  1. I am in the process of updating the guide... One thing I came across is the fact that the newer version of enb includes "AutodetectVideoMemorySize". Do we want this feature set to "true", and then change "VideoMemorySizeMb" to "VideoMemorySizeMb="? Or do we want to set it to "false", and then change "VideoMemorySizeMb=" to the VRAM amount? Or even further... should this be updated to reflect STEP's Skyrim instructions to: all 32-bit users and 64-bit users with less than 8GB system RAM, set to formula: [Dedicated Video Memory] + [system RAM] − 2048 64-bit users with ≥ 8GB system RAM, set to formula: [Total Available Graphics Memory] − [170 (for Win7) or 350 (for Win8+)]" ? I will leave this part of the ENBoost instructions alone for now, until I can get some feedback from someone with more intimate knowledge of this. I would like to modify this soon though, since the instructions currently mention nothing about the "AutodetectVideoMemorySize" setting.
  2. Good thing about adding in the extra optionals now available is that the merged end product of Roberts Male Body still only contains one plugin. There are a couple optionals where the modder must make a choice. Here is the list that Mikaal provided: 1. Roberts New Vegas Main - Underwear 3_3 2. Roberts Courier's Stash DLC Patch 3_3 3. Roberts Dead Money DLC Patch 3_3 4. Roberts Honest Hearts DLC Patch-Underwear 3_3 5. Roberts Lonesome Road DLC Patch 3_3 6. Roberts Old World Blues DLC Patch-Underwear 3_3 7. Roberts Pipboy Fix 3_3 8. Roberts Hairy Patch 3_3 (If you want the body to have more hairs) 9. Roberts Dirty Raiders 3_3 (If you want no tattoos!) My main file is the underwear version, same as this... but I chose the naked DLC versions otherwise and also the sexy legion optional (not mentioned above at all). The reason is because I think that it does make sense that there would not be underwear underneath most of the outfits in those cases (hospital gown, tribal garb, roman-style kilts/skirts...). One thing that happens though (in my set up), is after the outfit is removed from a dead body that was wearing it, the outfitless body has underwear. A minor discrepancy... If I make changes to the guide, should I list the underwear versions but then afterwards place a note in to point out where non-underwear versions can be alternately used? How do people feel about that? What do the underwear versions even look like - (in the case of a tribal outfit) would it be like there was a cock-gourd on top of a pair of visible boxer shorts sticking out the side? lol I never compared... Other than that, I happen to prefer the new hairy bodies as they look much more realistic. I also prefer raiders to be dirty-looking over having tattoos. I will definitely be adding those optionals to the guide.
  3. If anyone else gives me indication that they have installed the new version of Roberts Male Body according to a combination of instructions from what's in the guide currently and Mikaal's and my conversation about it. Please give me feedback and I will update the guide. I just want to hear from at least one other person about it before I go ahead with the update. I know there are some other mods that are listed as old versions in the guide, but I'm not dealing with those right now... Oh, and next time I update the guide, I will be crediting myself at the bottom with contributing something to it. ;)
  4. STEP assumes you have DynDOLOD properly installed. To me, it looks like you don't... because that's what my game looks like when I disable DynDOLOD.
  5. I have played a little with entering Camp Searchlight and fighting enemies there, including 1 glowing ghoul, and I have not experienced any issues. Is this an issue that a lot of people have, or a few? How frequent are your CTDs and could it be that I haven't spent enough time in Camp Searchlight to notice crashes?
  6. I tested by loading a saved game prior to talking to Andy and then fast traveling there - it changes after talking to him and gets messed up. I used TCL console command to float across the gap to get into the room after it glitches out. I'll have to go there to test in my game...
  7. Just got through D.E.I.M.O.S. (DEIMOS). I found it fairly disappointing. I'm just going to leave it at that, because I don't feel like going through all the reasons why.
  8. So I just installed Roberts Male Body 3.3. I still haven't tested anything in-game as I am still optimizing files within it. I went to remove ITMs and xEdit could not find any... so the plugin is definitely different from before and doesn't contain an ITM anymore apparently. Also, I ran the Generate Bash Tags script in xEdit and it removed 2 "bad" tags from the header. That's odd because I think it only ever did this for one other plugin in the F&L guide. It removed Graphics and NPC.Race. It added Body-M. Have you noticed these things as well and does that seem appropriate to you? I wonder why the mod author would have added incorrect tags in his new version. EDIT: In my order I replaced "4. Roberts Honest Hearts DLC Patch-Underwear 3_3" and "6. Roberts Old World Blues DLC Patch-Underwear 3_3" with the nude versions and added in the "Sexy Legion Patch". I didn't do this because I get gratification from seeing naked men. I did it for the sake of the fact that the author says that it makes it so that there is no underwear under the patient gown, tribal armor, or legion skirts/kilts. That made sense to me.
  9. The tags on plugins are so that when the bashed patch is created it knows how to properly combine plugins into the bashed patch based off of the bash tags set for the plugins. EDIT: Like Kesta said, it allows for more automated patching so less manual patch editting is required to get desired results.
  10. WB takes LOOT tags and mod header tags and combines them. If you make manual changes in WB, then it goes with those instead. Here is my proof (done in Wrye Flash, but I'm assuming WB is the same in this regard?): https://forum.step-project.com/topic/4727-fear-and-loathing-in-new-vegas-feedback/?p=135664
  11. Perhaps the author had started working on a new version back when the Steam Workshop had started its paywall thing (and you know that didn't last long). Now he's annoyed that his continued efforts with the hopes of getting some money for them are no longer an option, so he did that as a result.
  12. Yeah, I haven't had a lot of issues. The two main ones were that Ranger Station one and Sortomatic acts pretty wonky in the schoolhouse from time to time. Someone mentioned the crafting stations in the schoolhouse not able to find ingredients properly - I have the same issue. Even if you set them to use all containers, there are certain ingredients that they just can't find and I have to manually go and pick up the ingredients and have them on person for them to be recognized... Oh, yes, and I swapped the load orders of NVR and FCO.
  13. Anyone run into this issue at Ranger Station Charlie? I had been there previously and there were no graphical glitches. Then I talked with Ranger Andy in Novac who asked me to check up on the ranger station. Upon returning, I get this...
  14. The point is that if it needs to be run after you install certain mods, then it's very easy to forget to run it again when it's in the MO pages and not at the part of the guide where it talks about the final steps to creating a mod setup. The guide has you set up MO at the very beginning. Not many people are going remember to back-date their BSAs again or go back to that part again after installing MO and get reminded.
  15. Oh OK, apparently I'm still using 0.269. :)
  16. Yes, but unsafe isn't as "unsafe" as it might lead someone to believe. My experience is that nearly everything Boris says tends to require a number of people analyzing it to make sure that what was said is understood properly. :D From my understanding, in some situations it might cause CTDs. Other than that, it's not going to corrupt someone's game/save game - right? If it ends up fixing a persistent stutter issue, but causes rare CTDs and causes no other damage then I would consider it a benefit. Now that I know this is Skyrim we are talking about though and not Fallout New Vegas... let me suggest something else. Set EnableZPrepass=false and FixLag=false. If I set either of these to true in my own setup, stutter was worse. In one case at least I remember it was much worse.
  17. While I tend to agree for the most part about the shadows (mainly that it's probably not worth the performance hit for what you get visually), there have been times where I knew a dartwing or other insect was flying near me by noticing the shadow of it move past me on the ground. Also, when insects are in groups their shadows are more interesting to look at.
  18. Check out Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited STEP Pack (https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited_-_Legendary_Edition#The_People_of_Skyrim). He discusses how to integrate the "UNP Blessed" female body into the game. If on the other hand you go with CBBE (instead of UNP Blessed as previously mentioned), and if you decide you actually prefer normal-looking outfits on curvy figures rather than ridiculous outfits, then check out this clothing/armor conversion that I found for CBBE hidden away on CBBE's Nexus mod page: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59960/. I have never used it, but it sounds great (includes all female outfits/armors from the base game and all DLCs) and the screenshots look good I think. If I ever did decide to make my women in the game sexier, I would go that route. I personally HATE HATE HATE skimpy outfit replacers though, which is why this one seems so appealing to me. It's not skimpy but works with the enhanced curves.
  19. Try this: EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true The only way I can use ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true without horrendous stutter is to use the other setting. It is this way for a lot of people - I'm surprised this wasn't suggested yet... While it's better to see if re-adjusting some of the other settings solves the problem first, it just may well be that the only way to solve it is to either set EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true or set ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false. At least to try to see if it works, since quite a few people need to do this to remove the stutter introduced by ENB's memory handling features for Fallout New Vegas. EDIT: Oops. I was thinking this thread was in the Fallout New Vegas forum... :)
  20. If this is the case, shouldn't this be mentioned at the end of the guide as a step that someone should do at the same time they are creating their bashed patch, DSR, FNIS? It sounds pretty important. EDIT: I don't see an automatic function for this either. It seems like you click it once and it runs once. So if you were to add in extra mods with loose files later on and place them after mods with bsas, couldn't you run into the issues again unless you click to run the back-date process again?
  21. I think we should replace 101Bugs too, with this mod and the others that kryptopyr mentioned in the previous message.
  22. Another possibility - when you merged mods, did you disable the original files/plugins and only keep the merged mod active? I'm wondering if you have too many plugins installed.
  23. The other option is to disable a large chunk of your mods, recreate your bashed patch, and start the game up. See if there is a problem. If it still persists then it may not be any of the mods you disabled. Next step - re-enable the mods and disable another large chunk, recreate bashed patch, start the game up. Repeat. Do this until it works correctly. Then hone in on the issue by re-enabling small bits of the offending portion of disabled mods until you find out exactly which mod or merging of mods is causing the problem.
  24. See this one: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/8469-no-starting-menu-showing-up/?p=133897
