  1. Thanks! I didn't realize that the name you can write before installing is also the folder name, and that they need to be the same to be able to merge. I reinstalled the MCM bug fix and merged it, i hope that was not a bad idea. Are there any 'rules' to the folder naming? Do i need to put all bug fixes and updates into the same folder as their parent mod? If so you should mention it in the guide.
  2. I am following this guide at the moment. Thanks so much for making it! The STEP guide for Skyrim was amazing as well. I'll post about any problems i find during installation. Forgive me if they have already been mentioned before. 1. The Mod Configuration Menu When installing the MCM Bugfix 2 file i was never asked to click Merge or Replace. 2. JIP Selective-Fire File under moderation review. Can not download or view on Nexus. 3. The Weapon Mod Menu F&L does not mention installation method. The mod's readme says the Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) installer will be the only supported installation method. Clarification in F&L would be nice. I installed using FOMM - Fork and afterwards created a new mod for it in MO. 4. Hall Of Equipment How do you install the optionals into the same folder? This is where i stopped for now, will continue later, or when i get an answer to 4.
  3. The fieldgrass texture is surprisingly small and looks repetitive. Fortunately not many places have a lot of these textures without plants on them. However as you can see in the screenshots below, i found them to be distracting around Riverwood. For STEP Core i suggest hiding textures\landscape\fieldgrass02.dds and fieldgrass02_n.dds If you followed the STEP installation order it will then use the Skyrim Realistic Overhaul. I prefer this one. You can disable these as well to use the Serious HD Retexture Skyrim textures which include the flowers in Flora Overhaul but the texture is much larger, looking less repetitive. Especially the 'line' of flowers in Flora Overhaul is distracting, while i also find the dark patches in Serious HD distracting. I do like the little flowers though. See for a comparison: Skyrim Flora Overhaul Skyrim Realistic Overhaul Serious HD Retexture Skyrim
  4. For STEP Core i suggest hiding textures\landscape\frozenmarshgrass01.dds and frozenmarshgrass01_n.dds You will then use the Serious HD Retexture Skyrim textures which in my opinion look less repetitive. Especially the dark spots are annoying me. See for a comparison: Serious HD Retexture Skyrim Skyrim Realistic Overhaul
  5. Ok. See my post above though. I already have a proxy library set in enbseries.ini. What do I do?I assume there are loaders for loading multiple d3d9 files, however the ENB series documentation contains the following information which i dont understand:"If you can't load some useful library with ENBSeries, there is an other way, to replace original d3d9.dll in Windows System32 folder with ENBSeries d3d9.dll, but it's for advanced users, who knows how to bypass file recovering system, this way 3rd party d3d9.dll will be in game folder and will load ENBSeries like original library and ENBSeries must to load that original d3d9.dll as proxy from some other path user defined" https://enbdev.com/doc_proxy_en.htm
  6. Perhaps it's because of the line RenderAheadLimit=0 in this mod's .cfg file, or it's because the frame limiter is turned on in the d3d9.dll instead of in an external ini or cfg file. Or some other ENB settings are interfering with the frame limiter.
  7. You should take a look at ENB's built-in frame limiter. I experienced stutter with it which was resolved by using this mod instead. Curious to see if ENB's limiter also causes trouble for others. You can toggle ENB's frame limiter on and off by using Shift + Home, useful for testing.
  8. No more micro stutter, my enblocal.ini is in my last post on Page 1
  9. i have a HD6870 2GB In skyrimprefs, PresentInterval=0 It is also disabled to 'Always off' in CCC (both v-sync and openGL triple buffering) The only thing i changed in regards to the STEP guide is disabling ENB v-sync and enabling this mod's frame limiter in this antilag.cfg i have [config] RenderAheadLimit=0 FPSlimit=60
  10. Please try playing without v-sync and with the ENB limiter on. If you get hitches, try this FPS Limiter mod.My game runs super smooth now. My ENBlocal.ini values are as follows: I read that you can set ReservedMemorySizeMb much lower if you have the VRAM, for 2GB it can be set to 64. As you can see mine is 256 and works fine now. This is what the calculator recommended in the STEP guide told me. Stuttering can be caused by a myriad of reasons, so try everything.
  11. At least in my case it worked to fix the stuttering. So it might work for others with similar setups. Since it worked for me and there was a clear difference between using ENB's limiter or this mod, it's definitely worth a try. ENB's graphics effects are off, as per STEP Guide: UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true Video card settings as per STEP Guide: CCC Wait for Vertical Refresh: Always off CCC OpenGL Triple Buffering: Off Micro stuttering - looks as if FPS is low, but is actually high - occurred with ENB V-Sync: on ENB Frame Limiter: off FPS Limiter (by GriefReaper): off Less frequent stutter - more like single frames dropping every second - i had with: ENB V-Sync: off ENB Frame Limiter: on FPS Limiter (by GriefReaper): off or both on: ENB V-Sync: off ENB Frame Limiter: on FPS Limiter (by GriefReaper): on Stuttering completely disappeared with: ENB V-Sync: off ENB Frame Limiter: off FPS Limiter (by GriefReaper): on or everything off, but this introduced the physics bug. I did not try different CCC settings or using 'Vanilla' V-Sync I guess i don't experience screen tearing because thanks to the incredible STEP Core pack, my FPS is always more than 35. OR, it could be because i am running in borderless full-screen.
  12. Like i said, ENB's built-in frame limiter doesn't fix the stuttering.
  13. STEP does not recommend this mod .... Please carefully follow the instructions under STEP 1 of the latest guide in order to configure graphics optimally. There are several ifs/ands, so carefully follow those instructions and you should be good to go. --if not, then please post specifics about your hardware and setup as described at bottom of this post ... and read the links to further info in that post. This mod is completely redundant with the more comprehensive solutions that are currently available. STEP FPS LIMITER by GriefReaper Play without V-sync! Gained performance and fixed micro stuttering. Tested with AMD's ATI HD6870 2GB. This is a replacement of the d3d9.dll file and includes a .cfg file. Works with ENB. This mod helped against some micro stuttering I was experiencing while using ENB's V-sync. With V-sync on I was experiencing micro stuttering at some places like outdoors with lots of foliage or some dungeons, that made it look like my FPS dropped heavily while it was still around 40. It looked like 25 but was running at 40. First I disabled V-sync altogether which got rid of the stuttering but introduced the high FPS physics problem. Skyrim was made to work with locked or limited FPS and V-sync locks FPS, console versions also have limited FPS. This problem causes forces to seem multiplied at higher than 60 FPS, as the physics in Skyrim are based on frames and not on time. Items appear lighter and vibrate, making noises and sometimes bounce all over the place when touched, it also causes flickering of water and repeating water sounds. Now, ENB has a built-in FPS limiter that fixes the physics bug and allows you to play without V-sync. I tried this but it still allowed for less frequent micro stuttering in some places, more like hitches. Now, FPS limiter does the same thing, but changes the d3d9.dll instead. Follow the instructions for ENB users (change the proxy settings in ENB). Ignore the comment about forcing on V-sync on the video card if you have the same problem as I have. This mod allowed me to play without V-sync and does not cause any physics abnormalities I am aware of. It makes my game much smoother by removing the 'fake' stuttering caused by V-sync or ENB. I haven't seen any screen tearing so far either. It might have other uses as it appears superior to ENB's frame limiter.
  14. I did some moving and reinstalling because Skyrim on external HDD was causing missing sound effects. When i load BOSS or Wrye Bash through MO they do not load any mods. I reinstalled those programs on another hard drive and i suspect it has something to do with wrong registry entries. Or perhaps i need to add something to the Start In or Arguments lines in MO. How do i fix this? And if it can't be easily fixed, how do i reinstall MO without losing mods and load orders?
  15. Wrye Bash has problems with the characters ' and " as well. Some of the detailed ini-tweaks from the STEP guide have these characters in the ini line descriptions. I suggest they be removed from the guide. They were causing me charmap errors on startup.
  16. I want to decrease the PCLevelSkillExpMults for the Wayfarer and Alchemy skills. How do you set the skill multipliers in the Elys Uncapper for SkyRe skill trees such as Wayfaring and Fingersmith? I suppose they are Lockpicking and Pickpocket but which is which? -nevermind i found it in the SkyRe documentation. Lockpicking is Wayfarer and Pickpocket is Fingersmith. I am using Step Core and VEGA Core with the SIC+HLE combo without RotE, with Realistic Needs and Diseases and some extra smaller mods. So far the game runs great but leveling seems very quick and normal enemies like wolves die in 1 hit, bandits in 3-4 shots from a bow, while some other enemies are very tough like the Hired Thugs. I am going to decrease all the PCLevelSkillExpMults by 0.1 and Lockpicking and Alchemy by 0.2. Think that will make a difference?
  17. Great mod pack! Will you be updating VEGA Core to STEP 2.2.8? I'm running 2.2.8 without your mod pack for too long! NVM that i just read your post. Can i just run the latest SIC and HLE - SIC Edition over Step Core 2.2.8? Can i continue using the Step Core Patch?
  18. Thanks, i just deleted them from the mods folder in the MO directory. Hiding all those meshes takes a while.
  19. I installed this mod with Mod Organizer, do i still need to hide the files listed in the recommendations?
