  1. I've had a lower timescale than the default since Skyrim came out and have yet to have a problem with it. You will not even notice the vendors. What you will notice is the nights lasting a while longer since nothing is open to sell stuff, so you'll probably use the waiting function a bunch.
  2. Try Dynamic Timescale which lets you set different timescales for indoor-outdoor-combat-non-combat. Comes as a book that you keep in your inventory. There is also a script dragon version too.
  3. Actually the next STEP guide, maybe 2 guides, will probably be out before RLwC 4.0. We might be lucky to see it before November. I was really glad to here that a lighting mod decided to use MDS because it really is a great mod. I still remember the first time I found it and installed it, all my shadows were crazy awesome after that, so I immediately suggested it for STEP, probably before I should have since puuloo was still deleting records instead of disabling them back then. Since that time the work that has gone into this is superb and I really hope the Nexus lets puuloo come back cuz he deserves it for the work he has done.
  4. There are a couple of newer mods like the Project Parallax and Diverse Enhanced Rocks that are probably worth putting in the ring, maybe I'll have them all over for a party this weekend.
  5. I put a little extra info in the main post. I have used this mod with around 250 mods installed and about 120 esps/esms and all the CTDs I've been getting are in caves and ruins. I'm assuming since this mod is strictly affecting the outdoor Skyrim worldspace that it is not causing any of the CTDs I've experienced lately. Also, these are the upcoming plugins: Vampires. Mother F'in Vampires.
  6. It makes me wish that the Razorscales armor would get an update to standalone because it is a spectacular looking armor, but there is no female version. aMidianBorn has done such a good job of addressing both genders and making them every so slightly different. That other steel plate armor is just to fancy, good redesign of the engravings, but I don't know if it would fit with all the other armors I have installed.
  7. I think only one patrol goes close to any of the towns, and the author is going to fix that in the next update along with a bunch of new plugins that add groups of all the generic NPCs so it looks like the roads are alive.
  8. Immersive Patrols by Scrabbulor This little gem adds roaming patrols of different factions to Skyrim's main roads. Here is the author's description: This mod has two flavors for the patrols and one for the Bandits. There is 5 Unit and 10 Unit patrols. The 5 Unit version has 5 Stormcloaks, 5 Imperial, and 4 Thalmor in each patrol. The 10 Unit version has 10 Stormcloaks, 10 Imperial, and 8 Thalmor in each patrol. For both versions there are 2 Thalmor, 8 Stormcloak, and 8 Imperial patrols wandering the roads of Skyrim. An optional file for bandit patrols is now out, and the bandits will attack a village or town every 10 days. I have quite a few mods installed that aren't STEP mods and there hasn't been any conflicts, actually it seems to enhance other mods. Using this with Bellyaches New Dragon Species mod I had a group of Stormcloaks helping me kill a dragon while another Thalmor patrol showed up and started killing the Stormcloaks, and then a couple of bears showed up and started attacking the dragon. That's Immersive Patrols, Sky Test, Auto-Variants with Bellyache animals, and Bellyaches New Dragon Species all coming together, and I didn't even need Warzones or any thing like that to make it happen. EDIT: Updated to show new features and that there is now Bandit patrols.
  9. I've been forgetting to mention that the third person camera tweaks in STEP don't work to good with the backpack on. When I'm trying to use the bow it often times gets in the way, can be a bit annoying for sneaks and archers.
  10. I use the Extreme Watery Icicles, but the Transparent Watery Icicles are pretty good too if you want them to be see through. It's kinda weird with them being transparent because you will notice part of them get kind of blurred when there is something white behind them, like snow or clouds. It's a cool effect, but I'm not sure if icicles really do that since I live in the desert.
  11. It's hard to argue against using any of these mods, Opticshooter and osmodius really know how make textures. I did test Real Ice, That's Ice, and Real Ice and Snow quite a bit before posting Real Ice as my recommendation. Real Ice and Snow has the icicles I like and the snowy road textures were pretty nice even compared to SRO, but that baby blue with the updated meshes in That's Ice is crazy. I do believe TC had Real Ice as the STEP recommendation before That's Ice became his choice. I remember spending a couple hours looking at all the ice textures and my eyes just glazed over and I couldn't tell which one was really the 'best' (if there is such a thing). I just picked the one that I would walk up to and lick. I don't know how TC does it with all those mods, even though I've recommended around a dozen or so mods, there isn't enough red bull and meth in the world to get me to do what TC does.
  12. All of the adMinianBorn armors should be considered for STEP I think. There are iron, iron banded, steel, and steel plate retextures, spread over three mods. He pretty much changes all the little details of the armor to enhance them greatly. If you look close at his armors, you'll see that he has made the engravings on them different for male and female armors, which adds a little bit of depth.
  13. All the Claralux lights can be disabled from the console just get the codes of the mod's front page. You'll want to disable the road lights and bridge lights, but don't use V3A it's to buggy.
  14. This really opens a lot of doors with the camping, horse, and realism mods. Convenient Horses allows horse inventory, so this could add all your camping equipment to the horse's back and make it look like you were a real drifter. Pretty soon Skyrim will be a survival/fantasy sim/rpg.
  15. Yeah that is the backpack from Sabre Gear backpacks, this is awesome.
  16. When you say dynamic backpacks does that mean that it will use SabreGear Backpacks like it uses cloaks? Because I love SabreGear and that would be awesome.
  17. The author has only talked about this being incompatible with SoS (patch is being worked on), and other lighting/weather mods.
  18. Maybe the admins only like hentai themed mods and puuloo's mod covered their characters in shadows they didn't like.
  19. I'm pretty sure the titty mod guys know all about creating these presets. If that doesn't work then Amethyst Deceiver, the creator of Black Tower and Black Sacrament Armor, and Amethyst Hollows, knows how to make presets. He frequents the threads for his mods quite often and is very helpful.
  20. Right... eww... forgot about the beginning of the conversation. Â Now I need an hour long shower in mouthwash. You'd be mintiy fresh for weeks. And sticky too, but we'll still have more cheesecake.
  21. Just click on the object and type disable using the console.
  22. Automatic Variants has been uploaded to the nexus with a stable beta release. should probably go into testing now. get it here
  23. plus somehow the strips are enchanted with 9000 armor, 100 resist magic, disease, poison, and kills enemies that get to close
  24. Economics of Skyrim by Thomas Kaira I've been wanting to recommend this mod for a while, but it had to many conflicts until rencently. Basically, this mod will make Skyrim more regionalized in terms of it's economy. Prices will be determined by the available resources in the area. Here is the author's description: ---NEW AS OF V1.2 AND FIXED BY V1.2.3--- Smithing Services: Blacksmiths will now have dialog options to take weapon and armor orders. They will also offer full sets of armor. Vanilla weapons and armor only.Blacksmiths will temper weapons and armor. The price is set by the materials needed to temper the equipment. To temper an iron dagger the price would match an iron ingot. Vanilla weapons and armor only.Merchant gold, smithing dialog not showing, and pricing in The Pale all fixed.Just look at the nexus page with a list of all the tweaks this mod makes to Skyrim. The best part is that the mod doesn't make Skyrim feel like different game, so it still has the same feel with a much more dynamic economy. It requires SKSE and recently went through a rebuild so it no longer edits the base merchant containers which maximizes compatibilty with mods that add to a vendor's list of goods. It is BAIN ready and the level lists can be merged into Bashed Patch which makes EoS even more compatible with other mods. You don't need a new game, just install and when you start up Skyrim you will get a coin in your inventory which will give you an array of options. Items can recieve regional values that change from one hold to the next for both buying and selling, and there is also an option to increase the amount of gold merchants have. They can have 0, 500, 1000, 2000, or 5000 extra gold depending on your preference. Complete armor sets will also be made available in merchant lists for purchase.
  25. This isn't used in any recommended STEP mods right now, but it should always be looked at since there are some nice mods for it out there, like Shout Combat and Skill System. It ties shouting to the speech skill so being a dovah actually contributes to your leveling and decreases shout recovery as you level speech. Then there is ThuuMic which really pisses people off at 3am, and I'm all for that, and I don't think I can play Skyrim without Auto Potion.
