU bottleneck, since then it simply cannot render all effects fast enough.
  10. William: The main problem for games with what you propose is that game engines are mostly developed by independent companies who then licence the engine to other companies. However most do have really fair business models, that entirely depend on how good a game you make. The better it sells, the better royalties agreements you can make. ofc. you can then also pay for modifications, and full support etc. to make sure you can make the game you want.
  11. You only pay for the extra diffuse textures, the normal map is shared among all variants. It is hard to tell how much extra stress it will do, since it depends on mod list, ingame location, and time of day.
  12. Once I become rich and stuff I will get a full passive water cooled rig... They are going down in price each year. I would also actually hurt my air flow if I install a cooler with that massive a cooling element on it. I have a 25cm fan on the side of my case, it keeps everything in order. And since it is so huge you can hardly hear it... what I hear is the CPU cooler under heavy load.... and then the other case fans.
  13. Well many people do not like bloom based ENB´s. Many things can be said about Realvision, but many people just like the high contrast, high saturation look. I also think Kountervibe, K-ENB and many other bloom based ENB´s are really beautiful! However I find that after playing with them for a while the bloom starts to annoy me. But such epic screenshots that can be made using those! The main drawback with Kyo´s work atm, is that his files are so massive, and with all the settings on max, then it is really in dire need of some major optimization (The difference between his and my ENB enbeffect.fx file is actually measureable in several FPS. )! His creativity is really epic, however he does tend to forget that not many people have the beast of a machine he does! :) But yeah I hope he continues doing what he is doing, since he really do inspire me to produce better stuff!
  14. Well the only reason those air coolers are effective is because.... as phazer points out.. they are MASSIVE! The sheer amount of cooling elements make it so that they can take up a lot of heat. However when compared to the H60/H110 and their cooling element size... then yeah.. the efficiency difference speaks for itself. Atm I am quite satisfied with my intel stock cooler... it actually performs quite well, even under full game load! But I also do not OC my CPU at all.
  15. True that! I would probably go about it and force the rocks into new unique meshes (And leave mountains as they are) with unique texture paths instead. Sadly the amount of worldspace edits required to do that would be rather huge. Not to mention the compatibility hell.
  16. Going to try this out tonight! Already used the early implementation and was quite happy with it. The various stretching on rocks etc. is just a sad fact of how the game is made. Other then to manually edit every rock mesh, and redo every UV map then I do not see a way that is ever going to go away entirely. Would have been epic if the rock meshes had UV maps made so that the texture could have been made so that it transitions more smoothly into the new texture instead of just a harsh line.
  17. Well ENB manager have been known to .... for some reason that is entirely beyond my understanding .. to cause issues with the ENB settings. It is a program that supposedly just copy paste for you... so how it actually affects anything. I always recommend manual installation over using it. However if it is not due to having AA on in your driver control panel, then it will most likely be related to a mod... in this case a dragon mod, not installed properly.
  18. Most likely you have hardware AA still enabled. It is almost always the case when meshes are not rendered at all.
  19. The latest cloud shadow feature is a perfect example. Upon release Boris said that he would expect AMD cards to have issues with it, and so far I have only had people with AMD cards that does not like the feature, so true enough. However most of those are older cards, and probably also older drivers... But it shows the kind of headaches that you might have. He will probably figure out how to fix it down the road... but well the waiting can be annoying. I in general never suggest people to get the largest and meanest card from either vendor, it is normally much better to get the one with the best performance/cost ratio, since games have not yet gone truly into the next generation, and even when they do the resolution of choice is still 1080p so they should be able to last a few years still. Edit: Also water cooling is always going to be at least 30% more effective then Air cooling I think it is... just due to the physics involved alone (I cba to look up the heat transfer coefficients etc. atm. so dont shot me if I have the wrong number!). Granted they do cost a bit more, and any safety issues are kinda long gone, unless you really mess up.
  20. \o/ let there be coins for everyone!
  21. You are 100% that the ini´s for the profile you are trying to launch has the proper settings. I never use the startup menu at all, just launch via SKSE. I had the same issue with resolutions when I got a new monitor, but all I had to do was make sure the profile ini´s has the correct values.
  22. Okay this has been covered in many other threads, but here goes again! :) Always pick loose files over bsa. The marginal load time gains (We are at most talking seconds) from having a bsa. archive does not make up for how much simpler it is to keep control of everything when it is loose. Also most modern computers do not have harddrive space issues, so the bit you save on that account is again not really worth it. MO will just unpack any bsa archive if you ask it too, so it does not matter if the author of a mod has only made a bsa. version. In fact there it does make sense since it makes for smaller downloads, which for many still is an issue!
  23. Try with 4096 with those specs.
  24. That it is a big freaking knife that glows from time to time ? And said knife sorta does not look like my kitchen knife! :P And I should find some sexy knives for my game, instead of just the kinda meh default ones!
  25. lol ya are crazy... you buy a super powerful card (That can most likely run anything current without sweating), yet OC it for minimal returns and risk frying it! But only talk about voiding the warranty afterwards! Good stuff! :)
