But you can opt to have them close after the game starts. Are they still running in the background? I wasn't aware of this feature in WB (or NMM)... is it new? Been a part of NMM for a while, it's just a checkbox in the settings. I didn't know WB did auto-shutdown, that's cool cuz I usually just leave it on in the background.

I've used some other mods that hand place items, like LSB Battlehammers, and those mods don't really cause any conflicts, but if cells get loaded up with to many items it can cause issues.

All of InsanitySorrow's work has been top notch so far, I really like the Ice Blade of the Monarch. He's like the hothtrooper of weapons, only makes one at a time and doesn't put them in a pack.

Recommended upgrades for Skyirm with STEP
skwareballz replied to nico53laval's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Even if you load up on powerful GPUs with lots of VRAM, Skyrim will still be CPU limited due to the heavy scripting involved. If you use a lot of mods that have add to the CPU's workload, like Economics of Skyrim, then you will still get performance issues regardless of VRAM. In other words, it is just as wise to upgrade to Ivy Bridge as it is to upgrade to Kepler. -
I do something like venkman for backing up some of the mods I track with NMM. The only mod I actually use NMM to install is SkyUI, since it's really simple. The problem with NMM is that it will all of a sudden stop recognizing the mods you've downloaded and just list their regular file name, so it looks like every mod is out-of-date, super annoying.

Morroblivion has been completed for the original Morrowind game, they are now converting over the expansion packs. I know you have to own both games though even though it's all run off of Oblivion, and I think someone has even made some hi-res texture packs for the game. I don't know if I could be on one of those projects that takes years and years, especially not for free. Just look at how bad things have gotten on the Black Mesa mod. Anyway, I'm kinda surprised that of all the MMO talk no one played EVE Online. I don't like MMOs, but every time I here about the game it's some kind of massive user created space piracy thing.

Eventhough I've tried and liked RCRN, I keep coming back to RLwC. It just gives Skyrim the harsh, empty feeling outside of the cities that I want. The small update made doesn't come with a WB friendly version though. I saw on Beth Forums that yet another major lighting/weather mod was coming out in July, called Project Reality - Climates of Tamriel. There is a youtube video The video isn't all that great, so I'm not sure if that's how it's going to look or if the video is just bad. The clouds still look spectacular though. I bet when major releases for these lighting mods approach that TC has nightmares.

ACCEPTED Lanterns of Skyrim - All In One (by MannyGT)
skwareballz replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I figured that his two mods would have to be combined sooner or later. Always liked seeing the lights on the bridges, but not much of a fan with them on the roads. The custom esps are really awesome though. I wish there were the console options to disable some of the lanterns like Claralux. -
I've read a few reviews on Anandtech and it seems that Crossfire scaling on Arkham City and Skyrim were both broken, compared to their SLI brethren. That was when the GTX690 was getting ready to launch, so maybe it's been fixed by now. I haven't owned an AMD card since they were still ATi, but I remember the drivers being either really good or really bad.

Is this guy going to make a compilation so we can just choose what we want from Slof and what we want from Bellyache? Slofs horses are better in my opinion, but I still like most of what Bellyache has produced as far as animals go.

Real Rain by PlayerTw0 A rain mod that looks a bit different than Natural Skyrim Rain. This has bit more of a blurry rain look than the small straight lines. I think it's going to be the rain mod used in RLwC v4.0, but who knows since those lighting mod guys change their minds faster than they change pants.

I wish I had more time to play some of the games I've purchased. I often wonder why I have a job if I'm not going to ever enjoy the money I make. At least half of my Steam games have never even been downloaded and installed. anyways, I play quite a bit of Mass Effect 3, the multiplayer is quite addictive and the free maps and characters keep me hooked. I played some Kotor 2 recently because of TSLRP mod, which restores some of the content that was cut from the game, but for some reason the assets were left on the discs. I just finished Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet after it was released on PC, the art style is cool and the game is fun, but a bit short. I played about an hour of the new Ghost Recon with a friend and had a blast with it's co-op. Ofcourse, I've played TESV a bit here and there as new mods have popped up, but I'm taking a bit of a break since I'm going to update to 1.6 and add in a bunch of mods I've been eyeing for a while very soon.

One of my favorite parts of this mod is blowing a horn to call your horse, and then the fast dismount so you can go right into combat.

2020 might be right if you look at the shape of the oceans the amount of contamination from tankers going into the water. I've read that 90% of all the larger ocean animals, whales, sharks, tuna... , are already dead from fishing, and pollution. Ocean plant life is dying super fast too, like Usain Bolt fast, which spells disaster for the Earth's biosphere. When the oceans loose the ability to sustain life the land masses are far behind. We've made some amazing advancements in the last few centuries, but it seems that we invented the things that will destroy us. As far as capitalism goes, the very nature of what capitalism is has changed so much or the last century. We have basically accepted that it has morphed into corporatism, which is not the same thing at all. If you go out and talk to teachers off the record they will tell you that there is to much bureaucracy, but especially in elementary schooling, parents are as much to blame as anyone. Parents have become absent and let the square boxes purvey the world to children. We are letting the youths grow up thinking that somehow MTV's programming is showing them a healthy lifestyle and that Facebook updates are a good source of information. Maybe I just feel that way because my parents were always home and never overworked, but still absent from my life growing up even if they were in the next room. I think a lot of kids aren't getting the home education they need as much as school education, and so we can change our schools, but the culture at home has to change as well. Bureaucracy may be a problem, but we seem to think life is somehow harder now than it used to be. We have seen leaps and bounds in the last few generations, but people just seem to be so jaded by what they have. People in the pre-60s world still died of Polio, now people don't even die when their heart explodes from filling it with cheese and tacos. Cars have only been safe since the 80s, before that they were rolling death-traps. I think this generation completely takes for granted that we have computers that connect us to the entire world in our pockets. The global information network that has been built over the last couple of generations is the greatest achievement in the history of the human race, and it wasted on the laziest, most ungrateful group of a**holes that has ever lived, ever. I know I'm guilty of this, my first pc was a commodore64 that played 8-bit games with wires everywhere and I thought that was amazing. Now, I can sit on the toilet and play HD games on a wireless tablet without even the smallest acknowledgement of what has gone into making that possible.

Dawnguard Info from E3
skwareballz replied to stoppingby4now's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Todd Howard did this interview with Morgan Webb, he spills some of the beans. Crossbows, perk trees for Vampire Lords and Werewolves, dragonbone weapons, 10-20 hours of content. No date for pc or PS3, but I'd bet about 4-6 weeks after 360 launch on june 26. -
Solving VRAM problems with 560 Ti
skwareballz replied to TheCompiler's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I've used SMCO and it worked really well and eliminated some CTDs I was having at about 30 minute mark every time I booted Skyrim. It would be nice to see if there was a way to compare Optimizer Textures and SMCO without having to reinstall everything over and over, even with WB it is still a pain in the butt. -
Discussion thread: Birds of Skyrim by Qasiermo Wiki Link This adds a few birds with custom models to Skyrim. It is in the same vein as More Village Animals. Roosters and baby chickens added to farms, seagulls added to ports, pigeons added to the main cities, and crows added to College of Winterhold and Windhelm, plus some rare white grouse in the forest but you'll never find it. It just adds a little more life to Skyrim, which is a good thing. A bit of a WIP, but one to watch depending how far the author decides to take it (personally would like to see ducks in the pond and lake areas).

1.6 patch to include Mounted Combat!
skwareballz replied to Thechosenone's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I think anyone who has spent enough time with STEP, plus adding and testing new mods will be able to run STEP with a new update without sacrificing to many mods. I wonder how far along SkyBoost was before this was announced or if it has been abandoned to focus on ENB. -
1.6 patch to include Mounted Combat!
skwareballz replied to Thechosenone's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Seems like the throwing weapon mods will work really good with mounted combat, and now all we need is spears which were in Fallout so it's gotta make you wonder why Skyrim doesn't have any. I mean Forsworn with spears and throwing axes sounds awesome, amiright? -
1.6 patch to include Mounted Combat!
skwareballz replied to Thechosenone's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Except for unique horses, they die pretty quickly so beth needs to add some health points to the ponies. Plus, enemies need horses to fight from too since a mounted attack will just make it unfair to the NPCs. I think I can see a jousting mod in the near future... -
I saw a decent improvement on my laptop, 555M, fps is a bit more stable with lots of NPCs on screen. nvidia has been pretty good with driver updates so far this year, now if AMD could just fix crossfire scaling for Skyrim and Arkham City.

SEOP - Skyrim Enhanced Options by CaganTheMan This little replacement for Skyrim's option menu opens up quite a few more tweaks to the options so going through Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini isn't needed for everything. It is still in the alpha stage but it already has options for things like shadows on trees, field of view, V-sync (which should have been in the original), mouse acceleration, depth of field, crosshair tweaks, and the view distance sliders all have larger range. For people that aren't crazy about editing .ini files for every little option this makes tweaking Skyrim much more user friendly to the casual STEP user.

Console Books by LightStar Everyone that ends up modding their game will eventually need the console, either to fix a broken quest, or to jump to a location to test something. This little mod prevents you from having to jump on the internet every time you need a console command by putting almost every command into 51 books. They are located either in Helgen Keep or right in front of Alvor's house in Riverwood. The books weight nothing and they are broken down by the author so you really only have to take the books you want/need.

Pannonian just added rocks and mountains https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=17243 I think they look pretty nice, hopefully this turns into one mod as it grows.
