The skyrim process alone should stay under 3.1Gb. The ENB one is hardcoded to stay under 10Gb. So yes they are completely separate when it comes to usage. What is smart in ENB is that it moves texture data from skyrim over into its processes allowing for more room in the skyrim process. Basically put. If you think you have CTD´s due to memory issues, try to revert to just using the HDDLC textures (If using MO and have them as their own mod then this is as simple as moving them all to the bottom of the priority order.) Since your game should be able to run with those. Hope that helps.

There is no MSAA for ENB, you have to decide if you want the special effects of ENB or hardware AA. You cannot have both. You can still get the colors etc. of ENB I should add. What you can do is either get a larger playing resolution, which will reduce jagged egdes in itself, but also consume more VRAM, and reduce performance. Or try out SMAA injectors. Alternatively you can disable the ENB features that disable hardware AA and use that. There are always going to be small things and bugs with textures and meshes... that is most likely not going to change anytime soon.

Duel Combat Realism and a Question
Aiyen replied to mightyusaid's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Just make sure you also get the optional arrow perk mod, or you will get one shot quite often by falmer.... really annoying. -
When I was looking for mine I made great use of this site https://www.prad.de/en/monitore/index2.html They do not cover ALL monitors, but some lines share the same panel, while they might be lacking in other stuff, like stands etc. But their reviews are almost entirely tech based, and they do back up their claims with data, as opposed to many monitor reviews which basically cook down to "I thought it looked nice". That said then I agree with the IPS panel. TN panels are only if you need 3d and/or super high refresh rates... which only really matter if you are playing FPS games professionally.

DROPPED Better Males (by Chris57 and FavoredSoul)

Think we should remain clear on what we are talking about... textures or meshes! ;) The dirty look is entirely down to texture. The real question is how much muscle mass you want your char to have. -
If you are planing on doing anything serious with photoshop then I would recommend looking even more on monitors... Just because it is an IPS panel does not mean that its color coverage is high enough. Most of the reviews I found of that monitor are basically just saying... "Oh look at the pretty colors and view angle".... which is what every IPS panel can do... but since most people come from TN panels or hell even old CRT´s then the colors will look crisper but not necessarily be close to full sRGB coverage. Here I ofc. assume that what you plan on doing require the sRGB color space to begin with. Since if you require something more professional then that monitor for sure aint going to cut it. Also if the monitor has support for at least HDMI 1.4 then it can do 4k....

Since you are on a budget then not bad. Only thing I would spend more on would either be a bit better GPU, or a better monitor.

So you think running about slaying dragons wont produce a body like that? ;P I jest! however remember that you can alter the arms size when making a new char... this can make your chars look quite whimpy and mage like as well. -
Skyrim Revisited and Lighting/Weather/ENB - Is It Possible?
Aiyen replied to Dread86's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Well guess the day was gonna come when that would come up. You are indeed correct! ;) Main line of thought back then was to make people stop doing anything ENB related though MO since most of the time it just does not work at all. So better to just have people new to modding not be all confused that ENB´s work differently then other mods. -
pack Weather and Lighting (by Smile44)

Why would Requiem do cell, and or image space edits ? ELFX would only conflict heavily with mods that add houses, or other objects to cells. Also sound mods. The enhancer conflicts with many things since it alters the image spaces, that many areas rely on. Now I do not have requiem in so cant test, but I would be surprised that the author of the mod also decided to make his mod incompatible with lighting overhauls by doing his own as well... one would think he had enough on his plate as it is! :) -
Any resolution issues would be apparent quickly... Since it is not a large resolution then it would be kinda unlikely that it causes more CTD´s. The only way I can think of where this would happen is if you had a large resolution relative to the amount of VRAM you have. However that resolution should not be an issue. About that rest someone else is going to have to chip in.

More cores are only useful if you are going to add a lot of extra effects on top like ENB etc. Skyrim itself does not require much in terms of raw power to peak out at 60 FPS. As Moragg says then more VRAM is mainly debated since the largest overhaul part of skyrim is the textures... and higher quality textures require more VRAM. However even 2Gb would get you really far, 3Gb and above and you could be sure that VRAM is no longer the limiting factor on your setup at all. The exception is if you are running at super high resolutions, then more is required... but then more cores are also required since effects start to become really costly. For future games then 780 would be the best bet.... or the AMD equivalent, both are nice cards.

Yeah 3Gb min if you plan on using it over the next few years as well. Any more then that is most likely not going to matter for gaming purposes.... other then you get bragging rights that your card have a higher value then someone else. The next generation consoles are mainly geared at better lighting effects, and hence the better GPU will be the optimal choice. Also VRAM is a funny fish to discuss.... I have plenty of times compared VRAM usage values with people who have cards with 3Gb+... They report they use MUCH more VRAM then I have in total on their games.... yet we both run the game with the same amount of textures in the same region, and the same resolution. Even when stress testing and just adding more and more until the games fail... then it tends to happen at around the same amount of textures anyways. Conclusion.... VRAM is nice to have... but as long as you have above the minimum requirement then the only thing you get from having more is bragging rights.

It would take me hours to descibe in detail how to get that... but long story short.. there are no simple "install a few mods and done" solutions to get all of that. I am currently using ELFX + ELE image spaces + CoT Weather Patch and my own Skylight ENB. It does mostly what you are asking, but might be a bit too bright for ya... since well after a while TOO dark dungeons and nights just gets frustrating/dull to look at. To quickly go over your requests. 1: This is kinda easy, since you just need a mod that provides unique image spaces for caves, while leaving houses etc alone. Then you can make them as dark as you want. 2: This is already done with the CoT Weather patch in a multitude of different ways. 3: Use an ENB to try to simulate this effect until you are happy. It can never be 100% since that would require redoing every interior cell. 4: It would almost always be compatible, since that mod adds unique new stuff to the game rather then editing vanilla entries. As for using other combinations then it will require varying amounts of tweaking on your part. There are no simple and easy to install full lighting overhauls for Skyrim. Mostly because we all got different ideas on how stuff should look.

Only the last file is read to memory. The meshes are linked to one file name and it is expected to be located in one location. If you have mulitple duplicates of the same file, then only the one with the highest priority becomes visible to the game. Hope that answers the question.

CTDs, Freezing, randomly, and anywhere.
Aiyen replied to DatsiK96's question in General Skyrim LE Support
What you are running into when using many 4k textures is a mix of hardware and software limit on how much data you can effectively move about and still have a working program. DirectX 9 was never made with the goal of doing stuff like that, hence nothing short of a new dx11 rendering engine is going to help out. In general this is the main issue for skyrim at this stage. People put too much stuff in and expect wonders from code that does what it was never designed to do in the first place. -
I always thought the size of the trees was good enough. The relative height is decent compared to other objects most of the time. It is a bit odd to see giant tree trunks but no super sized trees of the same size anywhere though. I did try bigger trees, but they where just too large imo... it just looked weird in the distance when you could really see the tree/mountain size clearly in the LOD. I guess in the more massive forested areas it would not hurt to have some taller trees inside the deepest parts, would probably add to the feeling that it is a forest that have been around for a while. That said then I like the look of the new ones... quite nice to have a few old branches in the mix.

243 is already outdated, we are at 244 now with extra optimizations... in general this is all that has been going on lately. Depending on your card then this might or might not cause issues. As for the general issue, then if no value helps no matter what, then try to reduce the general texture load. It might just be that you are asking too much of your rig.

CTDs, Freezing, randomly, and anywhere.
Aiyen replied to DatsiK96's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I only manually save... auto save is not reliable when using a modded skyrim. Yes it might be annoying etc. but there you have it. After a while it is just second nature to save before going into a cave, or leaving town. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Not every system can do this. Some does in fact lock up windows entirely! Can depend on video drivers etc. -
CTDs, Freezing, randomly, and anywhere.
Aiyen replied to DatsiK96's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If you followed SR and use MO, then you have the ability to quickly move the optimized vanilla textures to the bottom of your priority order, so they overwrite everything. Test your game with just these, and then see if it improves drastically. If it does then you still have memory issues, if it does not then you have load order issues, most likely related to having too much stuff on your mod list. -
First try to reduce the density (increase the value) via the iMinGrassSize parameter in the skyrim.ini under GRASS. This can provide really huge boosts to FPS.
-
Ah yeah, that and wet n cold also use it to simulate certain effects... that is true! Glad you figured it out! :) Should have remembered that hehe.
-
Okay that is just odd.... if DoF is set to false, and remove blur is set to true then you must have some other mod that applies the default DoF shader somehow. Only mod that comes to mind is dynavision however.... also some night vision altering mods will make use of the shader. Does this only happen with ENB enabled ?
-
Problem is that it depends on the entire rig, not just some general stats of certain components. You can have a beast graphics card, but then a discount Motherboard, and you would get massive bottlenecks due to that, which would prevent you from using certain values as effectively as the next guy with a godlike motherboard, and a less good graphics card. It is just a matter of trial and error until the amount of stuttering you experience is acceptable for your gameplay. With proper values you should only really experience stuttering etc. during transitions, and cell changes etc. If you get it all the time, then you clearly have entirely wrong values for your system!
