  1. So if I am reading this right, there isn't any known incompatibilism with STEP mods in it's current form, correct? I would really like to try this mod, been looking for a decent children mod to replace those nasty boring children's that run around wanting to call me daddy, ugly wretched creatures, begone with you! Ahem, so, is this good with STEP?
  2. Just gonna throw my two-cents in here with my experience that you are having with freezing at the character creation. I had to install the racemenu pre-cache killer to get past this. If you don't wanna do that, to be honest, since the beginning cart ride is so performance heavy, especially when modded. Just wait till you get past Helgen to begin loading mods in to your save. Is so much easier that way. And if you don't like the crap character creation you had to use, when you do load in the mods and everything is gravy, just go into an interior (smaller than better) and then use the showracemenu command to recreate the character you want with the fancy charater enhancing mods we like to use. Thats my two-cents anyways, hope it helps. Regards, Slink
  3. Oh wow, that is a huge chunk of my precious vram that is gobbled up like candy lol. Knowing that actually changes alot for me, thanks for that. So, yeah, I am definitely going to use your idea there with the male bodies. And make a better decision of female bodies. I also saw that I had installed caliente's using the ultra res option, which I should never have even applied with this setup to begin with. And the other female tex's are at high resolution as well, so I need to change that. So what ddsopt constraint are you using for vanilla's and mods. I used for the mods the high constraint except for exterior texture and color maps, and bodies I used 1k. I do not remember what I used for the vanillas, but I am pretty sure the res was 2k, so I want to change that as well I think. So, in theory, if I changed all of that to a 1k constraint, and went after lighter version females, I would have a pretty significant reduction in vram, no? Thanks again for your help. Slink
  4. ok that makes sense, I did ddsopt everything that was listed in the guide, except I missed one mod think it was skyrim performance plus. I used mostly 2k res for all constraints, mods and vanilla's. So maybe thats what it is, cause the game does act like it is running out of vram often, but the symptoms listed in the trouble shooting weren't exactly like what I was dealing with. So I thought I needed to seek else where. So sounds like I need to RESopt my DDSopt, hehe :) and use 1k, definetly for outside, cause that is where it hurts, interiors are just about always solid performance 60 fps and no probs. And I have been noticing that things get a lil hurtful when I get a lot of action or 4 or more npc's in the cell doing things. I knew I should of went with a lesser res, man, but I had to try. So, also you say go check out my other body tex mods and check for lower res, if not ddsopt them to lower, right? I pretty sure I could handle that, prolly should just do it anyway, couldn't hurt, no? Ok, anyway thanks a bunch for your input appreciate it. Slink
  5. Ummm, good questions, but no I don't have a proxy or vpn. I use google chrome to browse the nexus. I forgot I posted this, sorry. But I was just downloading and installing mods, nothing fancy, the problem arised when I trying to have MO download a mod, saw it wouldn't download at all, so I tried canceling it and then MO froze, so I had to end task it, and then when I restarted MO, I went ahead to try and re-download the file (I clicked the download link from nexus again), it popped up and did the same thing, but know I noticed that I had two of these files still trying to download, so I canceled them both which worked this time without a freeze, and those errors popped up. And then after that nothing, I activated the download link again, and it downloaded like there was never an issue. Don't know if that was helpful enough, but it's what I can recall right now. I haven't had those errors come up at me at all since. Maybe it was some sort of fluke?
  6. Hello, would appreciate a hand with sorting out this game freezing I am having. So I enabled papyrus logging to help me out, and papyrus script is blowing up with this line: [07/23/2014 - 12:21:03AM] Warning: Property DLC1VampireBeastRace on script zbloodnpc attached to Active effect 2 on (0004150A) cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property Now I know that zblobdnpc is a name used in a handful of Enhanced Blood pex files, but I don't know much more than that. Now this time it froze here when I was coming up towards the companions as they battle a giant during the first time you meet them. This is the full papyrus log:Here is my current load order: Also, I at the moment have enboost pulled out, as it is causing some strange issues with game, increased vram use and lots of microstutter. With STEP recommended enb settings.I appreciate any advice offered. Thanks,Slink Edit: Oh and I put "random" cause this is a recurring problem that happens at different places and times.
  7. That was a good idea, and I was just about to start doing that till I saw EssArrBee's post. He is correct about that method. I could not see this listed anywhere in the guide, might have over looked it. But I would think this is worth noting in the guide. So thanks for the help you two, appreciate it. Regards, Slink
  8. yeah I am seeing this too. anything I type in the search box comes back with nothing.
  9. Hello, was wondering if it was possible to do that at all. Was just thinking about making categories just like the STEP mod table categories. Except some of the category names would need to be added. Could this be done? I have been looking back over the MO guide page and the advanced, but not seeing anything close. I am assuming no, atleast by any convenient means.
  10. These errors popped up and idk what for. MO still seems to be functioning and what not. 11. I figured it out I think. I had "force enable game files" un-checked in settings/workaround. After enabling this feature, skyrim.esm and update.esm or grayed out and enabled. So this is a much better fix.
  12. Ok, I feel like this has probably come up already, but I couldn't find a topic for it. But every time I load MO skyrim.esm gets un-checked in the plugin order. If I run a program like LOOT and sort, I get the same results. If I go to the plugin list, check skyrim.esm, and then switch to another tab i.e. archives, then go back to the plugin tab again, it is again un-checked. The only fix I have at this point is to lock the entire load order in the plugin tab. Any thoughts on this?
  13. which is where? I am trying to search for it and coming up short. EDIT: What I have found so far is nothing more than what I have already read, mainly the TES5 CK wiki page that gives instructions on how to clean the masters and in what order. Already knew that, did that and LOOT still says there are 6 dirty edits. So what new information are you pointing to? EDIT2: Thank you, cleaning it twice was the issue.
  14. Yeah, the only thing I can figure is that it's because I haven't installed the latest update of 3.0.32 which was done in May I think. Or TES5 hasn't been updated to handle those 6 files yet. Or it's a false positive maybe? Another note, I really hate the idea of LOOT only working with crappy IE. But my question is, if I enable it, let it update, then disable it, should it be ok after that? Because you say that even though I have it disabled, it IS still present. So if I am understanding right, the actuall problem is the fact that my IE is not up to date, which I know it isn't because I hide all the IE updates when they pop up. Correct? Or will I have to keep it enabled?
  15. Okay, now I see, it's just a reflection of the data folder relevant to the game, in this case the DLC is there. So from looking at your description of the left pane, I see how the load order needs to be. Thank you, I don't understand the purpose of it fully but I all I need to know as far I am concerned is how it needs to look so it works. But you have provided me with the information I required, thanks again, marking as solved. Regards, Slinky
  16. Geez, I'm sorry I wanted to mark this as solved, but I still don't understand what MO is doing. I re-installed MO 1.2.9 fresh with the installer package. I have not installed or downloaded anything, the downloads and mods folder is empty. And MO keeps populating in the left pane three supposed mods, with the names of the three DLC's. The modlist file shows this: # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer.*Dawnguard*Dragonborn*HearthFiresI can not delete those three lines as MO just re-writes them. I have no idea where it's finding these. Right now the only thing MO should be looking at is what is in my Data folder, which the bsa's for the DLC's are not even present atm. It won't let me do anything with them in the left pane, no right-click context menu, no doubling clicking them, nothing. What are they, where are they? If I go ahead and add the DDSopt files I have created, it still shows those as well. Let me reiterate, I see in the MO wiki where it says to move the non-MO mods DLC into a particular order(other than it doesn't state where in the order they should be or if it matters, i.e very top or very bottom etc). But why is this necessary for MO to produce?
  17. Good to know, thanks for all your help, really appreciate it! Regards, Slinky
  18. Hey thanks for the info, appreciate it. I have been out of the loop here for a while, so I feel a little overwhelmed lol. I didn't even see that the unofficial hi-res was checked, I don't use it. Or didn't. But when I updated to 1.2.9 it changed so much of my order that I must have overlooked that. I realized after reviewing the new 2.2.9 STEP order, that I was probably going to have to re-do everything to be safe. But when I went up to 1.2.9 I first wanted to make sure everything was gonna work as before, just to see. And thanks for the advice about that load order, surprised I even got it to work after hearing what you have to say about it. I actually haven't even started installing anything from STEP 2.2.9 yet. But I do accept that I am having a bit of an id10t error :). One last thing on my mind, you say it doesn't matter about being loose or BSA, it was my understanding from the info I read about that on the STEP wiki (months ago),that loose and BSA should not mix together, and for best results you you should choose one or the other. I interpeted that loose was the preferred. So is this not the case anymore?
  19. Ok, started to begin my adventure with STEP 2.2.9. I saw that the warning shot for users of 1.2.1 (me) to not update MO, had been removed and are expected to utilize the most current MO. Well I did this, I used the update files to get from 1.2.1 to 1.2.9 (required two different archives). Got it to work, but MO 1.2.9 totally rearranged my load order, no problem just rearranged it. But I saw it now has 2 copies of all three of my DLC in the left pane. One set is being used and has the check mark next to it. The other set has no check mark, but has a line saying that it is a non-MO mod, the only thing I could think of is the fact that I have used DDSopt. I use NO bsa's, only loose files for everything. But I tried to just rearrange the order in the left pane their, re-do bashed patch, FNIS, and DSR patch. And skyrim CTD's at main menu immediately. So to make sure I wasn't having other issues, I went back to 1.2.1 and loaded skyrim and it worked like usual. So can anyone help me out here? I tried looking for some information on this and don't see any. I tried a search on the forums for anything relevant to this thread and didn't really see any. I really just need to understand what the 2 copies of the DLC are all about to begin with. This is my system https://wiki.step-project.com/User:CovertSlinky/SystemSpecs I also am using a partial STEP right now. BOSS load order of current modlist Regards,Slinky
  20. I am newb to STEP, just to state to that. Anyway, I would not do that as unsafememoryhacks from my knowledge is more geared toward AMD users as well as disabledrivermemorymanager. But before I potentially put my foot in my mouth about that :). Boris just hotfixed v.251 the other day cause expandsystemmemoryx64 was broke and causing harsh instability and CTD's. So in case you haven't, I would first go grab v.251 again and see what you get with STEP's recommendation for settings and then start tweaking. Was a bummer for me actually, cause before I found out about Boris having fixed that setting, I tweaked ENB to get around that problem for the most part, as far as stability anyway. Then had to go back to doing it ALL over again, cause with expandsystemmemoryx64 working right, it was a whole other animal. But more to your question. I, after having done what I just mentioned, ran into a brief point where I was getting stutter while moving and the background detail was popping in, changed some settings that didn't really help so I enabled unsafememoryhacks and am not fully sure if it's just a coincidence or not, but I am CTD'ing at the transition from the end of mq103 to the start of mq104 quests (where you give up the dragon stone tablet and irileth runs in to talk about the dragon that was spotted). I am using STEP Extended, and I have a 2gb-gddr5 Gigabyte R7260X, Asus sabertooth 990fx R2.0, AMD fx 4130, 2x 4gb-ddr3 1866mhz Corsair vengence cl-9. Without that problem I was finding that setting my reservedmemorysize and setting my videomemorysize bigger gave ME less stutter. I currently have it set to 2000 and 8000 respectively. But I am wishing I didn't set unsafememoryhacks, cause everything seemed to go to crap after that (like I said, COULD be a coincidence). Something to else to try is the enablecompression option, as long as you still have VRAM to spare, can use gpu-z to create a log file while playing to see where you stand, see what difference if any is made with that setting false and true. But make sure you have VRAM to spare or else this is going to make things worse. I leave it to true cause I am only using approx. 1700mb of vram. Not sure if I helped, but ENB can be a pain.
