Mod Organizer Spotty Downloading, Won't Log In
CovertSlinky replied to atlasatlarge's question in Mod Organizer Support
I just tried downloading again, this time it was a DSR patch on the nexus page, and MO downloaded it this time with no problems. I am going to try and 'check all for update" again and see if it works. Yup, "check all for update" worked. So maybe the problem is resolved or something. LOL, ok, after doing the check, I tried downloading the updated CBBE file, and it said download failed - server reported or some crap, I give up. -
CTD when installing standalone armour pack
CovertSlinky replied to O0mix0O's question in General Skyrim LE Support
OK, so is your SKSE up to date and installed correctly? Also did you remember to install xp32 max skeleton and install it with the STEP recommended options? Um, do you have all the patches that DSR requires, elemental staffs, weapon de-larp etc, also if you have Better Shaped Weapons installed you have to make sure that it is overwriting DSR and it's patches including the DSR SkyProc patch you make. Not meaning to question your intelligence with this, just thinking about anything that could stop it from working, cause I have had issues in the past with DSR myself. Think my problem had to do with the way I had xp32 max skeleton installed and the body replacer I had were causing conflicts with each other. I used to have UNP myself at one time, but I think that is around the same time I started having problems with DSR, so now I am using CBBE. Just spotted something that is most likely relevant, https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34155/? DSR has mesh patches on the nexus page and so far Warrior Within Swords is one of the ones listed as needing a mesh patch. Prolly gonna need that. LOL, looks like I got a few mods that need some of those meshes myself. -
CTD when installing standalone armour pack
CovertSlinky replied to O0mix0O's question in General Skyrim LE Support
WAIT, use the -noboss command line argument in MO, where you tell it where the file path is, I have to do that cause I use LOOT, and running boss screws up my load order. Also I have to click the box to "force patch" cause sometimes it gets messed up. Try that and see if you can get DSR working right again. In the argument section, it should look something like this -jar "C:Steam-SkyrimSteamAppscommonSkyrimMod OrganizermodsDual Sheath ReduxSkyProc PatchersDual Sheath Redux PatchDual Sheath Redux Patch.jar" -NOBOSS -

So, you don't use bashed patch is what you are saying? And you use Dual Sheath Redux, but haven't re-patched the SkyProc? If you use DSR, and you have changed your mod line-up, I would recommend you do re-patch it. And I can't think of a reason why you wouldn't want to use a bashed patch, if you got any mods that alter the leveled lists, then you need something that will patch those changes into the game. And I have no knowledge of an alternative to using wrye bash for this. -

Ok, I am not finding that GunerX, please enlighten me. All I can find in ddsopt is dxtx lossy, as a dxt option. -

Did you remember to rebuild the bashed patch and SkyProc patch after adding those mods and or changing the load order? I wonder if they are not being merged into the bashed patch properly and need to be, they add items to the game obviously, they might need to be manually tagged maybe so Wrye Bash includes, otherwise, you won't get any of the items in-game. This bash thing, I might be stepping a lil out of league, any smarter people out there know if what I am saying might be a possibility? -

Oh, shoot, I was way off. Dxt is which one, the lossy right? and 5, do you mean under the compression tab, setting it to 5 as opposed to any other number? -

That's a good point, that Halde makes. I am no expert on the subject, but would he run 512 across the board, or go even lower? -
CTD when installing standalone armour pack
CovertSlinky replied to O0mix0O's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Might be a dumb question, but... you are using UNP female body replacer, right? I am just trying to think of all possibilities, and that one is the most obvious, but it is human to err. And whatever load order LOOT assigns should be ok, and those standalone armors shouldn't need to be loaded at the bottom. Where do you have them in your install order, they should be in the same place you have other character and equipment mods installed. Also, you could use the conflict tab in MO to find out what mods might be overwriting it, or mods that it is overwriting and depending on the mod, shouldn't be. Or, use tes5edit and check for errors, DoubleYou's rule of thumb is to generally stay away from mods with <error cannot be resolved>. So if any of those mods have that error, might want to reconsider. -

I'm in Northeast, Michigan to be exact. I usually use the Washington, D.C. premium server. Maybe I should try a different server? Think that might help? -
20-30 fps after STEP Guide (Macro stutters)
CovertSlinky replied to Beamer's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Let me guess, you used dxdiag to tell you? If so, first off, dxdiag doesn't show vram only, it shows shared video memory, which includes the use of RAM. Second, dxdiag has been known for sometime now to report inaccurate values for shared memory on 64bit windows 7. And, your cards can perform, but, because of your vram limit, your performance is capped lower than what it might be able to achieve if it had 1gb or 2gb, etc. Point is, you are going to cap vram before you cap graphics computing. Also, I might of mis-spoke a bit, you might be able to use the Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized as an alternative to the hires dlc. -

CovertSlinky replied to Beamer's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Wow, yeah those are some pretty low specs, the Crossfire (not SLI, that is nVidia) config is helpful, but those cards are relatively weak in todays standards. But, remember, because you have two cards with 512mb of vram, you still only get 512mb of vram, they do not stack on each other to give you 1024. That 512mb of vram hurts your possibilities of modding skyrim. You will need to ditch the HiRes DLC for starters, if you haven't already. You need to pick low quality textures for mods were you can, and I HIGHLY recommend DDSopt your vanilla content AND the mods in your line up that can benefit from it, which there is alot of information on the STEP guide for it https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:DDSopt#tab=QUICK-START_GUIDE that will get you started. You really need to pay attention to your vram use, best way is to use the Skyrim Performance Monitor that STEP recommended in the beginning of the guide. And you will need to find good settings for your enblocal.ini to help prevent CTD's from running out of vram. -

CovertSlinky replied to Beamer's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Are you using an enb graphic preset, or just enboost? Also what are your specs? Have you tried lowering graphics quality, most particularly would be the distant detail setting in the launcher, I run mine at medium if I am trying to run at 1920x1080, but I have come to find I run modded skyrim like a champ with ultra graphics settings at 1680x1050. EDIT: sorry I mean the distant object detail under the view distance tab in the skyrim launcher. -

CovertSlinky replied to atlasatlarge's question in Mod Organizer Support
Yeah me too, boy sure am glad I am not alone and furthermore that it ain't some phantom problem I have to figure out how to fix. But I have been having this problem the day Daniel uploaded the Lost Library on nexus, I have had to download everything manually since. Today I was trying to 'check all for update' and it told me login failed - server forbidden. And I did re check my credentials even though I haven't touched them since I installed 2.2.9, and still same thing. So, you guys who know that it is a nexus problem, is it safe for me to call it that after 2 days of this problem? -
SKYRIMLE VioLens-A Killmove Mod (by Reko)
CovertSlinky replied to DoubleYou's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod works flawlessly more or less, I really like it. I think this mod could very easily be incorporated into the STEP Extended. Don't see this being a fit for Core, especially given the future direction of STEP, and Core should be nothing more than bare essentials to increase compatibility with other packs imo. -
ACCEPTED Alternate Start - Live Another Life by Arthmoor
CovertSlinky replied to youtoo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Exactly my thoughts about it, now I just use it as a work around for not having to go through the cart ride, fancy coc with a few fixes, that if I just did coc, to issues it can create. But that idea for faction mod with quests and subplots really peaks my interest. I am going to look into this, but I got another faction in mind. -
You said you use RealVision, me too. Did you know that there was update for it to the 261 enb, and has MAJOR changes to the options A and B, no changes for C, i.e. sweetfx is no longer incorporated into RealVision. So if you are using either A or B, and didn't update RealVision, do so and see if it helps.
-
No problems here either, loaded 261 the day it was released, the 10th if I remember. Installed it and everything played just the same. I use realvision enb, and didn't notice a difference with that either.

Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library
CovertSlinky replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
WHATTTTT? Nah, that ain't it, unh uh. LOL, yeah I figured that out after just saying f*ck it, and going with it. The game is working and merchants, belathor so far, has a few of the redone books for sale. So ok-ah-dok-ah-diliO I'm an idiot :) -
Without supplying technical info, which I don't know. They look good, really good! You did a great job of getting the glossy skin off, and they are well detailed. Really liked the Most tone More Abs, and agree that they do look really good on orcs. Aside from seeing what you already knew and what Aiyen has already brought up, the vertical shadow lines. I like them and think they will only get better.

I tried manually adding it, but it didn't like me. When I did it, it added the lost library but didn't add the one's that were already there. -
Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library
CovertSlinky replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Then I am lost, cause the bashed patch WILL NOT show the lost library anywhere in the report as being incorporated. Adding those tags did nothing either, it showed up as a deleveler/releveler in the leveled list tab before you build it. But even then it doesn't show up in the report anywhere. What am I missing here? EDIT: Ok, wait a minute, so I removed the tags since they didn't seem to appear to be helping anyway. Put it back to automatic tag, then built the patch, and now in MO, if I highlight bashed patch in the plugin order, it shows the lost library as an enabled master. Is this all I need to see to know that the leveled list that lost library alters, is going to be noticed?
