1. Oh? My apologies then, I must have been thinking of a different mod or set of records.
2. It won't be compatible out of the box, because BOTH mods modify different values in the same records, so a patch is absolutely necessary. Load order swap won't fix this.
3. I was browsing FNV nexus recently at random and found these interesting. Will definitely check them out! Well, maybe not all at once, but I think they're at least worth looking at... [*]NV Enhanced Camera - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55334/? (1st person camera with the body) [*]Mojave Sandy Desert - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55328/? (terrain retexture) [*]After War Nevada - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55281/? (a massive overhaul, expect incompatibility with a lot of mods) [*]Pulowski Preservation Mini Bunker - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/50738/? (lore friendly small player home) [*]Moolio Remix - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55203/? (another overhaul that sounds like it makes sense) [*]Road Fighter Armor - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55270/? (it's only 1 armor, but it looks COOL!) [*]EWI's Limecliffs Retex - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55320/? (retexture) [*]EWI's Rocks - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55310/? (ditto) [*]Tales From the Burning Sands - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37172/? (quest mod series - 3 chapters, looks interesting!) [*]and Project Nevada patch for it - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55305/? [*]Advance Robotics Expert - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55274/? (enhances the Perk to be a bit more useful) [*]NPCs Travel - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54107/? (adds travellers to FNV, it uses scripts however, so not sure about that one...) [*]For The Enclave! - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39531/? (large quest mod, where you can join the Enclave) [*]Special Snow Globes - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55211/? (snow globes now grant SPECIAL points when they are on display, to make them useful) [*]Populated Forlorn Hope Camp - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55241/? (expands FHC to feel a little bit more realistic)
4. Well, you 're a good example of "I've installed a thousand random mods from Nexus and now my game CTD's, HELP!" :D My suggestion: ditch your game, install STEP extended and stick to it. If you really want to add other mods, add one at a time, and if you can't be bothered testing them, make a back up save and play with it. If no problems arise, add another mod (if you must!), rince repeat.
5. Octopuss, just a quick question. Do you use PURE installation of STEP (Core or XT?) or did you add other mods to your installation?
6. You have to install the mods in the exact same order as they appear in the guide.
7. Try installing XP32 Skeleton last (or just move it down in the installation order if you use MO).
8. Rebuild your Bashed Patch. Do you use "Import names" or "stats" options when rebuilding?
9. The patches should not necessarily be at the bottom, but they should overwrite the patched mod. So you could have, say: DSR > BSW > BSW-DSR Patch. Personally, because I keep every DSR patch as a separate mod (I like it that way), I have DSR towards the end of my install order, followed by a long list of separate DSR patches. I think what Z means is to place DSR mod itself in Fixes section, towards the top of install order, then install the relevant patches at he end (effectively placing them at the bottom of install order list in MO).
10. Great stuff, thanks. I just found out that you can right click the thumbnails within the post (for igmur ones at least) and it will let you 'open in new tab'. That's helpful workaround, temporarily.
11. Ok, let's not clutter this thread with OT anymore guys and focus on discussing the mod. Thanks :) Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
12. I'm using CBC in my playthrough now and have used it before. It's a good mod, but bear in mind that it's not very lore friendly, due to how you're supposed to get your crossbows in the vanilla game. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
13. It's how I have my installation list structured. I keep all the DSR patches separated, so it's a long lists of mods - hence I prefer to keep it at the bottom of my list.
14. I would agree this mod belongs to Entended, HOWEVER we need to establish what extra option we want (i.e. extra equipment from Bandoliers and JaySuS swords, decide aMidian Born addon for this etc.)
15. If you want to use DSR and not separate the files, then yes, you have to install it after DSR.
16. Is there any Picture Gallery kind of addon we can install for the forums? Viewing comparison screens is tedious and not good at this moment, absolutely awful. The MyBB gallery solution was very nice. With the current one, you can't switch to the next image, the images are expanded beyond the screen, so that you can't see the full image, and sometime you can't even 'open in the new tab', as certain service that people use to upload the images to prevent that option from being used.
17. I have been using this mod for a long time, and I agree it should be included in STEP. Yes, it should say 'installation order' rather than 'load order'. As for DSR, I have DSR towards the end of my installation order, and I had to separate DSR meshes from this mod and re-install them as a separate 'mod'. I was under the impression that refraction versions required the relevant mods to be installed first. If this is indeed the case, then we should not install those options. Need confirmation
18. So, in regards to ENB - which ENB would you guys recommend for 0.249 and Nevada Skies 1.4.1? I tried to search Nexus, but couldn't find any suitable ones... ::edit:: Another mod that I used before and that adds to immersion is Burning Campfire - that just makes the campfires actually burn when you activate them in game. Simple and good! However I have just noticed it may not be compatible with HH. I asked author if that's the case, see what they say...
19. No problem. Just one more mod came to my mind, it's a must have for me: A Familiar Friend - The Pip-Boy 2500 - Handheld Pipboy + alternate skins for it. ::EDIT:: Ditto.
20. Just one last point, SRB. Adding Wrye Flash as an executable would need instructions, as it will prove tricky for less experienced users: Select <Edit...> from the drop down list of executables in Mod Organizer In the displayed window input "Wrye Flash" into the "Title" box (wihout the quotation marks) Input "E:Python27python.exe" (without the quotation marks) into the "Binary" field, amending the path accordingly to your Python installation - alternatively, select "..." button and locate your Python installation directory. Input "E:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonFallout New Vegas enplczruMopy" (without the quotation marks) in the "Start In" field, amending the path accordingly to where you have Wrye Flash installed - alternatively, select "..." button and locate your Wrye Flash installation directory. Input "E:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonFallout New Vegas enplczruMopyWrye Bash Launcher.pyw" (WITH the quotation marks this time), again amending the path accordingly to where you have Wrye Flash installed. Select "Add" button. That completes the guide review. It's well written, detailed and easy to follow - well done SRB! I Must say I never used any body replacers before, but I will use them now, to see how it looks in game. Also, I did not install couple of mods that you recommend, namely Centered 3rd Person Camera and Tutorial Killer (personal preference, too many ESPs, accordingly). Here's Some a lot of other mods that I can recommend from my side or that I've had on my "to check" list: [*]El Rey Motel Overhaul - note I haven't actually tested this mod, I just have it in my "to check" list. In essence it changes El Rey Motel for the interior to actually reflect what the exterior of the building look like. I never noticed it, until I saw this mod. [*]Light Up and Smoke Those Cigarettes - this is essential for that western feel I love about FNV! It works like a charm, I was using it in my previous playthrough [*]Alternative Fast Travel - Speed-E Wheels Travel Systems - again, never tested it, but it sounds cool. [*]Manual Reload - this removes automatic reloading of your guns. Realism mod. Used it before, no issues. [*]JIP Companions Command - used it, but not the latest version. Worked perfectly. Gopher uses it in his current Let's Play too. OSD for companions control. Reminds me of Skyrim's EFF. Would need to test against your guide's mod set up. Also, it needs NMM Unified HUD install. [*]DCE - HQ Beards - used before, good mod! It's set to hidden atm on Nexus though, reason: New Beard textures and Hair textures are included in Fallout Character Overhaul. . Link. I have never used this one, so need to check it out. [*]Four Legged Friends - adds some animal companions to the game. Never used it, but it looked interesting. [*]Improved Automatic Ironsight animations - can't remember if I actually used it... It "removes camera movement in the 2haattackloopis.kf animation, and instead adds a proper firing animation. This way, the gun will visibly recoil, but the camera will stay still, making it much easier to use this guns as they were intended. [*]" [*]Ladder Restoration Project - great mod for sniper type characters. It "brings to you the functionality of the ladders to all the tall billboards across the wasteland, and even the guard towers around the camp McCaren wall. Thats right you no longer have to longingly look up at those guards as they fire down on fiends, now you can do it too [*]". [*]Monocyte Breeder Implant Improved "This mod improves the implant so you can regenerate 1hp every half second. That's 60 health every 30 seconds! Now you might actually be tempted to spend the 12000 caps for it! [*](previously the implant had you regenerate 1hp every 10 seconds, the new implant has been buffed quite a bit, but is useless unless you take cover in a firefight.)" [*]New Vegas Uncut mod series (search Nexus). They add a lot of removed vanilla content to the game. Equivalent of Skyrim's Cutting Room Floor. I had them installed, but never actually tested [*]High Detail LOD for Mojave - can't remember if I actually used it, but I have it endorsed on Nexus, so must have... Worth checking out. [*]Couriers Stash Integration - a better alternative for Courier Stash Pre-oreder pack selector IMHO. Now all the items are added to the levelled lists. Awesome! Used it and loved it. [*]CASM with MCM - FNV is not as stable as Skyrim... or at least that's my experience. That's why autosave tool is essential! Used it ofc. [*]Increased Weapon Jamming - as per the name. Realism mod. Used it before, it's great. [*]Missing Ammo Recipes - enhances the ammo recipes list with the ones that were missed in vanilla. Used it, loved it. [*]Better Smoke and Ballistics - [*]Epic Skills - Effects over 100 - in essence, this is the equivalent of Skyrim's Community Uncapper [*]Ammo Ingredients as Loot - "It kinda sucks that you never find primers or powders for ammo crafting lying around, doesn't it? Well thankfully, this mod gives a small chance of those components showing up in ammo crates, dumpsters and toolboxes." Used it and loved it. [*]Hi-Res Eyes Replacer - not sure how big the textures are, but I don't care, they're awesome. [*]Clear Helmets for Radsuits - changes the radsuit helmet to be clear. Nice effect! Used it before. [*]Bottlecaps Have Weight - realism mod, it's only a game setting. [*]Bullet Impact Increased LOD - bullets are visible at larger distances. [*]Now, I know it's a massive list, but all the mods are worth checking out, I'm sure you guys will find something useful here :)
21. Try to remove ini files from your MO profile and copy over vanilla ones from My Documents/My Games/FNV - maybe this will help.Sent from my GT-I9505 using TapatalkEDIT...Ah, I see you've figured it out now :)
22. Aaaand we continue... Ambient Wasteland 2 - why do we use old 1.1 version, and which one (WAV - presumably?). Why not use version 2 in FNV native OGG format?Dead Money - Surprise Vending Items Restoration - BUM instruction typo: "In the adjacent textbox type "Game-Settings and Overrides" and click [save Rule]."Faction Armor Usage Enhancements - BUM instruction typo: "In the adjacent textbox type "Game-Settings and Overrides" and click [save Rule]."Sorry for short posts, but I'm going through the guide in short bursts whenever I find some spare time - just want to finish it asap. Once I reviewed it all, I'll then suggest some mods from my own list for your consideration and start making conflict resolution patch - that should save you some work, as I'm always saving individual patches as a back up, so I'll be able to send some your way.
23. Nice one, thanks SRB. Continued, Packrat Mentaliy section only, as wifey is calling for dinner Pre-War Money Retex - need specific instructions which files to download and installation instructions ::EDIT:: Alternate Blood Spout - BUM instruction typo: "In the adjacent textbox type "Game-Settings and Overrides" and click [save Rule]." Have to stop now due to Nexus service maintenance.
24. Continued: WFO - no LOD file?Robert's Male Body - No DLC Patches?Feral Ghoul Retexure - good find!ADAM - there is no file in that link apparently...WRP - No mention to install Christine's RifleWMX - What is WMX-POPMerged.esp? WMX - you tell to install DLC-Merged version (as per BUM) instructions, however Half Hansified Holorifle requires WMX-HonestHearts.esp as Master, and also in Merged case, EVE-allDLCMerged.esp is not on BOSS Masterlist and requires BUM instructionsAgain, where possible I'd sort alphabetically :)
25. Yeah, it is I'd say. A lot of ppl didn't like it, but I actually think they did a good job. It's fun and the story is good, although not as deep as MP1 and 2. That doesn't meant it's bad, it's different. I haven't completed it yet, but I'm near the end I'd say.
