  1. If you are planning on upgrading already, you might as well think about buying used parts now. Just had a quick look, the I7 920 is surprisingly cheap and it usually clocks to 4 Ghz on air.
  2. Sorry for derailing the thread further: The 16 pixel distortion is relative to the pixels moved. With higher resolution you will get more movement as well. I cannot tell how large the difference really is because I decided against buying one of those monitors and wait for affordable OLEDs instead. But I do see some slight "smudging" on my monitor when gaming though.
  3. Requiem might be for you. It changes a lot of things throughout the game though (please see the nexus page for further information).
  4. I wouldn't say IPS panels are superior, they have different advantages over TN panels. Refresh rate does matter though: https://www.blurbusters.com/faq/60vs120vslb/ This will show on any game with some kind of camera motion. It's subtle but noticeable.
  5. I'm not sure if I understand your post, Requiem and Consistent Older People are changing the same record but I haven't seen Requiem touching any visual subrecords of NPCs while Consistent Older People exclusively changes visual subrecords.
  6. EDT matches color a little better, but I like the extra noise of this one. Also the medium distance texture could use a higher resolution.
  7. This probably won't be a mod that depends on anything for removal. So in case this is hard on older systems you could just put up a warning. I think this is a great and much needed addition to STEP. In my opinion it's the difference in detail that makes cell loads more noticeable.
  8. Well the majority incompatibilities with Requiem I saw was due to Requiem changing npc perks. Pretty much every mod that touches npc entries will conflict with Requiem. There will probably nothing serious happen if you use both, you just won't see the changes of the mod loading first.
  9. Prad is the hardcore site for monitor reviews. If they say the monitor is good it is outstanding. Another thing to consider when buying a monitor for gaming is blurbusters.com, there is a prad review of an Asus (TN) panel with strobo backlight which seems to be very good but not really cheap. Personally I'm waiting for Oled to become cheaper, but I'm on a SyncMaster 305T. If you want to save money, maybe you can find a cheaper g.skill ram. They usually clock the best and were a little cheaper then corsair in the past. Besides, memory clock makes a really small difference. At least in dual channel with stock chipset clock. It's true that you need a good CPU cooler if you are planning on overclocking. I'd recommend Noctua but they are not exactly budget. Are you sure you need the k version of the CPU? With the right mobo you could overclock using the north bridge clock (would require a lot of reading though and maybe a custom chipset cooler).
  10. As far as I can tell, Consistent Older People is not forwarded by Hard Times. Requiem also overwrites some changes from Diverse Priests (which might be dropped in favor for Clothing and Clutter Fixes in STEP 2.2.8 anyway).
  11. Thanks for the find! I must have overlooked it because T5E doesn't show a conflict here. Yep, you can probably drop that mod. The distance will be reduced even more, but personally I don't care enough to use another plugin. I will add this to the wiki.
  12. Well, I think there is a huge difference between an athletes' body and a pumper's body. But you're right, vanilla has steroid necks too...
  13. Sorry, I really don't like them. [edit]Sorry, after a second look my comment came of as a little sharp. I just think those bodies look way too much like an iron pumper's. Not that lifting some weights and look after your body is a bad thing but this is a little immersion breaking for me.
  14. I like it a lot. It's the most realistic body mod I've seen yet. Personally I don't think there is a no nudity recommendation needed, people will decide on their own anyway. A Freudian slip? ;) (sorry I just couldn't resist with all those big red nudity warnings...)
  15. That one is from candle lanterns of the north. I cannot find that mod on the nexus, guess I have to redo the patch now. [edit]Done! This was much quicker then I thought. I should have done it earlier. Wiki page has been updated, I will update the post installation instructions and patches soonish.
  16. That's the way Hard Times work. I forgot the reason why, I think it's somewhere in this thread or in the comments over hat Nexus.
  17. Unfortunately the only way I found to do that is load the original mods into Tes5Edit and remove the entries manually, then rightlick on the plugin in the left panel and use the clean masters function. For Wearable lanterns that might come down to a lot of entries. I'd say 99% of those conflicts (felt like 50 entries or so when revisiting them) are with USKP because USKP grounds a lot of lanterns (by lowering their z position a little). The next version of the patch probably will not support wearable lanterns any longer since it's no longer an extended mod. I'm waiting with the update for the patch until there has been a decision made concerning Audio Overhaul and the regular STEP:Extended patch has been updated. I'm planning on remaking the patch from EssArrBee's doing what I described in the first paragraph of this post. Wearable Lanterns probably isn't really incompatible if you wish to add it then, it will overwrite some z positioning changes from USKP though. I hope this answer isn't too unsatisfying.
  18. There are two or three patches required from the AOS patches page. Above that I didn't find any esp conflicts with extended mods, I didn't test with other sound mods though.
  19. As for the advanced editing guide, Jawz made a pretty good ENB guide. If people want to dive deeper into ENB settings it's a good place to start. You can find it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39742/?
  20. Oh, ok. I didn't see any conflicts in WB but I don't use any other sound mod.
  21. Thank you! You certainly have a point about the wildlife. I will see if a reduction is necessary when I can run extensive stability tests. If I remember right those mods would be completely safe to remove if you don't want to use them but I'd have to double check. The next version of the chopped extended patch will contain information about all the forwarded mods, any mod not forwarded by any of the patches can simply be left out or uninstalled. The Choice is Yours still needs to be tested for the Faendal & Sven quest if someone is willing to do that. And I'm eagerly awaiting the outcome of the AOS testing, it's inclusion would make some things a lot less messy on the wiki page.
  22. ;) If the current changelog is accurate BOSS should handle the LO just fine. Don't forget to grab the patches for some STEP mods though.
  23. Ok, created wiki pages for both AOS and patches (also created a corresponding forum thread for the patches). I hope I ticked the right boxes :) https://wiki.step-project.com/Audio_Overhaul#tab=Mod_Attributes https://wiki.step-project.com/Audio_Overhaul_Patches#tab=Mod_Attributes
  24. Discussion thread: Audio Overhaul for Skyrim - Patches by michaelrw Wiki Link This mod is actually quite self explaining. It provides patches for Audio Overhaul for Skyrim by David Jegutidse and many popular mods. Thanks Michaelrw for all your work on the patches!Use the complete edition to replace the AOS.esp from the main mod to save a plugin slot. STEP patch users do not need to get the extra patches for mods listed in the optional section. Those have been rebuilt from scratch into the STEP patches. Be aware of the mods patched on the wiki page (link above). EssArrBee: This mod is dropped unless updated to current version of AOS. Guide has been updated to reflect this.
  25. Man you need to work on your cable management :p Congratulations to your new graphics card!
