  1. Well, I was somewhat confused by that actually, but my knowledge is also being confused as well, lol. I didn't know they were using that scheme. I am fully aware that they are backward compatible. But when I saw Samsung list there device as SaTA III, I assumed they meant SATA 3. So thank you for correcting my misinformation.
  2. Boris updated the TES binaries for anyone interested. Here's is comment from the news page: 10 august 2014 Published ENBSeries 0.261 for TES Skyrim. Added opacity parameters for volumetric fog (by request). Fixed bug with flickering ambient occlusion, image based lighting and subsurface scattering when using camera fly mode console command at some conditions. Clouds are not made in this version yet.
  3. Hey thanks for those tidbits, I'll give them a look at. I have always been a plextor fan, I have always been able to rely on them w/o regret. But, I'll give them a look at today, ain't nothing wrong with saving some bucks w/o having to sacrifice performance. But if what generalmx is true, than I don't think I'll be going that route. Anyone else able to relate to what generalmx is saying? I'll do my own research on it, but would be nice if anyone has working experience with them. EDIT: Well after doing some brief looking, I think I am going to stick with the plextor's, I can pick them up for only $20 more than those samsung's, $149. The samsungs are a sata 3, plextor sata 6. The plextor offers a 5 year warranty, samsung offers 3. The specs that each company posts, are close, plextor has a higher random read/write, the samsung only beats out the plextor in sequential write speed, 460mb compared to 520mb. The sequential read is the same for both, 540mb. However, samsung doesn't make it known what there dram cache size is. The plextor has a 512mb ddr3 cache size, considering the specs that samsung is listing, I would have to think it's something close to the plextor. Also, that benchmark from tomshardware listed the m6s, which is slower than the m5pro, from what I am reading, the m6 series claims to be more efficient than the m5 series by what looks like software boosting or something, idk, cause the specs that plextor states is that the m5 series is not only cheaper but faster.
  4. Lol, this made me laugh, "unitalicized", lol, nice choice :) And "italicize" sounds like some sort of weird exercise workout lol :p OK, I'm sorry, I am letting it go now.....walking away.
  5. Agreed, love my saberkitty, but I hate the conflicts that aisuite creates. Which imo is nothing more than a convenient way to adjust something w/o going into the bios and doing, in which, going through bios is the safest bet to begin with. The monitor's are nice, and I liked the thermal radar, but that was only thing I was really using it for. I did all of my adjustments for OC through bios cause of the better control, there OC profile utility in aisuite was a burden, windows would always go retarded anytime I tried to make adjustments through it. So yeah, point, forget about those utilities, they more often than not, wind up being more of a problem than they are worth, and needless to say, aisuite isn't the only utility that gives problems with "completely" uninstalling it.
  6. Yeah, I had to uninstall asus suite cause of it always giving me a "warning" that would not just warn me, but cut the performance of my gpu by alot. Worst of all, the only way to get the performance back, was to reboot the pc. It took skyrim for me to know what this was about, cause it always did the same crap for borderlands 2 whenever I injected smaa. And asus suite was a pain in the arse to get completely off my system.
  7. That is a good point, I'll have to keep that in mind, tyvm.
  8. Oh, I was right, well good to know (no, I am not trying to rub it in or anything :) ). Yeah performance monitor works nice I like it and usually stick to that for recording performance statistics for skyrim.
  9. Oh, well glad to hear you solved it, congrats, and happy modding :) Yeah, my only interest was space saving, on the MO mod list, make it easier to navigate around in it, and possibly speed up load time for MO, maybe. But I have not done this yet, still deciding if I really want to do it, and if I do, what texture mods I have that I plan on keeping for probably...ever, and should be put in it.
  10. Yeah, sorry if I made it sound like I was confronting you negatively about that link, was not my intention, also I didn't put it together that you were just trying to show me a download link, lol, my bad, totally flew over my he.... I mean, yeah download links were not there yup, huh, I knew that was significant, :p. I'll check that MyDefrag out though, cause it isn't the first time I have had it positively referred to me. And would be a good time to try it, cause I just un-installed diskeeper today, and went back to using windows and defraggler side by side. But if this winds up being as good as I am told then, I am down for "One defragmenter to rule them all", lol. Ughh, man don't get me dreaming of ssd's man, lol, it's coming, it's coming darn it. I have been patiently waiting for that addition to my recently built pc, that I had to cut out of the initial build cause of needing to cut some corners budget wise. The cpu, psu, one more gpu were put on the back burner, at the beginning with intent to grab later. The ssd's, I thought I had enough for but didn't, so had to put them on the future plans list. So far I have acquired the psu I wanted but is not installed right now as it would be over kill, and now I am about two paychecks away from having the extra money for the ssd's, which was a toss up between the gpu for crossfire or the ssd's. So they are coming, finally. I'll have two plextor px-256m5pro extreme series ssd's, YAYYY, lol.
  11. I had this problem occur in STEP 2.2.8, I have no idea what so ever, what got rid of it. The last thing I remember when troubleshooting it, was that right before it would start to go nuts, for me was around 10 seconds into the cart ride after being able to look around. I noticed that Hadvar poofed from the cart just split second before flipping around. I could never figure it out, I wound up just creating a save using "coc" at the main menu. But I had an epiphany much, much later into that save. I was walking back up that road out of Helgen the cart ride originates from, and there I saw Hadvar, half way stuck in the ground, in a position that looked like he was sitting with his hands in front of him, like being a carriage driver. I thought this odd, and then my mind went back into the cart flipping and Hadvar poofing, and thought they might be related. Only to of course, find out that, that is a normal vanilla problem when you use coc at the main screen. But, nonetheless, before I found this out, I went and started a new game the right way, several times, and each time I did, the cart ride was not a problem, just as much for me right now with my current setup. So, point is, lol, that in response to the idea that mods that alter physics of npc's seems like a very plausible suggestion, for me, basing it off of what I saw when this happened to me, and Hadvar always disappearing right before it happens. Just my two cents.
  12. Really? I could of sworn that would not work w/o graphics turned on. Well, you prolly no more than me about it, lol.
  13. f4 is working, it does what it implies, frees vram. f4 isn't supposed to show you anything. shift+enter does indeed show you the gui (graphical user interface), BUT, you have to have enb graphics turned on. If you followed STEP exclusively, then that is turned off and you are running enboost only. You have to set the option UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false in the enblocal.ini in order to use enb graphics, but note that if you do not have an enb preset setup, the default graphics will make things look funny, mostly the blurry gray look on-screen.
  14. Right you are, about the need. It really boils down to how far the user him/her self is willing to go and maintain the hdd. Tbh, the real time defragger I got, for me, isn't really a must have, it just winds up being more convenient. From my experience I have found the windows defragger to do it's job fine in regards to defragging a drive, nothing more nothing less. But it really needs to monitored often, cause if for whatever reason windows defrag stops (which I have had happen) or begins to decrease in it's ability to defrag the drive (which to I have had happen) completely, it will run away and get to the point where it can not fully defrag the drive. Windows from my experience typically has a hard time defragging large files with large amounts of fragmentation, and this more often than not becomes the root of windows defrag getting worse at it's job over time, especially large drives like yours and mine. But if you keep track of it like you are now, if and when this happens you can address it before it becomes a problem. And which that is what the "real" trade off from using a defragger other than windows is. But before I used diskeeper I just went solely on using windows and defraggler, windows was doing it job, and defraggler I only used to monitor information and statistics about my drive visually, and on occasion defrag a file/s that windows left behind. And now that I am sitting here typing this, and it's on mind, along with seeing points with the way of how I use my pc, getting in the way, just shelving diskeeper, and going back to that old chestnut.
  15. Ok, think I get it now, tyvm! I have alot of texture only mods that are mostly isolated in the middle of my install order that I think this could help relieve the clutter I have, and also, leads to another question of sorts I guess, this would/might help reduce the amount of time it takes MO to read and populate the mod list when I launch or refresh it, no? Not when I load into skyrim, but when I load up MO itself. Side note, that name is creative enough for me :)
  16. @Aiyen, or anyone who might know I suppose. Could you describe a bit more specifically on how to create a large all in one texture folder? I am thinking that I would Just create a folder dubbed as such that would populate in the mods section (MO left pane), and then create a subfolder's that mimic the data folder of skyrim for there proper placement, no? After reading that, it sounds like a really swell idea that I am interested in.
  17. Interesting read phazer. However, I STRONGLY disagree with that person's findings and recommendations about defragmenting programs. First, let me state the obvious, his test pc, even for 2013, is a freaking TOASTER. And he decided to test advanced programs that clearly state that you will see better performance on large capacity drives, using an 80 gig drive?!!?! That totally skews the results. Furthermore, he makes his statement about free space extents, which with professional defraggers like diskeeper and perfectdisk, are created more heavily, but more importantly small in average size for a reason. They are there to provide wiggle room for programs/files that have tendencies to bloat/increase in time. Like on my drive for instance, I have a total of 31,164 free space extents, but it comes in the form of an average extent size of 15.38 megabyte's! The largest extent is 246.83 gigabyte's, that's more than half of the free space left on my drive, 468.02 gigabyte's. The theory behind this is, that if the program creates small free space extents after a certain known file/s that continuously increase, it will eliminate some if not most of the need to keep defragging those file/s everytime they increase. Idk, I am no guru on the subject, but I know enough to know, that, that is terribly misleading. Just my two cents about the subject.
  18. From my readings and repeatitive tests, I am 99.99% sure that statement to be wrong. ReduceSystemMemoryUsage, according to Boris means that memory manager is set. For me, this is false, which means that enb is not taking direct control of memory function. However with ExpandSystemMemory64 as true, enb is defragmenting my memory, if both the options are on together, ExpandSytemMemory64 is practically rendered useless. So it is my firm belief that in order for enb to use that one option correctly, indicating video memory size still becomes relevant. But, nonetheless I am ready to stand corrected if someone presents a better understanding.
  19. Sorry about posting here, I wasn't sure when I did, I looked at the post that had associated links for MO, and wasn't sure, I actually didn't even consider the bug tracker being the appropriate place. Regardless, I am now going to the link in your post to put it where it belongs, unless there is already a post about it. Also, yes I did finally make it through the guide again to see that there wasn't any need for extraction to hide a file. But your thoughts, like-wise, believe there can be significant use for it, I have a couple mods (personal addition) that I needed to be left extracted, so I could utilize the hide feature. Luckily the mods were relatively small, so I am pretty sure that there shouldn't be any significant difference.
  20. I would like to see a capability of MO being able to use the "Hide" feature on UN-extracted bsa's. Ok, I mind tells me this should be possible of sorts, since MO can already look inside and un-extracted bsa and report conflicts to the user. Seeing how there mods in the STEPguide stating tho the user to "Hide" certain files. If you are one of those users who has a hdd and could benefit performance wise from using bsa instead of loose files, you would run into the problem of being restricted from that feature. Granted I have not actually verified if any of the mods in STEP that suggest hiding, are mods that come bsa packaged, as I am still going through it myself atm. But, even if not, I think that having this feature, if possible, would be extremely beneficial. So, can it be done? Regards, Slink Edit/Update: Ok, finally posted the topic at bug tracker, I meant to the other day when I said I was going to, but got side-tracked. So, it's where it belongs.
  21. Ok, thanks, I'll give that a shot. I wondered if it was something like that, most of the mods I had installed with a previous version, if I clicked reinstall, a message would pop up saying it couldn't be done that way for mods installed with a previous version of MO. But that message never appeared for that mod, only one so far.
  22. Hey, not sure what is going on here. I am currently running through my install list, and I am looking for mods that have BSA's, and if I installed the mod by extracting the bsa, I am reinstalling it to use the bsa where I can. Seems simple said and has been up untill I get to Helgen Reborn, MO wants to extract the BSA no matter what I try. I have been just using the context menu after right clicking the mod and clicking reinstall. I get up to Helgen Reborn, and it starts extracting it after I set the data dir, so I then go to the download tab and find the file and click install, same thing, and lastly I removed it and then went to the download tab and hit install, again same thing. What I am missing here? Helgen Reborn is a rather large file when extracted, so I feel like this one out of all the mods I have is where my HDD is going to see a difference, so I would like to get it to NOT extract it. My settings say right now that BSA Extractor is not enabled. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks, Slink EDIT: Found a work around for now. I went to my downloads directory on my HDD and then extracted the archive and copied and pasted the three files; the bsa, esp and a readme into the mod folder for Helgen Reborn, then deleted the files that where extracted from the bsa by MO and now I have the BSA listed in my archives tab.
  23. Would there be an issue like this if the bash tags are not properly set or missing altogether? Core patch is supposed to have stats and names I think. Is there any bash tags needed for the contentaddon? Just a thought.
  24. Just wanted to jump in out of the blue, like that guy from Kids in the Hall "Brain Candy", and he walks in as the scientist are having a small celebration with there success in the lab, he walks in smiling and cheering, they look at him and say "who are you?". He replies, "Just a guy" and slowly turns and walks away, lol. Anyways, sorry, just wanted to say Aiyen, man I didn't even figure about factoring in skyrim's normal apt for ctd's at any given moment. That whole spiel I went on about diskeeper, and today I did in fact get a random phantom ctd totally out of the blue on my wife's pc. So yeah, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised if I factor in that fact about skyrim. Just wanted to say that. Sorry OP, I am "Just a guy"...walks away slowly. :)
  25. Very good looking vanilla replacers you found. And the idea that they are built for vanilla is perfect. And imo from your screens, it looks just as good as mature skins. And if you find a way to get rid of that shininess, it will look even better.
