  1. Hi everybody, I'm posting here a bit late considering I didn't see there was an introduction thread, but better late than never I suppose :p I enjoy reading all the information and advice that the STEP guides and the STEP forum users provide, so I felt that maybe I could hopefully contribute a little something too, and I registered. You guys don't seem to have that many users active here compared to all the stuff you're providing the community with, which is a shame.
  2. The 770 is a renamed and slightly updated 680 so it probably would not be a massive upgrade coming from what you have. With a 780 you would definitely see a big improvement but it would also be a downgrade V-Ram wise since they're only available in 3 gb versions. But to be honest I don't see why you're not running an ENB already, if you use a relatively lightweight preset with no DOF (you can use Dynavision) and SSAO disabled, I assume you would probably be close to the framerates you're shooting for... If that's still too taxing there's always all the SweetFX based presets like I Can't Believe It's Not ENB 2 which seems to look really good for the small performance impact it has.
  3. Have to say thanks to you guys, dreadflopp, nicopad and Garfink, both this thread and the pack are very interesting reads ;)
  4. Pretty sure running running fUpdateBudgetMS=800.0 and fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800.0 isn't recommended, see this post by a bethesda dev : https://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1487930-getting-a-lot-of-script-lag-going-over-10000-ms-sometimes/?do=findComment&comment=23340131
  5. He doesn't mention it, but the mod actually has a MCM menu as well. It did pop correctly with my merge and seemed to work without issues.
  6. I merged it with the famous merge script (in my clothing/armor esp, but whatever...) and it seemed to run as advertised. Didn't even try the provided esp to be honest.
  7. Trainwiz has created various... train related mods, such as this one, which is a shout that makes trains fall from the sky : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=83630315&searchtext= I think it's fair to say he is not running for the "most lore-friendly mod of the year" award :p
  8. Did anybody who has framerate issues with this mod try lowering their blocklevel settings ? I get up to 10 more fps (from about 28-35 to around 35-42 most of the time) using fBlockLevel1Distance=33000 and fBlockLevel0Distance=25000 for instance (or fBlockLevel1Distance=40000 and fBlockLevel0Distance=20000, about the same) than with the default ultra settings (fBlockLevel1Distance=70000 and fBlockLevel0Distance=35000). The visual difference is noticeable, but it still looks a hundred times better than vanilla at fBlockLevel1Distance=70000 and fBlockLevel0Distance=35000. (tested all of this above Solitude Docks, obviously looking towards the plains/mountains, didn't take screenshots or anything, but if someone is really interested in that, I could take some...)
  9. very helpful piece of information there, thanks keithinhanoi. also that ENB maker could be Kyokushinoyama, I just checked and his presets come with compression disabled.
  10. I assume this a much more subtle interpretation of what this mod does =) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/6594/?
  11. I am (more accurately, was) using Project ENB and I didn't see any graphics difference between the recommended 0.221 dll and 0.252 either (same fps wise, but I didn't check in detail), so I think all of bronze's presets might work fine with 0.252, even though they're not officially supported.
  12. Are you sure you didn't make a typo at "GTX780 4gb" ? For all I know, these cards only exist in 3GB for now.
