Well that as well! :) What you got cooking in that mod list of yours neo! You aint sharing the goodies I think! :p

Neo... The helgen intro is vanilla.. CoT weathers are not loaded until first weather transition after the starting cave... not sure how the live another life stuff works... But there are NO CoT weathers that have vanilla cloud textures assigned... a few might look the same but they are unique CoT textures. Unless both me and prod have missed something entirely... which is always an option ofc. :)

Why Elder Scrolls Online fails to Deliver (for me)
Aiyen replied to Uhuru's topic in General Game Discussion
Unless they massively screwed up then the fact that its an MMO and on their servers.. should mean that cheating is not possible. And in the odd cases that is is then the exploits should be close-able in a matter of hours. But D2 is a long way from any sort of MMO... in general then hack n slash games are only about the loot ... so no point in doing anything else in those games. It is just the ever eternal grind to satisfy peoples loot lust. MMO´s normally have at least some story, and questing to do.. which you can do in your own time. Some might require parties etc.. but there it is mostly also just going quick about it, since people who have done it just want to move on to the next. One can hope that if there is any cinematic stuff that everyone is forced to wait until everyone says "Im ready". In general unless you have friends to play with then there is always going to be some rushing involved since the people who might help you do not care about anything but moving on in the game. -
Make em jpg and use an image hosting service.... cant take long then unless you are on dial up :P

I must have been dreaming... but I could have sworn I gave the answer to you on this just a few days ago bro lol! :) No it is a vanilla texture replacer.. CoT uses its own textures. I believe it was removed from STEP for performance reasons actually, since if you ddsopt it etc.. then it kinda ruins the point of it.
-
AF really does depend on which textures you use, since it kinda affects those. So what is best for a STEP setup and what is best if you use fancy 2k stuff from various authors make a difference.

In general if at all possible go to a store that that has monitors setup so you can view them.... most share panel type and that is what really matters. Even between IPS there are different ones where some are somewhat better then others. Same for TN. Also about glossy or not glossy... this is a thing that is 50% personal preference, 50% "how does the room the monitor stands in look". If you have loads of sun light or another strong back light on the monitor it will get annoying.. if you do not then it might actually be better then matte surfaces. Edit: The ASUS one is not a bad choice at all. As I recall the ASUS budget ones got quite nice reviews for their price tag. Main downside was the amount of adjustablity I think.

SKYRIMLE Transparent and Refracting Icicle and Frost Atronach by Skysan4298
Aiyen replied to james4832's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Basically all testing of refracting textures/meshes come down to if the testers think the bugs associated (hold a torch in front) with it is worth it for STEP. If they think they are then they are most likely always going to have the superior look compared to a texture/mesh that does not have the feature. However they will also most likely not blend in nicely with the surroundings... but then again even the vanilla icicle and ice textures do not blend well with the surroundings imo... It would simply require a remesh of various regions to get a good look, and it would most likely cost quite a bit of stability and performance to do it. (Think SFO regular just for ice) -
Based on what Nearox says then in order to get parallax only then it should be enough to have enableeffect on and use original post processing, and then parallax... ofc. then the graphical mode needs to be enabled in enblocal.ini as well. Also when I test for overhead I do not run about, I simply stand in riverwood and look in the same direction and do a small screen pan to get the effective overhead. Running around causes too many variables for a reliable read, since everything from shadows, grass etc. to FoV will matter as well.

He just has to ask for it.

Depending on preset there is also a difference in the enbeffect.fx and other .fx files... in general the more massive they are the more performance they eat. And they are loaded even if their effects are not activated I think... would have to test that at some point. As I recall then the last test I made of v.168 and the later ones only showed a difference of about 1-4FPS when all was disabled properly. which is a decent and really unnoticeable overhead. You would have to go all the way back to pre v.119 to get like 1 FPS more I think it was.... so if you have an overhead of 5-10 FPS then something is not setup properly or perhaps it is the above.. I have not tested that but would not be surprised if it was the case. As for the parallax then obviously ENB needs to be active in order for it to implement its parallax fix. This is pretty obvious I would think. If you say that the useeffect is what is required then this would explain the main difference between the two I think.. or at least one of the main differences at any rate.

Defferedrendeirng activates or deactivates deffered rendering techniques... like SSAO etc. This is essentially if you only want color correction like SweetFX etc. AA, AF etc are not affected. The ENBlocal disable should disable everything including color correction, and leave the  vanilla post processing intact. AF is always done... if enabled it will overwrite the driver values you have set for this. Normally the difference between AF 8 and AF 16 is about 1 FPS on modern cards at high resolutions. UseEffect is a toggle to disable all ENB rendering and only use vanilla. I admit I am not sure about what the difference is between this and teh enblocal one but I assume it has something to do with how stuff is done internally in the .dll. Speedhack should always remain true unless you got clear issues you can relate back to it. Occlussion culling is afaik only a vital parameter for some of the more advanced water features like parallax. The reason it can cause bugs is due to not really working properly on the world map. Hope that helps a little bit.Â

SKYRIMLE Realistic Nights (by MountainFisherman)
Aiyen replied to Scafremon's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Look at you getting all technical root! :D But you are right, need info about any ENB, and/or weather. If it is an ENB with Time of Day enabled then it most likely have some values that cause the dawn dusk transitions to explode. But could also just be that the image spaces for the given weather has some really bad values at its dawn and dusk. -
ENB Boost and AMD R9 series - GPU load
Aiyen replied to Violator's question in Post-Processing Support
Most GPU´s got about 3 different levels of use. Low medium and high. There are not smooth transition.. once you hit the next level it will report usage as the next step. Essentially these are the various steps where the clock speed of the GPU and memory gets increased to accommodate more load. As long as the temperatures do not keep rising and rising then you got nothing to worry about. The cooling system should be designed to maintain even at peak performance for a long time. -
Which ENB are you using and why?
Aiyen replied to DoYouEvenModBro's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Are you using any mod that adds occlusion culling ? Might be what is messing up somewhat. -
Skyrim not using any VRAM (also crashes past Riverwood)
Aiyen replied to theausus's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The temperature is just what the driver reports... which is to be read correctly. It is essentially based on load. If the GPU runs at this given load ALL time time then eventually the temperature will reach that. It is not real time actual temperatures. For that you will need a probe and place it on chip or really close to it.. which is not really possible on GPU´s without custom fit cooling solutions. However if you ever closely watch how it jumps during various load amounts then you will see it makes no sense at all. Stuff inside a Computer does not go from idle temperatures to like 92C over the span of a few seconds or even minutes.. unless it is shorting out in which case you already reached the point of no return and something else (Almost certainly a resistor) on the card most likely is going to burst into charcoal. But yeah something is wrong in this case.. SPM is not getting all the info it needs. Depending on the vendor of the card you most likely have access to some monitor software from that company that should work. -
Added a short description about what we wish with this thread to the OP. Hope this will help clear up things and keep the technical info coming! There is always the option for making other threads for more subjective stuff! On that note, then I guess now that Boris is hopefully not releasing new ENB stuff for the next day or two I can get more indepth with this... so far I still cant go beyond ugrids 7 on my modded list, at least not without lowering the texture resolution. Also to yuser: It is quite normal that your FPS would get lower the longer a battle goes on if you have stuff like EBT in. Also sound normal that heavily detailed areas will kill the FPS. The more stuff that needs rendering at once.. the more the FPS takes a hit!
-
You are not the first to think that... but well like riding a bike I guess. :)
-
Yeah he is correct in that... his preset does not use the vanilla image spaces at all, hence he had to make some changes to compensate. Sort of like the weather patch for CoT... As for the rain.. then perhaps the person who made the video does not have the required texture installed... or one that does not display the effect properly.

Skyrim not using any VRAM (also crashes past Riverwood)
Aiyen replied to theausus's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Post your full mod list in spoiler tags as well please. AS well as full system specs etc. Also if you are using any post processing software or stuff like hialgo boost etc etc. need more info! :) -
Just remember that it is not for CoT .. it is for vanilla weathers! :)
-
Was just about to say the same Ess! :) This is not a scientific debate... it is simply... post your mod list, settings etc. and tell your experience. The more data the better.... What we are doing here is helping the people who know how this stuff actually work get the info they need to make it better. Fact is that so far then overwhelming majority seems to have positive outcomes with their systems and mod lists. That it aint going to work for all is not a surprise. Even ENB wont work on ALL systems due to a multitude of reasons. It is just the sad fact of PC development... you cant develop something and expect it to work on EVERY possible system. And in this case we add in for every possible mod list + settings!
-
It is not tried to ANY preset.. it is tied to ENB binary versions... you can get your old v.108 preset look the same on newer binary versions as well... will just require quite a bit of tweaking on your part.

I am at version 1.8.2 Edit: Now I just thought I would update now!... Run into some math trouble in the current version.... bad math gotta hate it.
-
Always try it out on your own end! Videos do have a certain amount of color degradation due to compression changes etc. But any who has been over at enbdev galleries from time to time will know the stuff. Worth checking out!
