Because it does not install correctly if you use NMM to install it. That archive was made for being installed manually, or via Bash. Wasn't really inclined to make a NMM installer for such a simple mod. Both contain the same files. I did the same thing for Enhanced Projectile Soul Trap, if you remember.

DROPPED Closer Quivers and Longer Arrows (by EvilDeadAsh34)
WilliamImm replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
With a new update to the mod released, I'm going to update the Bash wizard along with hit. The most important change, however, will be that the autodetection for mods (NOT DLCs) will be removed, and replaced with a "choose which mods you have installed" screen instead. Found the community mod detection to be a bit fiddly, and also caused a major difference from Schwinni's installer. -
rootsrat, you just reminded me to update that disease descriptions Been dwarfed in popularity when compared to my other mods (especially Even Better Quest Objectives). Still, made for immersion, probably good enough for STEP, even though it's yet another ESP (or two).

SKYRIMLE Realistic Teeth ( by Anton0028 and Brumbek)
WilliamImm replied to DCS78's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
On second thought, Realistic Teeth might not be such a hot idea after all. The fact that you don't pay much attention to character's teeth (if at all), not seeming to find the right balance for teeth color, overwriting a lot of facegeom meshes (potentially creating compatibility issues), and what might be most important for some people - it's very very big. Averaging around 1.85 GB when unpacked. Space that would be better spent with a big texture pack or something. In retrospect, this would not be a good mod for STEP. The only reasons why I would have focused on this in the first place are because of the co-author (Brumbek), and that it marketed itself as a immersion mod. But, at least I can say I did another Bash wizard... -
As you may have noticed if you checked the wiki history, I've uploaded some new patches, two of which are for STEP mods (the other two are for mods in Neovalen's guide). The four patches were for (sorted by name): Alternate Start - Live Another Life, Kryptolyr's Non-Essental Children, Persid's Realistic Room Rental, and The Paarthurax Dilemma. Paar's patch is the most important one, as without it, it could potentially break the Paarathurax quest.

Yeah, there are issues with the mod. While it is a cool idea, it has been made with TESSnip, and the author isn't going to upload a fixed version any time soon. If I wanted to, I could make a fixed version myself using the CK and TES5Edit, but not really tempted to do so myself unless there is high demand for such. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2

SKYRIMLE Realistic Teeth ( by Anton0028 and Brumbek)
WilliamImm replied to DCS78's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Going to bump this thread. The mod has been updated to 1.11 - and with it, a Consistant Older People patch (on the page for Consistant Older People, but it's there). According to the changelog, the mod now includes a more yellow version of the teeth, which Brumbek recommends for lore purists, and the one that I recommend for STEP. And, female vampire fangs are included. So, with this mod, the Female Vampire Fangs mod is redundant if used together with Realistic Teeth. That being said, I have made a quick and simple Wrye Bash wizard for the mod, that I'm going to bring up with the author. -
Some mods to bring to attention: Dual Sheath Redux looks to be very, very good - simple in premise, but it just works. As it was tested during development by STEP members, I'd say it's a good inclusion. However, this does mean that either XP32's skeleton or one of the Custom Skeleton Replacers (Basic 13 or 14 looks good for STEP) will have to be included as well, and since neither have versions for the Slightly Reduced Force version of Realistic Ragdolls, that will have be switched to another version of the mod (probally the Realistic version).. Worth the work to set up, however. Webs - simple name, really good execution. Looks much better than ISW when compared - and since all the webs are now covered, only thing to really compare now are the spider egg textures. Dawnguard Rune Weapons FXS Replacer - pretty much a no-brainer to me, only adds another ESP. Only needs compaision screenshots. Deadly Serious Shrouded Armor or Proper Dark Brotherhood Armor retex - which is better, if any? Both appear to replace the same armor. Diverse Priests - along the same lines as other STEP mods, and would be a good canidate for further testing. Think To Yourself Messages - good for immersion. Elys's ALT-F4 plugin for SKSE - appears to work for 1.9, and also allows keyboard media keys to be used (like to change the volume). Realistic Teeth - Consisitant Older People already has a compatiblity version for it, and it is made by Brumbek after all. Also, I've quickly created a wizard for the mod, so that's taken care of. Skyrim Improved Puddles - Doesn't appear to conflict with anything, and it's made by a STEP member and Brumbek (again) - worth looking at as well. Yea, quite a long list, but there were plenty of gems that didn't really get looked at.

Actually, I ran SUM with this mod and ReProccer, and it appeared to work fine. Don't know why others are having problems with it. -
DROPPED Mystery Modders Shrines HD (by Mystery Modder)
WilliamImm replied to Jorus's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I agree with the current consensus to drop Golden God Shrines. Shrines HD looks to be the best bet for replacing the shrines. -

But that just takes one problem and replaces it with another - that problem being, it's complety random as to what character gets what, and it dosen't really seem to distinguish between characters. Additionally, it replaces the skeleton for affected NPCs, which will undo any changes made by - well, Dual Sheath Redux, BBP, and most importantly, Realistic Ragdolls. Needs some major work before it's at the same level as Automatic Variants. EDIT: Dosen't appear to overwrite BBP, but that's still a minor thing as compared to Realistic Ragdolls... -

ACCEPTED Dawnguard Rune Weapons FXS Replacer (Schwinni)
WilliamImm replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The ESP is for changing the rune weapon shaders from the default glow to the standard effect shader (abiet golden). -

No, that was a intentional change in Thieves Guild Requirements. @Jorus - About weapon mods - I did suggest JaySuS, SkyRe, and the Immersive Compilations originally to Neovalen, because if those are done first, then there won't be constant requests to do compatibility patches for those mods. Immersive Weapons is of unequal quality, yes, but it is also one of the most popular weapon mods out there, and there will eventually be requests for compatility with that mod at some point. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
WilliamImm replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
There was a reason why I didn't make a Even Better Quest Objectives patch for Theives Guild Requirements, even through there is a single conflict with that. The only conflicting quest is MG202 - Even Better Quest Objectives changes the objective to "Talk to Brynjolf in Riften". Thieves Guild Requirements changes the objective to "Ask around Riften to see if anyone knows Esbern.". Why didn't I make a compatibility patch for it? This was intentional by part of the author: -

I think I've found a alternate mean to contact JaySuS, so I'll PM you about it on the Nexus. Good luck with the permissions. -
Discussion thread: Dawnguard Rune Weapons FXS Replacer by Schwinni Wiki Link Changes the Dawnguard rune weapons to use a golden version of the default enchantment shader, and not the default golden glow (which can be quite bright in places). Yes, this means Enchantment Effect Replacer will be applied to the weapons if it is installed. I wouldn't have known of this mod at all, had I not worked with the author at some point. Consists of an ESP and a non-conflicting texture file. ESP only modifies two Dawnguard records (DLC1RuneHammerVisualEffect and DLC1DawnguardRuneAxeIncrementKills) and adds a new golden shader. Only possible conflicts are with anything that modifies the two mentioned records, and I don't think anything in STEP modifies these records off the top of my head. Overall, this looks to be a pretty obvious addition to STEP, unless screenshots prove otherwise. Plus, gives the work a little more exposure. What is needed from Mod Testers: A check for any conflicts with a baseline STEP installation. If possible, a comparision screenshot with the mod and without.Accepted for v2.2.5--Thanks to Eliian for the screens and to WiliamImm for creating the mod page (I am noticing a pattern)

Neovalen - did you get my messages about Dual Sheath? I offered to make a BAIN installer for you, and reminded you of permissions on certain weapon/armor mods. -

I meant in the BOSS Userlist Manger, not in the actual game. Thought you'd understand that. Anyway, my suggestion is just to make the JaySuS-compatible meshes, but say if that JaySuS were to suddenly come back to the site and demand that the meshes be taken down for whatever reason, you will comply. Also, the original Wot3E is free for anyone to modify, so you don't need to ask MoS if you are just modifying the original meshes for the mod. -

I placed Dual Steath Redux right after DSpSoB.esp, and the patch at the bottom of the load order. -

Yea, I'm going towards B too. It's a fairly likely scenario - someone will decide that they didn't really fin the mod that appealing, or removed it some some other reason, only to change their mind and add it back. Giving some messages in the Papyrus log is better than it not working at all when the scenario happens. And believe me, it will happen at some point. -
DROPPED Better Book Names (by Kevkas)
WilliamImm replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I've actually made a BCF for this new version - should be able to upload it here when I get back home. -
Well... it's possible for me to make a "STEP Special Sauce" with the main file and the patches for The Choice is Yours and Better Book Names. At this point, I'm really wishing that the Skyrim Wrye Bash had as much bash patching functionality as the Oblivion version did - would reduce number of ESPs at load.

Internet reviewer and comedian Stuart Ashen (who I avidly follow) is starting a crowdfund (think Kickstarter) for a feature-length film. Most of it is funded arleady, through there's still more to chip in before the 17 days are up. I'm defintly funding this - mainly because I am a fan of his videos - through if anyone else wants to fund, go right ahead.
